I looked at these shortly after purchasing my DJ. I decided instead of paying for something to stick on and hope it works I'd try plastidip since I had a few cans sitting around. For $6 and about a half hour to an hour of time the plastidip has held strong for about 9 months now. Even with multiple dogs jumping in and out.

I found this set on ebay. Although it did come from China, the Stainless Steel seems to be as good as anything I have seen from the States.

The light from my garage door window makes it look distorted in the center, but it is flat. Took about a week to get here.

We had a 2013 Dart and liked everything about it except for sitting so low. Prior to the Dart we were in modestly lifted Wrangler Unlimited.

This nearly got me a speeding ticket:

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead:
Any updates on this part? I figure more products/lower prices could be found now that the Journey has reached maturity.
    Thanks.

Agree... All of those batteries end up in the dump and they are not recyclable nor do they biodegrade over time.

FYI, the Journey is definitely not a gas guzzler. Not when the V6 can easily achieve over 30 mpg.
I don't understand the point of the Prius. It's expensive to buy, ugly as mortal sin (all generations), has no get-up'n'go to speak of, is damaging to the environment (how do you think that battery came into existance?), and the fuel economy figures are not very impressive compared to diesel VW Group vehicles and small-displacement Hondas. A hybrid does not yet exist that is worth buying. If you want good fuel economy and want to have a lower environmental impact, buy a modern diesel or a Tesla.

You can easily chirp from a stop, but there is no tire burning as it's FWD. I will say though, in sport with the electric motor assist, it's pretty quick to about 40mph. Then it hits optimal gearing and a herd of cattle could outpace it. i average 53+mpg on it, and generally have to fill it up every week for about $20. saves me $20 a week over the journey, and also since it's already got 120k miles on it, it saves me mileage on the journey. Truth is though, I tried to trade it in for the journey, but my estrainged wife refused to sign the title over to dodge.. she wanted to get every penny from it that she could in the divorce, even though i tried to explain to her that we owe 18k on it, and it's worth maybe 10... i managed to get the dealership to give me 12k in trade in and roll the rest into the journey.. but she's an idiot without basic math skills.... so there we are.

I would never own one but you seriously can't beat 50 mpg. I rented one in a business trip once. Drove it for like a week and used only a 1/4 tank of gas. But, I like my mid-20's daily driver.

    Some more observations -
The puddle lamps in the bottom of the doors are a nice feature. Both my wife and I like them. I just checked out the second row in floor storage. Very generous and useful. We are slowly getting used to the remote proximity keyless entry and keyless go. I still reach for my keys.
The height of the vehicle makes for easy in and out and the visibility out of the front windshield is excellent.

So I have had the Journey one day and did the first half of a 450 mile road trip.
It was mostly highway driving, nearly 4 hours, going from about 200' elevation to 2,000'. The 4 cylinder/6 speed had plenty of power. I was hauling a few hundred pounds of cargo and the car handled it with ease even when climbing mountains. No signs of struggle from the 2.4L. The transmission shifts are quiet, smooth and barely perceptible and power was delivered when needed.
The ride was quiet and comfortable and spending that much time on the road allowed me and the car to get acquainted.
Handling on twisting mountain roads very good, even at speeds of 50+ mph. EVIC was reporting around 28 mpg with the above stated load and my heavy foot. Cargo space with the rear seats folded down is cavernous. It swallowed up a 6' folding table easily.
Once evening fell, I found the headlights to be more than adequate and the high beams really cut through the total darkness.
Overall, I am quite impressed by the maiden "journey". I just have to load up a USB stick so I don't have to station surf.
This is not my first Dodge and is my 10th Mopar vehicle (5 Jeeps, 5 cars).

    Dhh3: Turnpike, I80, I180 and US15. Smooth cruising.
Bramfrank: My error on the tranny. I have no complaints about the powertrain.
