I installed one and started using synthetic oil and on a trip that I got home from today, I was getting close to 28.5 mpg @ 70 mph (V6). Before the oil and K & N filter, I topped out at about 26. The K & N filter allows more air to enter the engine. In thery, more air +more HP and MPG. I have been using K & N since I had my 2000 Durango. Always seen a slight improvement in MPG. but thats just me. If nothing else, you'll never buy another air filter! The "recharge kit" from K & N (cleaner and oil for the filter) was fairly cheap (under 20$) and has lasted me YEARS!

Hard to say. How worn are your current pads? Are you metal to metal, or are they just low (like mine)? Do you have any pulse in the brakes when they are applied? Does the wheel turn when you apply the brakes? How many miles are on the rotors? All these things matter but you can get away with just pads if the answer to all the above questions is no and its your first brake job. I'll be changing my brakes Friday. I plan on leaving the rotors alone since I ONLY HAVE 11,200 miles on the brakes! Rotors looked fine. No rust, smooth and no problems. Just cheap pads from Dodge. Replacing with Wagner ceramic pads.

I was trained (emergency responder) that you never use high beams in the fog. The reason being, the light reflects back into your eyes making visibility worse. Thats why fog lights are mounted so low, close to the ground. The factory fog lights are 45 watts. I've installed HID type replacement bulbs (9006) that are 55 watts without a problem. I have known people to go as high as 65 watts without a problem in the factory lens, but I think thats going to get a little hot. If you need alot of light in the fog, go with a 55 watt bulb and leave the high beams off. BUT...... If you are handy and not using the factory switch, you could install them yourself and hook them up, via a relay, to be on any time you want. Just flip on the switch. Hope this helps you out!

You won't believe this, but the bulb they sent as a replacement was bad as well. Now I am sending them all back for a refund. Not very impressed with their quality control, but maybe I was juat lucky enough to get bad bulbs!

I don't know about the UK models, but in the US you cannot use front seat covers because of the front seat airbags. Not the ones in the dash, the ones in the seats. You could put covers on the second and third row seats, just not the fronts. Check before you spend that kind of money on something you can't use. If you can use them, or don't care about the front seats, I like the second option better, but thats just me!

Ordered the bulbs, but one 4210-cwhp12 went DOA when I installed it. Puff of smoke, burning smell, thats all folks! One worked fine. Superbrightleds sending another and will give me a credit when I send the bad one back. Plate bulbs look great! The one 4210-cwhp that works looks pretty good by itself!

Hey all. At first I used 87 and got about 14 mpg (in Chicago traffic in the city) and about 21 on the highway. On a road trip I used 89 just to see and got 25 mpg on the highway doing 72-75 mph. Now I use 89 all the time and am seeing my city milage to be about 17 and highway about 24. I plan to switch to synthetic oil and use a K & N airfilter and see what happens then. BTW, these numbers are not with me babying the Journey, just my normal driving, and I've got a big foot! 3.5 V6 HO w/FWD and 6 speed autostick. has about 10,000 miles and is just over a year old

For those of you with warped rotors and a shimmy, I had a 2000 Durango that constantly had the same problems UNTILL I started doing my own brake jobs and tire rotations. I put cermanic pads and new rotors (from Murrays Auto Parts, now O'Riellys) and used a torque wrench to tighten the front lugnuts. Once I did that I went 3 years before the brakes needed to be worked on and the rotors stayed true the entire time (granted only about 36000 miles)! I was told Dodge/Chrysler use really thin crappy rotors and using a airgun to install the nuts wraps the rotors. Can't say thats the absolute facts but it seemed to be that way with the Durango. I was changing rotors every 10-12 months before I started using the torque wrench. Also, most of the time the rotors are so warped that by the time you cut them, they are too thin to use. I guess I'll be doing the same with my Journey! Hope this info helps someone! Stay safe.

As far as I've heard, only for the 5 seat models (2009) but I don't know if that changed for 2010

If you want to use bottles, the rubber/plasic insert that holds the cans is rmoveable. If you take it out, you can put a bottle in there. It will roll around alittle, but it can be done.

Well, the chill zone is for cans, but my guess is the bottles may have expanded a bit. Try turning the AC on high for awhile, the GENTLY push the door itself down to take the pressure off the latch. Then press the latch, you might get lucky. This happened on my Journey as well (my wife didn't realize that it was only for cans, only had 1 bottle in there) and that worked for me. Just be careful! Hey all. If you are interested, I found the filter at rockauto.com for about $16.00 including shipping. Its WIX part number 24578. Just slip it right in and your done. All you need is the filter. Make sure you put it in with the arrows facing the correct way (down)!

I've got a Garmin 340C which fits nicely in the upper storage bin (the one at the top of the radio stack). Open it up, place the Garmin in and your done. Picks up the sats just fine, and the popup cover for the bin shades it nicely. No telltail suction cup marks on the windshield! I just put it in the passenger seat storage bin and close the popup cover. You never know it was there!

Thanks for the reply. Mine was built in 08 as well. I'm going to the dealer for an oil change, so I'll have them check also. I tried with the headlits on, in auto mode, at nite, and in the garage. I'll let you know what they tell me.

Ok, I'm still looking for them! I have an 09 Journry R/T w/ "front & rear aimable LED lamps" (per the window sticker) as a standard item. I got the car in July of 08. Was there a change? There are no lamps of any kind on the passenger side (there is a cover below the glove box) and I looked everywhere, in the dark, for an LED on the drivers side. Any ideas????

R/T has nothing to do with it. You must have the advanced dashboard to make these changes. I have an R/T and can"t make any changes like that. If you can see each tire pressure, then you have the advanced dashboard (EVIC).

Hello all! Got a question for anyone. I used to change my own oil, using Mobil 1. I had a 00 Durango that turned into an 09 Journey (which I love!) that I always did my own maintenence on, from oil changes to brakes to belts. Now I have my Journey with a LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRENTY. Now if I have a problem and lets say the engine blows and I have done my own oil changes using Mobil 1 or Royal Purple and have my reciepts, does that prove I did the proper maintenece? All it really proves is I purchased oil and filters, right? Will Dodge/Chrysler give me a hassel? I've had the Journey about 1 year and have taken it to the dealer for the 2 oil changes I needed (only have 9,500 miles on it). I am due for a third shortly and would do my own oil change and use synthetic but am a little worried. If I go to the dealer and use synthetic, they want $70! I can do it at home for $30. Any thoughts?

Hello all, I just found this fourm and am glad I did! Anyway, wanted to throw this out there. I want to install a cabin air filter in my 09 Journey. I found where it goes (it's marked "cabin air filter" above the blower motor on the passenger side, behind the glove box) but there is no filter in there now. MY question is do I only need the filter (which is not an easy find I might add) or some other parts? Anyone know? The part number for the filter I found is 5058693AA. This is the Dodge part number. If anyone has an aftermarker number they could share, that would be great. No parts stores around here seem to stock one. Thanks in advance!

Made it through a Chicago winter with no trouble at all. My Journey replaced a 00 Durango and I was a little worried, but it sailed right through. I used the 19" all season tires that came with the car. It has the 6 with FWD
