  1. To me, it's not an issue with the fuel gauge. I can definitely fill it completely full if I'm lucky enough to be at a pump where it allows the gas to come out really slowly. In normal filling, if I stop when the pump clicks off the first time, I'm at 7/8ths on the gauge at most. On numerous occasions, I have been able to put at least another 10 litres in the tank after the first time the pump clicks off. At that point, my gas gauge goes to just past the F mark. If all Chrysler is going to do is modify the fuel gauge so that it shows full when it's really only at 7/8ths, I'll take a pass on that fix. Based on my experience, the fix required is with the filler neck or somewhere along the line to the gas tank.
  2. Mine will definitely shift into 6 but it has to be over 70 kph as that appears to be the minimum speed at which it will normally shift automatically into 6th if you are accelerating very lightly. Next time you get to 70+, try letting off the gas pedal a bit and manually shifting into 6th. It should work just like mine does.
  3. Mcgusto82 and bigtsr: What I have described is exactly how my 2011 Crew with the V6 works. I am not making this up. It most definitely will upshift and downshift to every gear manually, including 6th. It won't downshift to 1st until you are practically stopped but it does do it. It also absolutely upshifts to 6th(above 70 kph) but I have found that you need to let up a bit on the gas pedal most of the time for the upshift to 6th but it ALWAYS works. Also, I can start out in any gear from 1st to 4th, no stalling, no problem. Please stop telling me that I am wrong. I know what I am talking about.
  4. Absolutely not the same as the Caravan. As I said, it does not work like the auto stick in many other Chrysler vehicles (which are just gear limiters). I use it frequently and it absolutely will upshift when you tap it to the right and downshift when you tap to the left.
  5. The difference is, I can buy a new iPhone for a couple hundred bucks if I want to upgrade. Not quite that easy with a vehicle!
  6. Don't know about the shift points. It is a true auto stick, unlike many current Chrysler vehicles. It won't shift until you tap it or it goes to redline. It will also automatically downshift if your speed gets too low for the current gear. Works quite well.
  7. We absolutely got the shaft. There is a hell of a lot more voice functionality that was added to the 2012 model that I don't understand why we couldn't have had or had a software update to add at least some of the functionality.
  8. Just one more way we 2011 owners got the shaft when it comes to functionality of our 8.4" radios compared to the 2012 model.
  9. The dealership is full of crap. The friggin' owner's manual says to change the oil at a maximum of every 6 months or 13000 kms (not that I would ever go that long between oil changes). The dealership is seriously misinformed. I change my oil when the EVIC says to, which is typically 6000 kms of normal city driving but once it was close to 10000 kms of mostly highway driving.
  10. I've never understood why they dropped the towing capacity to 2500 lbs, especially when the pentastar has a lot more power than the 3.5 L. I'd be pissed if I bought my Journey with the intention of towing something over 2500 lbs.
  11. The problem is that you complain so much and so often (and seemingly about a number of small things) that people get tired of hearing from you. Just sayin' ......
  12. Man, you sure do complain an awful lot about your Journey. If you have that many problems with it, get rid of it!
  13. It's impressive how the rear end of the Journey doesn't appear to be weighed down at all! The rear suspension must be fairly stout.
  14. I have the GPS in my 2011 Crew and have never had to adjust the time. One of the menu options is Sync with GPS Time.
  15. Find another dealer, quickly! Factory mistake??? Jesus, they are just making shit up. I always do my oil changes based on when the EVIC says it's time and it has almost always been around 5500 - 6000 kms, which is right in line with your 3500 miles. No way in hell I would go 8000 miles (13000 kms) between oil changes, especially with the first oil change.
  16. Yeah, I'm thinking you may be correct, which sucks if that is the case.
  17. Please do a search on this forum. There are a number of discussions about these crappy, impossible to find tires.
  18. In my case, it is definitely not a gas gauge issue. At most pumps, when the pump first clicks off, the gauge shows approx. 7/8ths full. Many times, I have been able to add between 5 and 10 litres after this before the tank is really full!! So, for me, it is an issue actually getting the tank full.
  19. I guess I'm lucky or past the date of these original build engines. My 3.6 has been rock solid over 15 months and 35000 kms.
  20. This is fantastic news! I really hope this is a real fix as this is one of the few things that really bugs me about my Journey.
  21. Avoid the 11? Why? My 2011 Crew has been fantastic.
  22. No, my 2011 Crew was built in January of 2011. The camera was relocated to the centre spot starting with the 2011 model year.
  23. Likely because the Journey uses the new Uconnect Touch 4.3 and 8.4 systems, whereas the Jeep still uses the older models.
