  1. it's in !! i nearly froze my hands but it's installed .. hehe. You really need a relay harness , i tested with just the kit '' plug and play '' but the stock voltage is simply not high enough. You will run into problems like flickering or just one headlamp on and the other off .... so you really need a relay harness to plug both ballast direct on the battery. This is one HID light 6000K VS stock halogen 9006 bulb : Now both HID lights installed : Both HID lights + stock 9007 high beam notice the blue hue can be different depending the angle you look at the lights... ill try to post another pics at night time
  2. intake manifold .. that's the thing
  3. hey hey ... i finished my relay harness. i tested the lights .. wow man this will light up things !!! ill do the full install soon and i will post pics !!
  4. yes , i replaced them the day i got my journey.... well i did the same with each car i owned. OEM wipers just sucks. i put Viewmax" frameless" ( rain and winter ) wipers from Wal-Mart .. they are dirt cheap and 200% better than the OEM. Pick the ones with the silicone on it and you will be happy for a looooooong time.
  5. i received my kit. didn't finished my own relay harness yet .. and it's almost Christmas and with all the family and work party at this time .. i don't know when i be able to put the kit in my Journey.. well stay tune ...
  6. all the price listed on this website must be at least 50 % lower before i even think to order one part. $249.95 for a Journey Faux Leather Gauge Cluster Cover is a freaking joke .... but this is only my opinion.
  7. plans ? well no need for that. You see i have a formation in Industrial Electricity... so making a 12 volt relay is a piece of cake. All you need is a 12 volt relay with two contacts and high rated in amp .. let say humm 40amps. So you plug the relay directly on the battery and ground ( put a fuse on the power line too ) after plug the two ballast HID on the two contacts on the relay. Then all you need is only one plug from the oem wire lights that will activate the relay ... so when you turn on the lights the relay is activated which cause the two relay contacts to close and let the power pass in the ballast...... the only problem i can see after that is if the OEM voltage is not high enough to keep the relay closed when it's activated it might cause some flickering ( due to the relay clicking continuously ) you fix that by adding a capacitor to get a stable 12 Volt. but as i said before ..ill see that when i ll have the parts in hands
  8. oh crap ... it's was my first idea when i looked at it . ... I hoped for another way .... well.. since it will take a while to get my set. in the meantime i decided to build myself a relay harness... it's true , the headlights wires are too small for my taste and i don't want to toast anything...
  9. my kit is in the mail. while installing my winter wiper blades , i checked the headlights. While it's super easy for the passenger side .... how can i swap the low beam bulb on the driver side ... my hand can't reach it ..even worst for the side marker bulb ! any trick for a easy reach ?
  10. your right , maybe it's just me ... but i find the 8000k more annoying.. count on me for the pics before/after.. but it might take a while ( not shipped yet )
  11. thx for the inputs i don't have fogs the lights so no problems for me .. and i think they are there for the look more than anything else... really. the set i ordered is a low beam 6000K ..... 8000K are just too much blue .... 6000k is perfect and don't annoy other drivers as much as 8000k. it's basically direct bolt on for me ... ill see if i really need a relay harness
  12. this is the response from HIDExtra.com about my high beam DRL problem : well now , HID conversion for my high beam is a big no no. In Canada it's illegal to modify / temper with the DRL system ... ill stick with the low beam HID kit only and put some brighter Xenon aftermarket bulbs for the high beam ....
  13. i ordered low beam set ( 9006 ) .. i don't know about the high beam .. because they have the DRL on it so it will cause some problems for sure. .. ill see
  14. got a set of 17 steels wheels with winter tires Yokohama G072 225/65/17 . Its the first time i try these tires , so far they are very silent ..... but no snow yet so i tell you more later....

    Did you know???

perhaps you need both ( automatic climate control and factory remote ) the other day when i jumped in my car i started the car with the key not the remote and the rear defroster didn't start until i pressed the button ... so the question is if this feature work on a journey equipped with the factory remote with standard climate control ?

    Did you know???

i don't know if you get this feature with the factory remote or ATC. But when i start my car with the remote ( factory ) if the temperature is cold the rear defroster turn on automatically ...... very nice.
  17. dunno but maybe it's a re-programming thing you need .. so far i have zero problems with mine.
  18. why not have you used the autostick during the bumper to bumper rush hour to ''block'' the tranny in 1st gear ?????????
  19. this only my opinion , but this is not what i call ''retrofitting'' ... this only replacing a bulb by another type of bulb (LED) .. a simple swap. I did this on my Dodge SX R/T and not long after i decided to revert back with the original bulb. This replacement LED Bulbs are poorly made , fragile and don't make enough light output during the day in direct sunlight... too much dangerous ... you step on the brakes and the driver behind you don't even see it .... Real led lights are two times bigger ... just look at your journey third brake light .. this is real leds that you can see in daytime what i call retrofitting is taking a big truck LED light assembly and make it fit into the taillight housing ... and by all means a mirrored led assembly like this one for the best light ouput : http://www.superbrightleds.com/store/html/images/pt_both.jpg
  20. is anyone have the TSB for the left turning thing problem ?? in PDF .. or a scan .. i wish to see it .. please PM me or e-mail me .. thank you
  21. i believe it happen only when you leave your headlight on the automatic mode. If you leave your headlight to OFF position , nothing will happen if you lock / unlock with the keyfob. ill check if there is a way to deactivate this while in the automatic mode.
  22. yeah i know ... i noticed that while installing my rear view camera ....it's not a mistake even in the user manual the Bulbs # match with amber ... i guess is for lower cost production ... they are the same bulbs as the front amber turn signals. Simply to not carry another part number in their inventory ... they have better price Vs quantity. I don't know if it was designed that way .. if so the dealer will say .. well it's from factory like this why i would replace them ? this section of the red taillight is only for parking light ... when you step on the brake nothing happen so did you notice that the amber bulb as 2 filament ?? one of them will never be used ... if you are really concerned about the color output just get a set of white bulb ,same as the Brake / tail and plug them in there .. it will do the same ... the white brake bulb and the amber you found is physically the same bulb except one is coated amber , hence the different part number ... the different part number is to tell that is amber .. so this is why you will never found a white bulb with the same part number ... hehe
  23. For the climate control yes , there are long enough. Don't know for the Radio i didn't need to unplug it for my mod. Now in the picture burtdidit posted above, you can see the 3 zone automatic climate control. The black trim you see between the front and rear control is part of the central piece. So if you want to fit the radio in there you will have to cut it. like i said i need to remove the central piece again ... so i will try to snap to picture and post them here maybe tomorrow.
  24. you can't , well from what i see for now ... i already pulled out the central part ... climate control is one piece about 2 inches deep ( 3 zone ATC ) and absolutely nothing behind it : big empty hole ... on the bottom there is some rails so you can slide the radio in ... there is nothing like this for the climate control ... if you pull the central piece , the climate controls come with it .. and you have two connectors to unplug : one for the climate control and the other one for all the button above ( eps button , heated seat .. etc ).... no easy modding here ... anyway .. i need to remove it again for my custom GPS screen and back up camera .... i will have more time to look at it and figure if something can be done... i don't remember if the rails can be moved. if you need to hide stuff .. thats one of a hell spot ... lol ))
