  1. So now the question is, is it the R/T trim that's adding the bigger brakes or the AWD? No way to tell in Canada I guess since they're the same thing. I'll see what I can find on my dealer's lot.
  2. Do Crews with AWD exist in Canada? I thought AWD was only on the R/T up north? Mine definitely has the calipers that are in your pictures of the smaller brakes. It was built in November of 2011. I'll swing by my local dealer and see which brakes are on the DJs on the lot.
  3. Maybe it has nothing to do with the trim level or whether it has AWD. Perhaps they just switched over to the bigger brakes as of a certain date.
  4. I had the front breaks on my 2012 Crew AWD replaced at 3000 miles because of excessive scoring. They didn't put the bigger ones on it. How do you know it's the AWD that's dictating the bigger brakes and not the R/T trim level? Those can be had seperately in the US.
  5. I have a 2012 Crew with AWD, and my brakes appear to be the same size as the 2011 models.
  6. Is that via bluetooth or USB? I'm guessing the .aax file format is why it's not working form the SD card.
  7. I know the system doesn't start podcasts over, so it's obvioulsy cabable of making that decision based on the content type. Seems silly that they didn't do the same for audiobooks. It doesn't start over if you use an SD card or bluetooth streaming. One of those methods may be your only option unless Chrysler issues an update. I did hear from Chris (DodgeCares) that an update for the DJ Uconnect system is expected at the end of this month. He wasn't sure what specifidally will be addressed in the update though.
  8. Make sure they don't charge you for the second trip to have it activated. They should have done that as part of the install.
  9. I have a 2012 with the 8.4 screen, and voice command does control the music. However, every time the ignition cycles, the Uconnect system has to recatalog the iPod which drives me nuts. Voice control isn't available until after the recatolog finishes.
  10. Now that Weathertech has released the two hole version of their front mats, I'm trying to decide if it's worth spending the money on them since I already have the Huskies. I'm still interested in seeing pictures of the front Weathertechs installed if anyone has them. Thanks!
  11. For anyone who cares, Weathertech has finally released a two hole version of ther front mats for the Journey.
  12. I got it installed this morning. It was actually pretty easy. The emblem has two plastic posts and one clip on the back of it. It's held onto the grill with two little metal pieces that slide onto the posts and are held in place with friction (plus the clip). The problem is that you can't really get your hands on the back of the existing emblem without making a little more room. Luckily, it's easy to get enough room by unattaching the top of the cowl that's on top of the grill (the silver grill is actually clipped to the cowl). There are 5 plastic pop rivents that hold the cowl in place. These rivets are easy to get to and very easy to pop up and remove with a flat head screwdriver. Once the rivets are out, you can pull the top of the cowl/grill away from the car enough to get your hands behind the grill and reach the back of the existing emblem. Unclip the plastic clip on the end of the emblem first. Then push slowly but firmly on each of the plastic posts with a screwdriver handle (or anything else you've got handy) and you'll see the emblem start to move forward. Make sure you put the other hand right under the posts so that you'll catch the little metal friction pieces once they clear the posts. I accidentally dropped the first one, and it wasn't easy to retrieve. Once you've got the old one off, just put the new one in place. The clip on the end will automatically clip to the grill. Reach behind the grill again and slide the two metal friction pieces onto the posts. I slid them onto the posts as much as I could with my fingers and then used pliers to push them on a little more. Wiggle the emblem when you're done to make sure it's secure. Put the pop rivets back in place at the top of the cowl. That's it! I really like the little splash of color it adds to the grill.
  13. Yes, that does seem to be the case. I carefully made sure the album art for my entire library was embedded in each song in an attempt to get the album art to display correctly. But it didn't seem to matter. If the album art for a song is missing from the Gracenote database, the art won't be shown regardless of whether the art is embedded in the music file. I wish it would look in the Gracenote database and then look within the mp3 file if Gracenote doesn't have it.
  14. I don't know about the Fiat version, but I would think the required hardware would be there like in the Journey.
  15. I just picked up the new grill emblem with the red stripes since my DJ came with the older one without the stripes. Now I just have to figure out how to get the old one off and the new one on. For anyone who cares, the part # is 68159580AA and the cost was $23.85.
  16. I noticed the new update that Ford just released for their MyFordTouch system includes an updated GraceNote database. I wonder if Chrysler will ever release a similar update. Have they ever released an update for GraceNote?
  17. Looks like Chrysler has made the 4 cylinder available in the SXT to lower the price point. Interesting. http://www.trucktrend.com/features/news/2012/163_news120312_2012_dodge_journey_sxt/index.html
  18. Does the behaviour change if you turn off Music Cleanup?
  19. I think they do this so that they don't have any liability if you run out of gas. If they told you that you had exactly 10 miles before empty, and you ran out of gas at 8 miles, you'd probably be less than happy. They avoid taking any liability by not showing you the numbers once you get close to empty.
  20. Anyone know if that grill logo is part of the grill or if it is just snapped on? If it's easy to swap, I'm sure a lot of us would like to order one with the red stripes and swap it.
