  1. That's what I did on my 2011. EBC rotors and greenstuff pads. They have worked great over the last 3 years. Peace.
  2. While I agree that thoughtful informational posts are easier to understand and hence allow us to better help, folks have to be able to post what they want, when they want, and how they want. Sadly, many people have poor grammar and writing skills. Another issue is that English is many peoples' second or even third language. I think that even when language and grammar are not an issue, many people don't know what is important or just forget to include important information. I'm not sure how we could control input of info like year and engine size short of making those fields a required part of the post template. I guess that could be done by the forum moderator. I think its good that people here want to help others. Its a good thing that we get a little frustrated when information is omitted and we can't help. . . Its hard to help one post wonders or complainers. Those that really want help tend to return and clarify posts or add new info, I think. This forum has helped me over the years. Peace.
  3. My 2011 has been very good as well. One funny story. I was traveling to Vegas and I was late for a show. Of course it was snowing all the way from my home to flagstaff! After that it cleared up. I was passed by a federal police officer going almost 100mph. Desperate times call for desperate measures. So I got on his rear and we drove about 100mph all the way to Kingman. Continued to LV from Kingman with cruise control set at 95mph. Made it to my show on time. DJ was smooth as butter and didn't skip a beat. Still got 17mpg while traveling almost 100mph. Ha! I never drive that fast, but my DJ sure did save that day! Never did figure out why the fed was traveling so fast. He wasn't responding to a call that I could discern. Peace.
  4. Travel link is a pay service added to a sirius subscription, btw. I have sirius travel link and I have found it to be useful at times. No weather location choices means that there is something not right with your travel link or uconnect. I have at least 12 cities on my state choices in my 2011 uconnect menus. Colorado shows at least 12 different choices, including Denver, on my unit. I keep the weather on my home area as my favorite and it's useful when I am traveling towards home. I have used the nearest weather station option when traveling other places on a number of occasions. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the weather info, but one could say that about any weather source. I also use the gas station finder when trolling in unfamiliar areas. Its helpful to locate the next truck stop which is often the cheapest gas. Works fine. If your're paying for the service, I'd investigate further with sirius and/or your dodge service center. Peace.
  5. Welcome from 1.3 miles high! My 2011 still runs as good as the day I brought it home. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have. Peace.
  6. Love it or hate, the uconnect music capability is fairly limited. It is meant to be matched with an iPod or iTunes. I'm an android guy so I use an iPod. Works pretty flawlessly and is easy to keep updated. It's still weird bcuz it will not display album art. Gracenote s#!+. Bluetooth works well, but no song info at all. I will play my spotify sometimes. I've also heard about people who use the SD card reader with good success (even album art I think). I haven't gone to an SD card as my iPod is so easy to update. Uconnect is a little dumb, but probably better right? Keeps your eyes on the road. Ha! Peace.
  7. I have used clay bar on previous vehicles but never my DJ. I have just kept it waxed and clean and I haven't felt the need to clay bar. I have used my clay bar on my DJ windshield though. Clay bar then a good coat of wax on the windshield is pretty awesome for cleaning and making those sticky bugs easy to remove. Peace.
  8. Steering Column Control Module (SCCM). That's very likely your problem. Good luck. Peace.
  9. I put EBC drilled and slotted rotors with the greenstuff pads on my 2011. They look good and stop well. The 2011 models had the smaller brakes, though. If mine had the better oem brakes, I would have stayed with them. Peace.
  10. I have resisted the urge to get seatcovers due to the side impact airbags. I think most seatcovers will inhibit these airbags unless they are specifically designed to allow them to inflate. Honestly, I think most are not designed for side impact airbags. Correct me if I am wrong. The active headrests make installation a challenge as well. Peace.
  11. If you really want another DJ, I would stay 2013 or later models. I have a 2011 that has been great but I did have the pentastar cylinder head issue that was corrected without any further problems. I think 2013 and later have better uconnect software as well. While I don't know exactly what they are, 2009 and 2010 have some issues. The 3.5 isn't nearly the engine that the 3.6 is, fyi. I feel you, my beloved dodge dakota 4x4 has 257,000 on it. Looking at a wrangler when my dak retires. Peace.
  12. Perfect. Good luck with wheel maintenance. I assume that means rotations. . . Enjoy your DJ! Peace.
  13. I don't know the answer to your question. Why not just check the return policy of the store, keep the receipt, and return/exchange if the 350mm isn't sufficient? That's what I would do. Do you have a torque wrench? Peace.
  14. Hey now! I love my voice recognition for phone calls. Hardly a useless feature. It's possible to make a phone call without VR, but it's just a lot more dangerous. @ Bob, there is a tsb for the VR, although I'm not sure if it applies to your problem. Try another dealer. Peace.
  15. A roof rack may need to be your next purchase. I love my Yakima cross bars. There is almost nothing I can't tie on and get home on that thing. Sorry for your mishap. Best of luck getting that screen installed. Peace.
  16. There are other places to get these screens. Ebay is the first place I'd check. Just out of curiosity, how did your screen come to be cracked? Peace.
  17. Welcome to the forum. I have had a great experience with my 2011 3.6L. I wish you the same. Peace.
  18. The bag is a good idea. Not sure I've ever seen a tire in a plastic bag at any tire shop. Is there a specific name for these bags? Or do you have any more specific info about these bags when querying the minimum wage cashier that I'm sure I will encounter initially? I have no idea what a bag of this sort would look like or what a tire shop would need to put a tire in a bag for. Peace.

    Rolly

Rolly will be missed. . . Rest In Peace.
  20. Maybe I missed it, but during my quick review of the manual I didn't see ANYTHING about alignment. Nor does alignment ever appear in the maintenance schedule or recommendations. I even read the tire section of the manual. Did I miss it or do our DJs not need alignment? Peace.
  21. My DJ is mostly my trip rig. Driven mostly on the highway for long trips. . . Seems to drive fine in all aspects. I recently took it in for my 72 month maintenance. All was completed as requested (including new spark plugs) and all was fine according to the service guy. Additionally, they told me that my alignment was off. Initially, I ignored this comment because I doubted they put it up on the rack and assumed they were just attempting to get some more money on a "do no harm" type service that probably does not need to be done. I have been thinking about this since that time. I do remember that someone told me that our DJ alignment system is different than most vehicles. Not sure if that is true. Is there a way the service tech could tell that my DJ was out of alignment without putting it on the rack? Curious what others have experienced with alignment. Have other's had alignment issues or had their DJ aligned? Please post your experiences and comments. Peace.
  22. Good info in the cummins post, but is there anything useful that can be done within these menus? Peace.
  23. If you believe that it's coming from the vents and you have warranty, take it to the dealer. Not sure that's your best bet, but maybe they can solve the problem. If not, an AC professional may be more effective. Good luck. Peace.
  24. One other thing. I assumed that the smell was coming from the interior. If it's coming through the vents, that's a whole other ballgame. You may be smelling mold and mildew through your vent and AC system. Cleaning that can be difficult. Not impossible, but difficult. Consult an AC professional. The dealer may not be your best bet. Peace.
