  1. Atta boy! Now the cost of the EBC brakes doesn't seem that expensive. Remember that the rear caliper pistons need to be rotated in DO NOT USE a c-clamp. Good luck with it! INSTALLATION NOTE Perform >>> through >>> on each side of vehicle to complete pad set installation, then proceed to >>>. CAUTION Anytime the brake rotor or brake pads are being replaced, the rear caliper piston must be seated (bottomed) to compensate for the new brake rotor or lining. Because the parking brake self-adjuster mechanism is attached to the piston, a special seating method is required. The only acceptable method is by rotating the piston back into the bore using , as described below. Any other seating method will damage the self-adjuster mechanism. SEATING PISTON WITH SPECIAL TOOL If necessary, seat (bottom) the caliper piston in the bore as follows: Assemble a 3/8 in. drive ratchet handle and an extension (3). Insert the extension through Special Tool Assembly, Forcing Screw (2). Place Special Tool Adapter (1) on the end of the extension. Insert lugs on Special Tool Adapter into notches in face of caliper piston (5). Thread the screw drive on Assembly, Forcing Screw down until it contacts the top of Adapter which is against the caliper piston. Do not over tighten the screw-drive. Damage to the piston can occur. Turn Adapter with the ratchet, rotating the piston in a clockwise direction until fully seated (bottomed) in the bore. It may be necessary to turn Assembly, Forcing Screw with Adapter
  2. For some reason I thought it would have been like a $39.99 update so when I saw $150 I was a little shocked. I think I'll still keep using my trusty GPS map.

That sucks & now you got me worried as I check my oil almost daily (I know that's too frequent) I thought this would have been a really rare problem but there are quite a few discussions & youtube video's on this.....Dodge (Chrysler) seems to have a real problem with the plastic handle breaking. I don't think this will help the OP but for anyone else this may help if you encounter a dipstick breaking situation.

  7. No experience with EBC but it is a reliable and trustworthy brake company that will exceed the performance of your original equipment. I totally agree with Jkeaton that they are overpriced but its your wallet and it costs a few $$$ for good performance.

  15. DTSGUY, A car drive is pretty miserable when you don't enjoy the ride. I've been their too.....when I bought my Civic when I got married the love for it faded pretty fast and I got rid of it after a couple of years to get the CR-V which was a pleasure to drive and own. Lasted for 10 years until it was stolen which was fortunate for my wife and I who decided on replacing it with the Journey and we absolutely love it.
  16. Power steering fluid is ATF+4....Isn't ATF+4 synthetic? Ok, maybe my implying that you guys are saying they are the best tires was a little strong but I was just making a point that some people do find them less than perfect in snow so I think that suggesting a set of winter tires for them would be in their best interest. Anyhow, I don't want to be the odd duck of this discussion so I will step aside and look at other threads. Thanks for the replies to my rant!

  20. Ok, so all you guys are basically saying that these Kuhmo's are the bomb and are superior to any winter tire in snow. There is no way in the world you guys can find these tires to be just as good as winter tires. Trust me when I tell you that I'm a very competent driver when it comes to driving in the snow. I do quite well in any vehicle or any weather condition. When I had my Chevy Aveo (tiny car) I used to drive my wife to work in the worst snowstorms as it doesn't phase me one bit when it comes to snow. I'm on the road every day logging many miles between my company's 10 sites and used to be a delivery driver for my dads company as soon as I got my license @ 17 years old....I am sick of driving all day long. Anyhow, the winter tires I can do without but with them on the vehicle is more stable on the road and does make for a safer drive for ANYONE who takes the keys, or fob in our house. I don't think that it is responsible for us to tell everyone that has troubles in winter conditions that they are crazy and a crappy driver and these tires are just fine. I would prefer that they get a set of winter tires as I and my family have to share the road with them.
