  1. I have had this fuel gauge problem with my 2011 Crew since day 1. There is a separate thread on here about it somewhere. They replaced a part, I can't remember what, based on the advice of DodgeCares, I believe. It actually made the problem worse. I can drive around for a full day, sometimes 2 days, with the needle below the E and when I go to fill up, I can barely squeeze 65 litres into the tank, which holds 78 litres. Rarely when I fill up completely does the needle go to the F or past the F. Most times, it will get close to the F but that's it. After I drive for 30 or 40 kms, the needle then moves to the 7/8ths mark. Very frustrating and very inaccurate fuel gauge!
  2. The fuel gauge and consequently, the low fuel warning light, is very inaccurate in my 2011 Crew, even after a "fix" last fall. I'm convinced this is a common problem in the Journey. More people keep bringing up this issue. Yesterday I filled up with the gauge below the E. I put 64 litres in. The gas pump actually clicked off just past 60 litres. My tank is 78 litres. When I fill up completely, the gauge does go past the F but it starts dropping very quickly. It will typically go to 7/8ths in less than 50 kms. My fuel gauge is so inaccurate it is a joke. I'm pretty sure it is worse now than before the fix they applied. The fix was a new fuel pump, I believe.
  3. My 2011 Nav is Garmin, same as the 2012/2013. Are you sure you don't see the compass heading in the NAV button at the bottom of the display while driving?
  4. My 2011 Crew has the 8.4N. It has always shown the compass heading on the EVIC screen and on the Nav button at the bottom of the 8.4N screen, so I have it in two places. The compass heading has never shown at the top of my 8.4N screen. I also have the menu settings for variance and recalibration.
  5. When the nav voice is talking, you can turn up the volume which will only affect the nav voice. It remembers whatever you change the volume to while the nav voice is talking. This will not affect the volume of the radio.
  6. Unfortunately, doing that also changes kms to miles on all the Evic screens. There is no way to just change, say, the Kpa to PSI and leave the rest at metric.
  7. I agree and I have said as much a few posts back. The "fix" did nothing to fix my inaccurate fuel gauge. In fact, it might actually be worse now than it was before the fix. I can drive around with the needle on the E for an entire day and still not be able to put more than 65 litres in the tank. When I really fill it up, the gauge will sometimes go past the F but it drops to 7/8 really quickly, like after 25 kms or so.
  8. Every vehicle I have owned with a compass has only ever showed the direction you are travelling. I don't see what you find confusing about this. N means you are driving north, etc. Pretty obvious.
  9. I wonder if, like me, your fuel gauge is completely out of whack? I'd like to know, when your fuel gauge is on the E, how many litres can you get in a fill up?
  10. I can understand companies being conservative with the gauge being on the E but 14 litres as in my most recent fill up? In a 78 litre tank, that is 18% of the tank still with fuel in it but the gauge showing that you should be running on fumes.
  11. I filled up yesterday. The gas gauge was slightly below the E, which should have meant that I was basically running on fumes. I was only able to get 58 Litres in the tank before the pump clicked off!!!! I was able to squeeze it up to 64 litres, at which point the gas was starting to flow out of the filler neck. The gas gauge did go just slightly past the F. Clearly, I was nowhere near empty, given that the tank holds 78 litres. I still had approx. 14 litres of gas in the tank, despite the gas gauge being BELOW the E! The new fuel pump has not fixed this issue for me. If anything, it is actually worse now that before the fix.
  12. DodgeCACares, This was discussed quite a while ago with DodgeCares and he advised us that the 2011's didn't have the correct hardware to support voice commands for controlling music playback. That made no sense to me since it obviously works for controlling the phone and changing radio stations or switching from radio to satelllite, etc. It's ONLY the voice control commands for music playback that don't work in the 2011's. I have the 8.4N radio.
  13. If you haven't already, maybe you should find a different dealer for service? There are good ones out there!
  14. DodgCACares, drozz has a 2011 Crew like me. I confirmed with Chrysler long ago that the 2011's do not have voice command of music playback. I was told that the necessary hardware was not in the 2011's and this functionality only started working with the 2012's. The real piss-off in all this is that the owner's manual lists all of the commands for controlling music playback but NONE of them work.
  15. I just checked my repair order and I can confirm that the part number listed is 05145614AB.
  16. We discussed this a while back. The 2011's do NOT have any ability to voice control playback of music. Despite it being in the manual, that functionality was not added until the 2012 model. The 2012 model also received voice control for the NAV system. The 2011 has no voice control for the NAV system. I'm still pissed about this, even after having owned my 2011 for almost 2 years.
  17. Chris, I had this TSB performed last Friday the 4th of January and it has NOT fixed my problem. The service rep told me that there were two parts to the TSB - first check to ensure the vehicle had the latest version of the software as there was supposedly a fix there for the fuel gauge (my Journey already had the correct version of the software), then the other step would be to replace the fuel pump, which they say they did. When I did my first fill up that day, the gauge barely made it to the F and that was with me slowly filling the tank to the top. Also, the gauge has already dropped to the 3/4 mark after only about 50 kms of driving. I think it is inaccurate when it gets to the E as well. Several times, I have been on the E for a bit and could barely get 65 litres in the tank before the gas pump shut off. Even then trying to squeeze in more, I could usually not make it to 70 litres. So the tank was quite far from being empty, even when the gauge was on the E for a day or two of driving. I'd be happy to be a guinea pig if Chrysler wants to do any further testing.
  18. It is what it is and I doubt it will change much, if any. It is after all, a Fiat/Dodge and not a BMW.
  19. FYI, for anybody with a 2011-2012 with the 8.4N radio, the 2013 map update is available for sale on www.navigation.com for $149 + shipping and taxes. From the website, this update is compatible with the following vehicles that have either the 430N or 8.4N (both Garmin nav) radios: Chrysler 200 (2011-12) Chrysler 200 Convertible (2011-12) Chrysler 300 (2011-12) Chrysler Town & Country (2011-12) Dodge Avenger (2011-12) Dodge Caliber (2011-12) Dodge Challenger (2011-12) Dodge Charger (2011-12) Dodge Durango (2011-12) Dodge Grand Caravan (2011-12) Dodge Journey (2011-12) Dodge Nitro (2011) RAM 1500 (2011-12) RAM 2500/3500 (2011-12) RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (2012) RAM 4500/5500 (2012) Jeep Compass (2011-12) Jeep Grand Cherokee (2011-12) Jeep Liberty (2011-12) Jeep Patriot (2011-12) Jeep Wrangler (2011-12) The website also says that the 2009/2010 Journey with the REU radio has a 2013 update available, also for $149 + shipping and taxes.
  20. For the life of me, I cannot understand why you haven't gotten rid of your Journey as there seems to be virtually nothing that you like about it. Practically every post you make is a complaint about something on your Journey. By the way, my cruise control works perfectly.
  21. This procedure has been discussed multiple times on this forum. A simple search (or reading your manual) would have found the info you required, without creating yet another thread about it.
  22. I have the same issue with the brake pedal in my 2011 while stopped. After being stopped for a few seconds, it moves further towards the firewall, almost like pushing on a cushion, as you say.
