Journey_SeXT got a reaction from Dee in Goodbye Everyone. I traded in my Journey
DTSGUY,
A car drive is pretty miserable when you don't enjoy the ride. I've been their too.....when I bought my Civic when I got married the love for it faded pretty fast and I got rid of it after a couple of years to get the CR-V which was a pleasure to drive and own. Lasted for 10 years until it was stolen which was fortunate for my wife and I who decided on replacing it with the Journey and we absolutely love it.

It would be great if the OP could post back with the code received. Let's hope it's not another 1 post wonder.

If the gas cap is the problem my '11 actually says "gas cap" in the evic display.
You may have something totally or co-incidental to the fill up so yes a code
will help sort out the source.

Welcome to the forum. Does it seem to run OK? Possible bad gas?

Journey_SeXT got a reaction from jkeaton in Stock Kumo tires in snow = slippery trip
Ok, maybe my implying that you guys are saying they are the best tires was a little strong but I was just making a point that some people do find them less than perfect in snow so I think that suggesting a set of winter tires for them would be in their best interest. Anyhow, I don't want to be the odd duck of this discussion so I will step aside and look at other threads.
Thanks for the replies to my rant!

Ok, so all you guys are basically saying that these Kuhmo's are the bomb and are superior to any winter tire in snow. There is no way in the world you guys can find these tires to be just as good as winter tires. Trust me when I tell you that I'm a very competent driver when it comes to driving in the snow. I do quite well in any vehicle or any weather condition. When I had my Chevy Aveo (tiny car) I used to drive my wife to work in the worst snowstorms as it doesn't phase me one bit when it comes to snow. I'm on the road every day logging many miles between my company's 10 sites and used to be a delivery driver for my dads company as soon as I got my license @ 17 years old....I am sick of driving all day long. Anyhow, the winter tires I can do without but with them on the vehicle is more stable on the road and does make for a safer drive for ANYONE who takes the keys, or fob in our house. I don't think that it is responsible for us to tell everyone that has troubles in winter conditions that they are crazy and a crappy driver and these tires are just fine. I would prefer that they get a set of winter tires as I and my family have to share the road with them.

Journey_SeXT reacted to B4ZINGA in The 70's called, they want my hubcaps back....
Going with a lighter wheel saves fuel and stress on the drivetrain, however not by any significant amounts. Dodge designed it to run with steel wheels, so there should be no wear issues, and the fuel savings will hardly make scratch in your fuel budget.
IIRC the advantage to changing to lighter wheels originates with racing. The lower unsprung weight results in quicker acceleration, shorter braking distances, and aids in more competent handling. Hence, racing teams spends thousands of dollars on lightweight forged racing wheels. You and I, driving to work and to the grocery store? No advantage other than looking cooler, and possibly improving handling if you go up in wheel diameter and width (resulting in a bigger contact patch and less sidewall flexing). But again, if you aren't a spirited driver and are already satisfied with how the car looks and handles... there's no point.

Glad to see you were able to find easy resolution. I wasn't aware the Journey had a unique filters.
Yes, those break-in change days died many years ago. I didn't have my factory fill changed until the change light went on around 8200 miles.

Sounds like you found out the hard way why the previous owner traded it in so soon!

The link here http://www.carbibles.com/gasmileage2.html says they do. If there is any fuel savings it would probably be very little.

Journey_SeXT got a reaction from Jick Nordan in Breaking it in
Thanks for posting back JN as that will help many DJ owners. I didn't realize the change until I read the attachment provided below. BTW it was an oil change gone wrong how did you manage to get the wrong filter?
Here is a useful attachment

Everyone can relax. One of the dumbest answers to this whole thing much like I feared. The 2014 DJ's oil filter is slightly different and has a 1 character difference than the rest. So once I swapped out the oil filter all returned to normal and I was able to use a Global setting on a reader to clear the code.

Journey_SeXT reacted to onecrazyfoo4u in Rotors might be gone, but check the pictures
That's why it's just easier to pay a couple hundred bucks and replace all 4 rotors/pads with a different (non-oem) parts. That's what many people on here do with excellent results. It saves you money and time from having to deal with stupid dealer shenanagins. Plus you're getting better parts. You get them replaced at the dealer you'll have the same problem in the future.
Replacing crap parts to begin with, with the same crap parts will only give you crap in the end.
