  1. I would double check the battery Connections. Maybe loose? Did you test the battery?
  2. Well, instead of guessing and throwing parts at it, first things I would do is eliminate the battery and alternator by having them properly tested. Could be anything from what you described. Tensioner, ac compressor, bad belt, broken vacuum hose, see what Imean?
  3. Damaged wires in the tailgate loom. Take a look at the wires inside the rubber grommet at the top of the tailgate. Common issue.
  4. Which engine? The 3.5 has a timing belt that needs to be replaced every 100 thousand miles. Has that been done? If it’s a 3.5 and your replacing the water pump, replace the timing belt right away, your right there...,
  5. Did you try to jump start it? Either that or a tow truck...
  6. For number 1 you need to unlock the doors with the door switch. Pulling the handle before you manually unlock it won’t open it. not sure on number 2...
  7. Somethings wrong. OK, sorry but couldn’t resist being a smart ass.. anyway, why did you need tires already? Did you replace all 4? How many miles do you have? Have you had the codes read? What did reading the codes show? need more info to help.....
  8. Michelin blades from Costco $9 US, cheaper when on sale. i change mine at least once a year, sometimes twice. When they start smearing, they go. Not going to try and get years out of a $9 wiper blade and have an accident cause I can’t see out of a 2 year old blade.....
  9. I said that because the UConnect in my 09 would NOT work with either my wife’s or sons IPhone 8’s or my IPhone 11, but all worked in my 2018 Jeep. The dealer tested the handsfree module, which they insisted was fine and blamed UConnect. UConnect first blamed the module, then the IPhones. Apple tried the most to get them to work, then blamed UConnect. UConnect then admitted their software is out of date and they have no intention of updating it. Kenwood, on the other hand, works perfectly with all the phones and is easy to update. And yes, still have the 09 with less then 100k miles and a lifetime warranty..?
  10. Not the way it works. Previous owner did something
  11. Or go aftermarket. There are adapters so you don’t lose heat/ac controls. Check out crutchfield.com. The Kenwood unit for my 09 was about $600 for everything. I lost nothing and actually gained some things, but my heat/ac was never on the screen. I think the UConnect system is outdated and not keeping up with phones, that’s why I swapped mine out. Hands free, phone, and Bluetooth CarPlay work flawlessly.
  12. My 09 has one on the passenger side by the kick panel..... There is ALSO one under the hood. Got mine inJuly of 08 so no, they didn’t change anything, you just didn’t find it.?
  13. So you had the car reflashed to relearn your driving habits. You can’t reflash a battery....
  14. Not sure where you looked for an aftermarket radio, but I found several at Crutchfield.com. There now is a module that you program and you don’t lose you heat/AC controls etc. I replaced my unit in my 09 and actually GAINED options (engine gauges, tire pressure, etc) with the module, but my heat/ac controls were never controlled via my radio. I recall when reading the program options it was there. The unit is called a Meistro I think. My UConnect unit would not work with my IPhones so I removed everything and now have a Kenwood unit that sounds and looks great. Total cost was about $600. All that being said, there are chats about the hands free module failing and not turning off. Do you have an extended warranty? Not sure if that is actually part of the radio or a separate module. In my 09 it is a separate module. You could try either pulling the fuse for the handsfree (no idea which one, but I recall someone here did that, maybe they will chime in) or replace the factory radio. Replacing the factory radio could be expensive. You might be able to get one from a wrecker, but you have no guarantee it will be any better. let us know what you do......
  15. If they used a converter I doubt they used the factory trailer wire harness. Likely tapped in to left and right side taillights. Wouldn’t need a flash then....
  16. Is the water pump internal like on the 3.5? If so, might want to look at the labor involved in that before buying it......
  17. Coolant and oil mixing could be a couple things. I believe the DJ has an oil cooler that when fails the two can mix (although I might be confusing with my Cherokee) or a head gasket. The leaking radiator may or not be part of it. I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in. My days of DIY are out the window, mine goes to the dealer (lifetime extended warranty) for everything......good luck!
  18. I’m worried he may be trapped out of his car, struggling to get in, in a blizzard, with wolves nipping at his heels!! ?? Not even CLOSE to being mean.....yet..??
  19. Could be rad fluid. It’s orange-ish... need ALOT more info....
  20. True, no need to open the hood. Battery is in front of drivers wheel. Great idea, what have you got to lose?
  21. If the key turns it should be the correct key. My only thought would be call AAA for lock out assistance (you can join then request). They could help you with a jump as well. Other option might be a locksmith. You didn’t say how long you’ve had the car, if recent try the dealer....
  22. Don’t think there is one...
