  1. I've noticed that the front brake rotors have developed deep grooves that can easily be seen and felt if I run my finger over the rotors. I don't feel any pulsation in the brake pedal at all, and they seem to be functioning fine. But it concerns me that I'm seeing this deep grooving after only 2000 miles. Should I care?
  2. That's a tough sell when you can get 16", 17", or 18" alloy wheels with good snow tires as a package for less.
  3. You might have better luck posting this in the "Classifieds" section of the forum.
  4. I'm just stating what it says in the 2011 owner's manual that Dodge makes available online. Does your printed manual not have this chart? Does it have the same chart that's in the 2012? It's a whole chart, so if they changed it mid-year it was for more than just a typo.
  5. There's a chart in the 2011 owner's manual. With one or two passengers and the tow prep group, the V6 2011 Journey has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs. I believe the 2009 and 2010 were the same even tough the V6 had less horsepower in those models. This has been debated in several threads here, but the documentation is clear. The 2011 towing capacity (with V6 and tow prep) is 3500 lbs. The 2012 towing capacity (with V6 and tow prep) is 2500 lbs. The chart is on page 458 of the 2012 owner's manual and page 408 of the 2011 owner's manual. Nobody knows why Chrysler changed the documentation since the drive train didn't change.
  6. But it's the same engine that was used in the 2011, which has a 3500 lb. towing capacity.
  7. Welcome! I had a '92 Shadow back in the day. That was the only Dodge I've ever owned before getting the new Journey.
  8. Are there any positions of the seat that make you foot less likely to hit the hood release? I'm thinking maybe if the seat was a little higher or lower the position of your foot would be a little different? If not, maybe there's a way to get a velcro strap around the lever to give it a little more resistence. Not sure if there's anything to velcro it to.
  9. Good luck! Make sure you get some before and after pictures.
  10. Yeah, Goss has a full body shop, so they're probably your best bet for the repairs.
  11. Does anyone know how to take apart the center console (armrest) assembly? I'd like to move the aux RCA inputs from the back of the center console to inside it. I've heard that its just a couple of screws holding the inputs in place, but I need to get the center console apart and the top of the armrest removed to get to them. Thanks!
  12. I'm still interested in a picture if anyone's got one. Thanks!
  13. Oh no! How bad is the damage?
  14. Yup, all the American Journeys have the option to enable or disable the DRLs through the on-screen menu, but they don't actually work unless the sales code for DRLs was added to your car at the factory or after the fact by your dealer. It seems that a lot of SXT models and below often have them enabled from the factory, while Crew and R/T models don't. No idea what the logic is behind that.
  15. Was the car under warranty when you first stared having this problem a year ago? Did the dealer make a note of it then?
  16. Your garage door opening must be nice and high. I had to go with the LoPro version of the Skybox to fit in my garage. I also just mounted the Thule lift system to the garage ceiling which makes it a breeze to get the box on and off the car. I've only had the Journey for about a month, but I haven't noticed a difference in gas mileage with the box on or off.
  17. Support also says that it won't work on a 2012, but it works fine. I can't say whether or not it will work on a 4.3 since mine's an 8.4. If the lockpick really doesn't work on a 4.3, the navtv may be the only option.
  18. It doesn't have to be programmed at the factory. Your dealer can enable them for you by adding the sales code for DRLs to your VIN and flashing the computer. That's what I did.
  19. Mine doesn't skip, so I don't think you should accept it as normal operation.
  20. Mine took 9 weeks from order to delivery. About 3 weeks of that was transit time from Toluca to Vermont.
  21. They have their return policy posted on their website. http://coastaletech.com/blank14.htm
