  1. The 4cyl has only been paired with the 4 speed in the Journey. I had always hoped it would get the 2.0 turbo and the eight speed auto but that was only a pipe dream lol
  2. Hey Everyone! I just wanting to share my thoughts on how the fwd 4cyl handles winter weather. So far we’ve only encountered some pretty heavy ice and a little snow. So far so good. It’s not going to tackle a mountain range but it’ll get you to work no problem. What weather have you all been in?
  3. The Journey and I have been on some winter adventures that a fwd 4cyl probably should not be doing but I like a challenge!
  4. Welcome to the forum!
  5. So I’ve been using the TRIL GEAR cross bars I found on Amazon since I bought my Journey and they have worked out beautifully! Very close to OEM. I also bought these folding kayak brackets to go on them! So far so good! I’ll put links in here. cross bars https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07N77BZB5?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Kayak Brackets https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B087C1H1N4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
  6. CarPlay isn’t available on the Journey but they’re many great aftermarket head units I’ve seen done that would have it. Welcome to the forum!
  7. That sucks! Plastic gets brittle with age which you would think a hose T would last a bit longer than that. I’d check for a decent used engine. They’re pretty common since they were also used in the Avenger. If you have a good local mechanic who knows what they’re doing then a rebuild might be possible but there’s no telling what has happened on the inside.

    New here

Welcome!! Hope there are many more happy miles ahead!
  9. Glad to see you have had a good experience with it! I agree the Nav units on these and even the newer FCA vehicles are super buggy! I know my Renegade’s radio would sometimes take several minutes to come on. (So does our 4Runner’s). I prefer the simpler head units they seem to work a lot better.
  10. For real. That also grinds my gears. Along with no spare tires, people who don’t know how to change a spare tire, people who neglect maintenance. Lol I could go on as well
  11. A 1990 Toyota Pickup. I don’t have a garage so they just park next to each other!
  12. Hi everyone! I have actually been on the forum for a little bit, but I haven’t had a chance to get a good photo of the Journey so we could do an introduction post. I used to work at a DCJRF dealer and I have even completed several UConnect training courses. I want to use what I know to help with any questions or problems someone may have. Now back to the Journey. I decided to go with the SE with the preferred equipment over the Crossroad just because I knew it would be less to tear up down the road and mainly I found a great deal on this one! Anyway, glad to be here!
  13. Lol I did! I just figured I would post it just in case someone else can through with the same issue
  14. The 4 cylinder is probably more reliable if the two but you may appreciate the extra power of the v6. I have the 4 cylinder and love it! Reliability is questionable on all new vehicles so the important thing is that these are easy and cheap to fix for the most part.
  15. It’s crazy how good the 4cyl mpg can be. I’m currently getting anywhere from 24.2 to 27.3 mpg in mixed driving with hills and stop and go! I think dodge just phoned in the mpg ratings on the 4 cylinder since they thought everyone would just buy the v6.
  16. It probably needs the software flash since it didn’t have auto A/C
  17. Sounds like a connection or a ground in the wiring from the door to the body. I have seen this issue before but I am not sure what wire it would be.
  18. Welcome! The 4cyl is an acquired taste! My experience with it has been pretty good. It’s not a rocket but it’s plenty of power for regular everyday driving.

    Hi All

    Welcome to the forum!
  20. I have the 4 cyl and I have been averaging 24.3 mpg (calculated and computer agree) my daily commute is roughly 25 miles one way. Do you do a lot of stop and go?
  21. I have the 2.4L and I typically average 24.3 in mixed driving. So far my best mpg was 27.2 but I haven’t taken it on any long trips yet. Glad to see the 3.6 gets such good mpg. I’ve been trying to convince one of my friends to buy one!
  22. Anything other than Armor All should be fine. Meguiars and Mother’s are good products! I’ve been using them for years on many cars. Rainx makes a great glass cleaner and water repellent. Anyways Best of luck!
  23. The 4 cylinder isn’t bad for most part but if you are regularly hauling six people the v6 will spark more joy. I have the 4 cylinder and it’s been pretty great though I will agree it’s not a rocket ship. Though the mid to high 20’s in mpg is worth it. All depends on how you are going to use it. Compared to the Tigershark and the nine speed either powertrain will feel great! Best of luck!!
