Tim Patrick
Just picked this up on Monday July 24, 2017. It's only missing the navigation and backup camera. I'm having the camera installed at the dealer in a few weeks. First mod on the list is drilled and slotted rotors.
Tim Patrick
It's a 2014 Limited.
2late4u
welcome, ahh i wouldn't bother with the drilled and slotted rotors, the ones on your journey hold up quite well, I have a 2014 with 62k on it and the pads and rotors look really great even with this mileage but its up to you good luck jkeaton
Steven Harshbarger
Congrats on the new DJ. They are sweet SUV's and very versatile. I too think I would pass on the slotted rotors, just not enough benefit but it's your money. I'd spend my first dollar on tinting the front 2 side windows but that me. Welcome to the site! jkeaton and 2late4u
jkeaton
Welcome! I third skipping the drilled/slotted rotors. Absolutely no need on a street driven vehicle. As mentioned, the brakes on the newer models (after 2012) are more than adequate. We are approaching 70,000 miles on original pads and rotors. redtomatoman
I put EBC drilled and slotted rotors with the greenstuff pads on my 2011. They look good and stop well. The 2011 models had the smaller brakes, though. If mine had the better oem brakes, I would have stayed with them. Peace.
bramfrank
The things you are missing can be added easily (you are likely missing the ParkSense if you don't have the backup camera, since they are sold as a package . . . . But I'm somewhat jealous. I'd have liked to have the sunroof on mine. Save your money for useful things and don't bother messing with the brake. If you need new pads I'd use OEM - they really improved them as of the middle of the 2012 model year.
Tim Patrick
I guess I'll skip the rotors. I am going to get the front windows tinted. The Dodge dealer is installing the backup camera. I don't need it as much as my wife does. I'm used to parking in the city and parallel parking just comes naturally. I plan to do some of the interior in red carbon fiber vinyl, but not too much.
