I don't read CR.
Cross-over Utility Vehicle. CUV's are built on car platforms (uni body construction). Tradition SUV's are built on truck platforms (body on frame construction). Although the lines are getting blurred. Even though technically wrong, most manufacturers end up calling them SUV's anyway because people don't associate with CUV's as terminology intended for their vehicle. And, most insurances don't really know how to classify them...lol. True SUV's are the ones like Tahoe, Yukon, Expedition, Excursion, Armada, etc, Built on frames originally meant for trucks (Silverado, F150, F250, Titan). The Ford Explorer is a good example, originally built on the Ranger truck frame, it was a true SUV in the beginning, now it is based off the Taurus car and is really a CUV, but Ford still calls it an SUV.

Coming in late here. . . CR is just silly and steeped in opinion.
The DJ is a large Avenger. Its a car (CUV). I kinda think the Pentastar DJ already is quite a sleeper. It will quietly blow the doors off of most vehicles on the road, and I feel like the suspension is quite good. When I take a corner at speed, there is almost no suspension dive. It isn't going to handle like a sports car because it is very top heavy (especially with bikes, surfboards, and gear on the roof Ha!). FWD hinders some, and while AWD may be better, its heavy and can be just another thing to cause problems. I once entered an off ramp intended for 25mph at 60mph unintentionally, the brakes and suspension handled that situation well enough to keep me alive, keep my DJ on the road, and the impress the passengers in the back seat with its performance. I looked pretty stupid, but my DJ saved my @$$. I have been happy with my purchase since 2011. Still runs like the day I brought it home.
Peace.

As long as your DJ is at the garage that you trust you will be fine. I know that this is easy for me to say. When I had my 2006 Jeep Commander, one of the employees got pissed about something, and backed into my Jeep going about 40 mph! They had to put it on a machine to pull out the support between the doors, a new front door and skin for the rear door. Took almost 3 weeks before I got it back.

dhh3 got a reaction from rolly in Just joined 2015 Dodge Journey Family. Couple questions.
Welcome to the forum. I trade in my 2011 Nitro, with all of the opions, so it is hard to say what I actually paid for it. There was a special going on the day I went in. A man form Chrysler was there. I qualified and received a $2,000 incentive to buy something. I also received my $500 Military discount. I went in to buy a Cherokee Trailhawk, but the DJ was $5,000 less, so it was a no brainer. I wanted the DJ as soon as I saw it: Copperhead Pearl glistening in the sun. I am curious to see how she does in the snow: FWD

Mine makes a clunk every time I back out of my garage. I was told that it is normal. Part of the Warranty, so I'm not too concerned,.

I'll tape it to the inside of the window. If he can read it, no need to roll down the window and ask him what he wants!

Fine. You don't have auto headlights. Set the interior rotator switch just below the lowest detent and leave it there. It will dim the screen display when you manually turn your headlights on.
Peace.

OK. Whatever. Sounds like you have it set just how you want it. Was trying to help. Auto. No auto. Hopefully what I posted was helpful to someone. I'm out.
Peace.

I think you are looking at the hydraulic jack which helps roll the car back and forth - it would not come out of park.

Indiana has a lot of stupid laws concerning cars/trucks, but I highly doubt that they are all enforced. I'm still considering the tint.

dhh3 reacted to Journey_SeXT in Windows Tinted
So how illegal is this if they allow the tints from the factory which is pretty dark. Go take the road trip like I said and get something like 40-50% light filtration tints which is slight and no cops should hassle you as you will be fully visible. If anyone hassles you just tell them that Journey SeXT said it was okay!!

Went to the bodyshop Saturday and got a closer look:
It is repairable and we don't believe it to be totaled since none of the airbags went off. Estimates are not in yet but my guess is somewhere around 15K. I'll update you all when I know more. Almost all of the damage is contained to the driver's side front corner. The left front wheel appears straight, I didn't see any damage to the control arm or the steering rack. The doors all line up and even the hood was still latched before I opened it. Check out the battery. It looks like one of those cutaway demonstrations that you see at museums and trade shows.

Don't start just push the button - keep your foot off the brake.

dhh3 reacted to Journey_SeXT in Reset the "Oil Change Required" warning....HOW?
I can't believe that we are still addressing this question.
Just a simple google search typing "how to reset oil light on 2012 dodge journey"
and look what was at the top of the list.
We've also covered this many times in other threads.
BTW welcome to the forum!!

dhh3 reacted to bigtsr in Journey SXT Turn Signal
The blinker is an integral part of the dash circuit board.
I have seen this problem before and if I recall correctly
the cause in that case proved out to be a broken wire
in the rear hatch wiring loom.
Break is likely caused by opening/closing the hatch
over a period of time.
You could as a first effort disconnect the DJ battery at
the negative jumper location for 10-15 minutes to see
the TIPM when rebooted will clear the problem.

dhh3 reacted to Tom McGaffin in Wi-fi or router interference?
Thanks for the points...
dhh3, when I got to the dealership, the Journey was outside, and it was never inside the service bays or anything.
The service tech did the same thing. He said he had walked up to the Journey, unlocked & locked it with the fob buttons, used the sensor on the door handle, and had also started up the Journey with the push button start.
I have emailed Chrysler Canada with this, and they too, have no answer for me as to why this happened.

dhh3 got a reaction from jkeaton in Which Garmin?
I own an iPhone5s and use it for Nav. The USB in the console also charges the device plugged.into it. One I add my whereto address, the phone stays on all of the time, until I get there, and is constantly being charged. Siri gives me directions through the car's speakers, dimming the sound so I can hear her. I was going to buy another Garmin, but my phone works just as good and map updates are free.
