  1. one thing that always worked for me in all of my previous cars and including this one is to start driving right away and don't use the heater at all .. turn it off if you can ... Why ? because turning it on steal the heat from the engine and it take longer to build up .. if you turn it off all the heat generated will be for the engine and it will get hot faster .... i mean .. if you don't need the defrost mode , no snow or ice .. if it just cold outside and your windshield and windows are clear ... turn off the heater , start driving and in 5-6 minutes the engine will reach his normal temp .. then turn on the heater .. instant warm air from the vents ...if you start driving with the heater on it will take twice the time to get warm inside ( because you are stealing the heat from the engine right ? ) .... Journey's with ATC like mine do automatically something similar : when it's cold you see '' Auto Delay '' on the screen and the ventilation is low .. when it get warmer the ATC turn the fan full speed but i prefer to turn it off because it is more efficient and quicker to build up heat. just try it ... you will see what i mean
  2. The battery in the key fob is only for the remote functions ( doors , windows , remote start ) ,.... even with no battery or with a dead fob battery you will be able to start the car ....
  3. it's nice having the TPMS + EVIC because you know the exact pressure you have ... i don't have the EVIC so my TPMS is just a idiot yellow light and trigger at 26 PSI. i run at 35 PSI .. i can tell if my tire are OK by just checking the line of dust on the tire
  4. for me the choice is not difficult , you pay for nitrogen ... air is free ;-p

    Paddle Shifters?

This mod is more for the look than anything else. In autostick mode if you hit the redline the tranny will shift up , if you slow down too much it will downshift by itself to prevent you from stalling. Autostick is an illusion , you don't really have the control over the engine. Useful if if tow something , if you want to use the compression when going downhill ... even if you try to rev the engine in P or N position it will cut the fire at 3000RPM .... i don't say this mod is bad ... just want to save you money
  6. get in the second row and just look under the passenger seat , you will see the latch , release it by pulling it .. you will figure it out .. it's easy , and replace the tab where it should so it will not happen again. In this picture the Tab is placed where it should :
  7. make sure the dip stick is easy to pull and you can put it back without efforts .... if it hard to pull .. maybe the yellow plastic is a tad too big for the oil tube .. and the dip stick never sit correctly ... this will give you crazy readings.
  8. true , the rear blower is located in the trunk , right side behind a rectangular grill. Front Blower provide air for the front vents , front floor and floor second row ( the grill are under the driver and passenger seats) Rear Blower provide air for the 4 roof outlets and a rear floor outlet located right side of the third row seat. So it's true to say that the second row roof air outlet can '' maybe '' provide less air ... especially if the rear control is set to Roof and Floor at the same time.
  9. there is enough room to install hood struts for sure , maybe a hood struts kit from a Chrylser 300 will do the trick with minimum effort to fit it.
  10. it's possible that since they are not mandatory in the U.S , the equipment/devices/modules required to make it work is simply not there to save cost production ... this can explain why UConnect says they are on and nothing light up.
  11. this is normal , you probably don't noticed it before but the low beam remain on even with the high beam
  12. no splash guard on driver side on my 2009 SXT , it don't need one anyway. There is one on the passenger side to protect the engine/accessories belts and prevent them to deteriorate quickly and squeal like a dying pig.
  13. go there in the OEM catalog if you know the part number or go for ebay because the dealer will ask an arm and a leg for it for sure. ...hummm aftermarket i guess is around 130$
  14. im pretty sure the ECO functionality was available only in 2010. the lowest i have seen in my 2009 is 8.9L\100Km and the worst was 13L\100Km .... the average is 11L\100Km
  15. links added to the list thank you , BAC & steond
  16. got them thank you

  17. Im my Journey all doors unlock when the driver pull his handle , the unlock button is not needed in this situation. Also if the child locks are disabled , the rear passengers can unlock the rear doors by pulling the door lock knob on the door trim panel upward. Compared with the front knob they are taller with more grip FOR THAT REASON.

Since you know what is the cause i suggest to be more careful with your shoe . It's the Murphy's law : no matter how carefully the engineers are designing things, there will be always someone who will do the unthinkable.
  19. First of all i moved this topic in the Dodge Journey : powertrain section because this post do not belong in the lounge section. Learn where to post. Second , you don't give any infos about what model you have beside the '' journey 2009 '' in your profile .. a little more will help. Lastly , if your car is AWD , it's probably the water coming out from the evacuating hose of the climatisation system. The hose must be re-routed because the water is entering by the vent of the PTO and finally find his way inside the transmission. It's only a guess , your problem could be something else but iv seen this one time. So go and check this out.
  20. happy birthday !

  21. i agree , i don't know why peoples don't follow the rules .. they post everywhere. Each time i come here it's 5 minutes reading what's new and 15 minutes moving topics around ... they don't move magically you know ..it's ME !!
  22. i think it's the starter that do not disengage itself fast enough because of the cold ... my Journey do this when it's -20C and colder. My previous car was a Dodge Neon 2003 R/T with the same issue and it was the exact same sound ... owned this car for 5 years from 0 Km to 125 000 Km and zero problems .. all i did was oils changes and installed new brakes in 5 years .. pretty good car. I sincerely think it's normal as long as it happen on very cold days for a couple of seconds...
  23. I also have the auto climate controls and i still have no idea where the sensor for the second and third row seats is located .. Pretty funny : i can set 3 different temperature if i want
  24. Friends , turn down the heat or i will use the ultimate button . If you play with air bags , disconnect the battery before playing with air bags sensors . it's a basic rule.
