You'll get better reviews of a vehicle and their problems just by visiting the forum (like this one) of a certain make and model and see what the ACTUAL consumers say about THEIR vehicle rather than biased reviews of CRs.

According to this consumer I would say my 2011 Journey has been pretty good & reliable so far.

68,000 km (42,253 miles) runs great & idles smooth. No major problems and running synthetic oil. I'll report back in 6 years and let you know how it's doing at a 100,000 miles.

You could also consider going with the bigger brake upgrade which should lessen all those rotor & pad replacements. It will be an expensive upgrade if done by the dealer....maybe a private shop could work out a sweet deal for you using brake parts from a scrap yard (if available). There is a thread about switching to bigger brakes in this forum if you are interested.

Yup, I think it is an 8.4" screen thing. Anyhow the usb port is still a sweet option for me.

The U.S. (North American) made was actually a selling feature for me when I got the Cooper CS5's for my other ride. They were reasonably priced and I can say that I like em' a lot. I've only driven 8,000 km's (5,000 miles) with them so it's is still early to say how good they are but so far I'm impressed.

It doesn't look pretty but I spray the center with white lithium grease to keep it from rusting and repel water.

You get what you pay for??? I tend to think that my DJ is worth a little more than that statement. I know plenty of people that have issues with their German imports and costed way more than our DJ's so please don't make it sound like we've all purchased some cheap entry level econo-box that is just to take us from point A to point B.

Hmmm, which reminds me that I have a new filter that has been sitting for two months and now is probably a good time to replace it as the weather is starting to warm up here.

Mine doesn't read full either unless i keep feeding it gas after the pumps stops...did that in the beginning a couple of times but now I just stop once the pump clicks and accept it. If it doesn't cause it to stall or any other issue then it isn't a big deal to me at all.

I check my oil cold and drain my oil flaming hot. Sometimes I'll check the oil 15 minutes after coming back home from work but all i care is that when I drain the oil during an oil change that the same amount is going back in the jugs and so far that is what I'm getting.

Checking your oil between oil changes is way too long. I check mine frequently so if there is ever an oil consumption/leak issue, which there is not, at least I would like to catch it early rather than later when major damage to the engine can occur. It doesn't take long and it's passes my time while I have a smoke in the garage.......BTW I don't endorse the use of any tobacco products as it may cause major health issues!!
