Remote Not Rolling Down Windows
drb227 replied to SueBOhio's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
What?? Why would people complain about this? It's a great feature! Do you know why people complained? -
Rear Camera relocation to Centre of tailgate

I'm not sure why the part number would be different for the '12. My '11 Crew has the rear camera centered above the license plate, same as the '12. -
Remote Not Rolling Down Windows
drb227 replied to SueBOhio's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Wow, not working on an RT? Do both of your front windows have auto up and down via the power window switches? I have that and the key fob window roll down works by pressing the unlock button twice in a row and holding on the second press. After about 3 seconds or so, the front windows start to roll down. -
What is the name of this part? (Rear Bumper)
drb227 replied to Ditto110's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I've been rear-ended twice in my 2011 Crew. The first time, the bumper had to be replaced because it was badly damaged. The second time, there were only a few scratches and two small gouges but the dealership said that they cannot repair gouges in plastic, so I had the bumper replaced again. -

Wow, I'm sorry but your posts are really hard to read. So many words misspelled. So many grammatical errors. Your signature line doesn't make up for not even trying to spell or make proper sentences. -
Window switches w/ express feature
drb227 replied to Mcgusto82's topic in Accessories, Modifications
My 2011 Crew (Canada) has express up and down on both front windows and I can roll down both front windows using the key fob. -
GPS Update

Go to www.navigation.com and search for your vehicle to buy the navigation update disc you need. -
We are talking about people who post pictures using the forum's photo hosting. No issue with pictures hosted at other sites.

Yeah, I've been having the same problem as well. This needs to be fixed!
-
Well said. It is so much easier to read when someone can use spelling, grammar and punctuation correctly!

You know that that thread is talking about the 2009/2010 model with the 3.5L engine, right? We have the 3.6L and I've never read anything from Chrysler about 89 octane fuel being recommended. To me, it's just an added expense with no real benefit. This is what is says in the manual for my 2011: This engine is designed to meet all emissions regulations and provide excellent fuel economy and performance when using high-quality unleaded “regular” gasoline having an octane rating of 87. The use of premium gasoline is not recommended, as it will not provide any benefit over regular gasoline in these engines.

Man, you need to relax a bit! You seem to be looking for problems. A little bit of engine vibration is normal in any vehicle. Enjoy your new vehicle!

2012 Crew with 8.4" and loaded - a little shaking?
drb227 replied to nabeez's topic in Owner Impressions
I deal with Downsview Chrysler and have had zero problems with them. -
Yeah, I'd like to see where they say that 89 fuel is recommended.

Count yourself lucky, that's all. On any given day, that vehicle (with a willing driver) will leave the Journey eating it's dust. It's no contest.
-
There is no doubt that the driver of the 335i either wasn't really trying or is a really crappy driver. The 2010 335i is substantially faster than the Journey. Numerous car magazines have gotten 0-60 times of just under 5 seconds.

I got the steel rims and tires from Simply Tire in Toronto. I've used them for a few years now. Great prices. I bought the Gislaved Nordfrost 5 tire (not the cheapest option but wow, what a great winter tire!). I paid $850 + taxes.
-
You should look for 17" winter tires on steel rims. Much more selection and easy to swap in the spring and fall. The 17" size for the Journey is 225/65-17. Steel rims need to be OEM or there will be clearance issues with the front calipers. I went with 16" steel rims and winter tires for my 2011 Crew but I'm not sure if your 2012 Crew has the new, larger brakes that we've been hearing about. It seems that the larger brakes may be too big for 16" rims to fit.

Welcome! I don't see any pic though? Wow, a 2012 Journey with 21K on it already?

This pissing contest is getting a little out of hand. The simple fact is, not paying for the map upgrade is simply wrong in my view. Too many people think they should be entitled to too many things for free. Garmin is not extorting anybody, that is foolish. They are a company and need to make money to stay in business. You can either buy their upgrade disk (regardless of what you think it should cost) or not. I bought one and I feel it was expensive and I knew that when I ordered it. It's not something I will likely do again for a few years, given the cost. It's simply the way it is. Why would Garmin explain how to load maps on their devices that they have no control over and there is no profit in it for them? Who does business like that??

It might get close to 900 if driven the same way I did, plus I think the gas tank in the AWD is 2 litres bigger?
-
The 2011 and 2012 also have the volume buttons on the back.
-
Yeah, 120 with a lot of passing means you are not going to get spectacular mileage. Still not bad though! Last summer I was able to get 7.8 on one tank of all highway driving (911 kms!). That was with only me in my 2011 Crew and with the cruise at 110 the whole time. Start adding people/luggage and higher speed and the mileage obviously suffers but the highway mileage is still great for such a large V6 and vehicle.

Wow, 3000 kms one way! Now that's a road trip!!!
