Hankster got a reaction from jkeaton in 2.4 stumble and hesitation
Update, the stumble and hesitation has been gone for over a year now, but has again started to do it. I found a couple of reasons first aluminum grit in the throttle body that seemed to be interfering with the throttle plate. The grit was from corrosion between the housing and the rubber air pipe. It was an easy job to pull out and clean.Second I also pulled the year old iridium spark plugs and put the specified nickel plugs obtained from my dealer. The driveability  has improved and this car now runs smoother that I thought possible. If you are having hesitation, stumbles, bad shifting this definitely  is worth a look. I had to go to the dealer for the proper spark plugs all the part stores in my area all recommended Iridium or platinum spark plugs for this engine even though they are not apparently compatible and only lasted 20,000kms.

The intake manifold doesn't have any coolant running through it. Pick up a test kit to check for exhaust gas in the coolant, and a compression test.

Probably an easy fix. Is that the only issue? I personally really like my Journey!

I would suspect battery cable  ends or bad connection. Take the wheel and fender liner off and take a closer look.

Was there ever a journey version sold with manual shift in North America? Possibly the caliber or patriot parts would work

Maybe the system froze up causing the damage. Was the freeze protection ever checked?  sounds suspect to me

Have you seen the service keyless entry system soon message? I have  and also have intermittent issues with the drivers door handle switch. I am not worried about  it and use the lock button on the fob instead. Damp weather seams to agrivate it.

I replaced the battery in my 2013 without any problems. No need to visit the dealer or reprogram anything. Just buy the best battery with the best warranty you can find.

I have an Auto Vox dash cam built into the rear view mirror and has a backup cam as well. I am using it in my 07 Caravan. I really like this cam and will probably put one in the Journey as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I found some Michelin X ice Winter tires on steel rims and next summer will replace the Kumhos with new summer tires.

As an alternative to getting winter tires has any one tried all weather tires? Any recommendations as to brand? I don't want to give up my smooth quiet ride.

Hankster reacted to Lebowski in 4.3 Backup Camera Install
Finally I managed to install the camera.
First I fabricated a license plate light with the camera (I don't want to drill holes, just in case):

Then I passed the cable, roughly using the guide for the oem camera (roughly because the guide is wrong in places and I didn't want to dismantle the whole car). This is where the cable ends:

And this is the camera installed.

The other end of the cable goes behind the glove box:
    1) cable from the camera
    2) cable to the gps (power supply and video)
    3) 5v power supply, the grey cable is for the gps/camera, the black one is for the tmc receiver/bluetooth module.
    4) dc-dc converter scavenged from an old network card (to isolate grounds, otherwise the video was bad)
    5) switch for the camera (provisional, I don't want to make any modification to the car, just in case Fiat would use that as an excuse not to fix the radio)
    6) partially covered here's a tmc receiver with a bluetooth to serial converter

And this is what the camera shows

Next steps: install a microswitch in the gear lever (so that I can detect reverse independently from the main circuit, but I don't know how to remove the knob without breaking it), install a front parking camera, install a microcontroller to control the cameras.
