So I've got nearly 1000 miles with the new filter and it's holding 24-26 mpg. I'm pretty happy with the results. I just tooknow a 500 mile round trip and got 26 down and 25 back. 500 miles on a single tank.

So, I recently picked up this 2016 Journey Crossroads AWD v6 and fairly new to this forum.  I drive on average about 400 miles per week between my commute to work and misc trips in the evening.  My previous SUV was a Chevy Equinox v6 awd.  My mileage in that averaged 23 miles per gallon.  The DJ is rated for 24 mpg I think highway but I was only seeing 20-21mpg driving the same speed, same roads.  I've read the complaints about the DJ before buying and seems like alot of people complain about the mpg not being so go.  I too was seeing this and figured its was par for the coarse.  Still really like driving the DJ so mileage is what the mileage is.  Since the SUV has almost 12k mileage on it, I figured I'd swap out the air filter. I personally like to swap them around 10k or clean them at that point if I have one that can be cleaned. I thought I'd try AEM Dry filter (28-20470) in the DJ and see if it helps/hurts/stays the same.  Over the years, I've used performance filters in almost all my cars and mostly used K&N drop in's but since they're oiled, I've been using dry filters that are cleanable.  I have the AEM dry filter in my SRT and saw really no noticeable difference mileage or performance but peace of mind for me that I can clean it and really never have to buy another one.  I pulled the original filter out, and it was dirty, but true be told, I've seen worse.  I installed the new AEM filter, I fueled up and off to work I go.  Instantly I'm seeing 24 mpg running 73-75mph.  So.. fast forward 3 days of travel and a couple local trips and my average is reporting 23.5 mpg!!! Same speed, same road, same trips.  Obviously I'm going to continue to watch it for a while but first impression shows a solid 1-2 mpg improvement.

I'll keep you posted if anyone cares and report back my findings after a couple weeks and fill ups.

Can't say for sure but the sensors do have batteries in them and they have a life span.  I'd start there and replace all of them and see if the issue goes away.  If not, then you know the issue lies in the system reading the sensors.

I would have your own mechanic look at it and the work done to it.  If that checks out, and you plan on driving it into the dirt, then I say go for it.  Otherwise, if you plan on selling it in a few years, the R-title will make it worth nearly nothing because most people will be afraid of it.

It does look nice from the photos but those can be deceiving sometimes.

Thats not what the dealership told me but it wouldn't be the first time the dealership was wrong.  Mine is "nav ready" so they say and said $495 to install it.  I'll buy a portable garmin for $100 with life time updates before spending that if it was even an option.

I wouldn't get to excited.  Did you test drive the vehicle before purchasing it?  I'm sure it's a simple fix, just requires a quick trip to the dealership to get it straight (pun intended).

Parts have been ordered and should be ready for install within the next week or so.  When I purchased the vehicle, it was advertised with remote start.  Well guess what.. it had no remote start.  The dealership is stepping up and having it installed for me.  Once that's done, it goes in for the backup camera.  The particular dealership doing the install won't give me the part numbers but once I get the paper work back after the install, I'll post them for others who maybe interested.

The fuel filter has nothing to do with the accuracy of the gauge.  The sending unit is what reports the volume of gas in the tank. If your gauge is fixed, they replaced the sending unit which probably has a new fuel filter built into it.

My dealership said there's an oem option and it would cost me a little over $400 for the parts and install.

I just got our 2016 DJ Crossroad plus AWD in Granite the other day and really like it so far.  As others I've read have found out after the purchase, I too am missing the auto headlights.  I can live without that feature but surely never thought a nearly new vehicle would come with out that option std.  Our previous vehicle had backup camera, this one does not.  I'm going to fix that soon and have my local dealer install.

I've put about 300 miles on it so far and can say it stands above the previous LT2 Equinox v6 AWD we had.  This is a second vehicle for us, my daily (summer) car is a 2013 SRT Dodge Charger.  The Journey compliments our needs.  I just wanted to introduce myself quick since I'm new.
