  1. I am interested in getting it looked at but I just haven't the time. I have several recalls i need to address also, but the closest dodge is in a town south of me, and being a single father doesn't afford me much time other than weekends to get it looked at.

  2. Got 75k miles on it but I have a 100k warranty. It's just a b!tch to do anything with the dealership because it's about an hour away and i'm a single dad, so getting there is difficult without taking a day off while he's at school. I will call a local place and maybe the dealer to see what they think. Someone told me the sensor was on the rack and pinion but I still can't find it there. If this sensor was a pokemon, it'd be a mythical.
  3. Yea i already have an account to chilton and it doesn't show that there is one. My guess is that it's built into the reservoir or the pump, which would suck. The reservoir less but still. I've searched and looked through the entire engine diagram and see nothing.
  4. Yea, sorry. Can't find anything newer than 2009. Crap. I really don't want to take it to dodge for a sensor that looks simple to replace on older DJ's. I guess i'll keep searching for the answer unless someone here knows what I need to replace, to get the sensor.
  5. After searching for a replacement, I can only find one for the 2009. Sounds like maybe they built it into the pump or the reservoir because there is no part number for them on anything older than 2009.
  6. If I back out of a parking spot, put the DJ in drive and accelerate (slow or fast doesn't matter) while turning the wheel, the headlights dim briefly, it sounds like a belt slipping or (as funny as it sounds) a blow off valve releasing pressure, and I lose power for a split second. It happens every single day and every time I pull out of a spot. The car bucks as power is restored and it shoots off. Weird sh!t for sure, and frustrating. I mentioned it to a mechanic buddy and he named a steering part, but I cannot for the life of me remember what he said. Anyone else experience this? *EDIT* Now that I think about it, he mentioned the power steering pressure sensor/switch.
  7. If you've replaced your bluetooth module under your dash and still have the broken one, I'm willing to pay shipping to have it sent to me. I want to rip it open and see if the module itself doesn't support metadata, or if the 8.4 just doesn't have the software to support it. If it's hardware related, I want to see if i can replace the bluetooth module (internally to the full plastic pos module) with one that supports metadata. Thanks, HawtDog
  8. Any chance someone has 2017.20 as a download I can grab. I just got a 8.4n to replace my 8.4 but i'm getting the map error. I've gotten most of the files but am missing a few, and even breaking out the steps to only update pieces at a time, it's still failing. *UPDATE* Nevermind. Though i was able to downgrade with the thumbdrive I was using, i had to use an official sandisk thumb to actually update the maps. This vehicle is picky as hell. Thanks, HawtDog
  9. I'm not dead. Just finished a nasty divorce. I've still been working on this and have many awesome updates coming, to include new features, and cheaper components. Standby.
  10. I searched and found a thread where someone asked if there was an upgrade to the 8.4n rb5 for the older 2011 units, so the icons are 3d but there was never a response saying it could happen. I have the opportunity to get a 2011 rb5 for my 2015, but i don't want to get it if the interface is going to change. after driving this thing for nearly 2 years, it'll drive me effing crazy. Is there a firmware update for the 2011 rb5's that make them look identical to the 2015+? They have the same part number...
  11. I have been blasting them on Twitter and via email and now I have a phone number. They won't be ignoring me
  12. My response: Sherri, It's funny you should say that it's not a feature you currently have, when the feature WORKS if you're using a phone that's at least 4 years old. The bluetooth song information appears if you're using an android phone that's version 4.1 or less and apple devices that are using IOS 7.1 or less. The problem is, your uconnect devices have never been updated to work with the newer (and I use the word "newer" very, very loosely, as the newest phone that works in this manner with your uconnect devices is 4 years old) hardware. While you can search your site for supported phones for the HTC x8 on sprint, it says it's not supported but in fact, it does work. Also, the Samsung galaxy s3 on verizon (but i'm sure it will for all carriers) also works as i've tested it personally. The x8 is a phone made in 2013, but it's a windows phone who are known to only support older versions of bluetooth drivers. The s3 is about 4 years old and if you leave the older version of android on it, works perfectly with your head-unit. The problem is, using these antiquated devices for your mobile needs, leaves you in a situation where you're using an insecure phone that's no longer being updated by the manufacture. Also, it means that you're not eligible to the latest data rates like LTE. The update to the uconnect unit is trivial as the bluetooth function was merely changed during the 2.1 transition to 4.0. The uconnect Bluetooth adapter already support 4.0 as I can see what it negotiates at when connecting to a mobile device. The problem is, the AVRCP bluetooth standards changed from 2.1 to 4 and your device doesn't conform to those changes, as it's requiring 4.0 devices to pass the metadata information in the 2.1 standard which is impossible. With that said, saying that it's a feature you don't currently have, is inaccurate. The true situation is, you don't currently want to support newer phones in relation to this feature, which is pretty crummy. Thanks, Chris
