Tranny should "learn" your driving style although some complain about shifting. Use the manual shifting, that's why dodge provides that option. Newer models have the bigger better brakes. My 2011 has the smaller ones, although I haven't had any problems yet. Mileage will improve too.

I still think the DJ looks cooler than most other crossovers. A refresh is probably a good thing though. The thing in the article that struck me is that there may not be any V6 DJs after the refresh. Dunno. Love the 3.6.

Coming in late here. . . CR is just silly and steeped in opinion.
The DJ is a large Avenger. Its a car (CUV). I kinda think the Pentastar DJ already is quite a sleeper. It will quietly blow the doors off of most vehicles on the road, and I feel like the suspension is quite good. When I take a corner at speed, there is almost no suspension dive. It isn't going to handle like a sports car because it is very top heavy (especially with bikes, surfboards, and gear on the roof Ha!). FWD hinders some, and while AWD may be better, its heavy and can be just another thing to cause problems. I once entered an off ramp intended for 25mph at 60mph unintentionally, the brakes and suspension handled that situation well enough to keep me alive, keep my DJ on the road, and the impress the passengers in the back seat with its performance. I looked pretty stupid, but my DJ saved my @$$. I have been happy with my purchase since 2011. Still runs like the day I brought it home.
    Peace.

Fine. You don't have auto headlights. Set the interior rotator switch just below the lowest detent and leave it there. It will dim the screen display when you manually turn your headlights on.

In snow, I try to not use my 4x4 in my Dakota. The thing to remember is that 4WD and AWD help you get going, but they don't help you stop! That's where the biggest problems are often realized.

On vacation in the Poconos. Drove through noreaster 3 inches of snow all day yesterday while shopping. Yes, it was a Cherokee, but never touched the transfer case. RWD all day. No problems. Just drove responsibly.

Don't know about carcomplaints.com. I find consumer reviews either completely inflated or completely negative and therefore pretty unreliable unless the are all pretty alike. My 2011 has been good.

Right. From what I have read here, AWD is FWD when the Service AWD light comes on. Seems to happen every time AWD is needed most. Glad I got FWD.

Yup : ) It's one thing to moan and complain, but at least ask for help in resolving issues. It's quite another just to join a forum and complain and bash and say the old: "I'll never buy a Dodge again!!!" Jeesh, if I had that attitude everytime something I bought had a problem, I would have nothing to own because I "would never buy another one".

ID3 tags have to be added to each mp3 file. One by one.

OK, so you've been using the SD card. Cool. How do you structure your files? I'm assuming a folder structure with Artist as the main folder, the Albums in that folder, and all the Songs in the correct Album folder. And, for the sake of the thread, would ID3 tagging the files allow album art to show? My assumption is that uconnect ignores album art unless you enable Gracenote. I know dhh3 would appreciate that info. Also, what is FAT format? Do I have to purchase a special FAT SD card? Thanks, rolly.
    Peace.

Album art can be added to mp3 files using a myriad of different ID3 tag programs. The question is this: Does uconnect ignore those tags in favor of Gracenote? The answer seems to be, Yes. If not, imbedding art is fairly straightforward. I'm not so interested in album art as I am sound quality. Album art is cool, but will the files play without skipping if I eliminate the iPod? One reason that I am hesitant to ditch the iPod is because I like my iPod playlists. With the iPod, there are features like the search by alphabet and play by genre. Sometimes you just want to listen to punk. Right?
I don't currently have a card reader for my PC, so that would be necessary in addition to the price of the SD card. Before I go out and spend money, I was hoping that others had some experience with the SD cards. If all I get is a list of files without any search functions and I have to give up all the playlists, I'm not sure I want to do it.
The iPod skips really really really really piss me off!
    Peace.

2011 and newer Chrysler Nav systems use garmin software.
Not sure why your unit is malfunctioning. Uconnect is proprietary. Dealer intervention is likely needed. Doubt a garmin update would fix your green screen. Good luck.

The DJ isn't invisible, people are brand blind. Marketing is everything. When all my friends really look at my DJ, they are impressed. When I get after it and the Pentastar pushes them back in their seat they are wow'd! They're not diggin' their 4 cyl as much anymore. Ha. Fit and finish in our DJs is just as good as anything out there, IMO.
Last 450 mile trip my DJ got 24.2 mpg with a bike on the roof, 3 passengers, and luggage. I'm still impressed.

I agree with SeXT, but if you don't want the dealership to have you DJ forever or have multiple failed repair attempts, I'd definitely try to find a way to either remedy (not fix) the problem or reproduce the problem before taking for service. A little detective work on your end will likely be invaluable to the tech. Good luck.

redtomatoman got a reaction from rolly in Did the Journey change your opinion of Dodge?
It seems to me that Dodge and Chrysler have been the convenient whipping boy for auto manufacturers. For whatever reason Chrysler's reliability record is seen as below the rest of the American auto makers and Japanese seen as the best. Maybe that's true, but I personally don't believe it. Its all marketing. Subaru vehicles are beloved in the US, but the fact is they lack fit and finish, IMO. Subaru vehicles in Canada, OTOH, are much less popular with Dodge clearly outselling them. Even in a wintery climate where awd is important. Marketing is powerful. I have a Dakota with nearly 250k miles on it as my daily driver. Runs great. All manufacturers have their strengths. I absolutely love my Pentastar and I think Dodge/Chrysler vehicles have pushed their styling as to be the coolest for decades. My opinion. I'm not at all surprised by my Dodge. Great car.
