  1. Don't worry about it that small hole you see is the drain hole to let out water created by your exhaust, the dent might just now be the lowest drain spot due to being hit ,,that said it might rust out a bit faster in the next 4-5 yrs but i wouldn't be worried about it just depends on much salt they use on the roads up there.... all journeys leak water out of there...also welcome to the group:welcome:

  2. i use the K-N air filter that you have to oil,,,also have the cabin air filter K-N as well.... Both have worked out great for me and no problems at 149 k on this journey and also the eng air filter is the K-N that i had on my 2011 and swapped out to my 2014 when i bought it actually swapped it out in the dealership parking lot with the salesman watching me......LOL   so 12 yrs of use on it

  3. one thing about our transmissions , they learn how you shift and then if someone else drives it for a bit that drives a lot different from on how you drive it can recalabraight itself, that said my 2014 sometimes (not to often) will hesitate when shifting or downshifting if driven differently from what i just had been driving, not sure if this is what you are noticing ....also no mention of miles and if you are the org owner?

  4. we just got home from the dr office, I didnt notice it after it was warmed up today... one thing tho, yrs ago the dodge dealership had to replace my oil pressure sensor and they had removed the air intake tube that runs from the air box to the rear of the engine and when they reassembled it they left the adjustment clamp loose and the tube was kind of floppy at the connection band for around 4-5 months, and  the journey was having a loud noise that went up and down with the engine speed till i finally tracked it down to that loose connection... LOL never trust any mechanic......

    Dear Forum, HELP

My car is overheating. Here is a list of things I’ve done and some facts as well.

    WHAT I HAVE DONE

    1.       Flushed the system twice once with Prestone radiator cleaner and once with blue devil flush. I left both in the vehicle at different times and drove for 2 days on and off.

    2.       Replaced the Thermostat

    3.       Put a garden hose on one of the inlets to the heater core and ran water through the whole system. It flows really well and it appears to not be clogged at all.

    4.       Put a garden hose on the hoses that come out of the reserve tank(the tank where you put the water and coolant) and ran water through the whole system. It flows really well and it appears to not be clogged at all

    5.       Prayed, Cursed and cursed some more

    6.

    FACTS

    1.       120,000 miles on the car

    2.       I don’t have heat on the passenger side

    3.       It seems to overheat on hills mostly

    4.       I checked to see if the tank where you fill the coolant bubbles when revving the engine and it does. It bubbles and goes up and down a bit.  I did this a s a test for the water pump.

    5.       The fan pops on as soon as it gets hot as far as I can tell. When I stop the car the fan is on full blast.

    6.       No water in the oil or oil in the water

If anyone has any advice on what it can be given the facts etc please reach out to me. I’m thinking maybe its the water pump but id hate to go through all that and that’s not it. Any links to how and replace water pump if that’s what you think it may be will be greatly appreciated

if you have flushed it twice and as well trying to flush out the heater core  still no heat on the passenger side  the heater core is a dual zone core ,it will bypass the plugged side for the passenger side ,probally need a new heater core installed, also check the blend doors on the passanger side to see if they are activating as well, you will want to  check out youtube for the shortcut on installing one...the water pump might be going bad since you have done all that you have said you have completed hard to give advise without the journey being checked out by a qualified mechanic, you can keep guessing on what to do or have it checked out before you overheat it and ruin the engine

  6. Guess we will never know as posters are usually only concerned about their own problem and NEVER report back as to what fixed their problem, which is a shame as that is what does not help others that might encounter the same problem,,,, that said i have a 2014 in alabama and upon start up yes i do hear the power steering whine for a while, guess i have just got use io it the slight kocks i hear when going over a small bump or dip bothers  me more than anything else, but it is what it is

  7. after your first post i googled it and seen what you are talking about the coolant filter ,and yes that would be a big help i would assume, BUT  flush of the coolant thur the engine  and or heater core  would be the first thing i would do before changing out the next heater core,,, but the filter looks like it might be a good choice for you,,,please report back on what you end of doing.....AND by the way welcome to the group as well:welcome:

  8. i wouldn't buy any AWD vehicle, there is  just to much potential problems and expense along with the maintenance as well..... and even tho i live in al and we only get a short winter of ice and snow, i grew up in Mi and somehow survived the long winters with just rear wheel drive... with FWD i can drive just about anywhere with ice and snow just as well as AWD

Yes, the factory 19's like posted are very good looking. My wifes '13 RT has then original just in the plain aluminium color on a grey DJ. Just be prepared for price shock for tires for it! You can probably find a nice set of "take offs due to many NOT wanting to pay the price for tires and going back to 17's

%rebel0 is being very correct on the price of 19 inch tires and i have had 2 journeys,, one 2011  with 17 inch tires which i balanced and rotated  every 5 k and they were the OEM  org kumos lasted for 55 k and still had good tread on them, when i traded in on for my 2014 with 19 inch which i am on my 5 set of tires (Name brand, cooper, and  continental) and have 144 k  and as well they have been maintained the same as the 17 were........

  10. probally the 2.4 eng , and to be honest lauriezi63 you need to find a different mechanic other than pep boys as i have know 3 different people  i know that use them and they all had bad repair luck when using them...other than that without knowing which eng and part you are talking about it is hard to answer correctly

    People also ask

How much torque should an inner tie rod have?
