  1. Your deflector looks great, and I think it's definitely needed since the Journey has an aluminum hood. I think the deflector helps to keep the rocks and stones off the hood (hopefully not into the windshield), however I noticed that your deflector stops at the edge of the hood. My deflector actually extends past the edge of the hood onto the fender by a few extra inches; I thought this was also important to help deflect junk. Just my two cents worth, Happy Motoring...
  2. Well I can't take credit for the link...I ran across it about a year ago on this or another Dodge forum I frequent, I'm just glad it still works because the .pdf is too large to e-mail.
  3. Well it finally happened. I was at home at the right time, and remembered to look for this link, and I was lucky enough to find it from a year ago! Here is the link to the .pdf for a 2009 Journey: http://www.berrysprinter.com/e-Fiche/Model%20Years/CD5/06-09/09JC.pdf Hope this helps and enjoy...
  4. I don't want everyone to think that I've forgotten about them; but I'm working out of state and only get home one weekend a month. To be honest with you, looking for that link is usually the last thing on my mind, but I'll make an extra effort the next time I'm home.....sorry. Happy Motoring...
  5. The only place I knew that ever sold them was AutoXclusive out of Arizona; they were a bit pricey but mine has held up great for almost two years now. I visited their website today, but it seems to be not working, so I don't know if they are still in business or not; there was an 800 number to call (I didn't try it). So I don't know why you couldn't order from them (I know it's easier in Canada), but from what I remember from my experience with them they were great. Just my two cents worth, and Happy Motoring...
  6. About six months ago I ran across a link to a web-site where you could look up every part on your vehicle.....but for the life of me I can't seem to find where I saved the link. I'm on the road right now and will be home in about two weeks, if I can remember, I'll check when I get home. Hope that's not too late. Happy Motoring...
  7. Yeah, but until you wear out those 19" Kuhmo's you're living on borrowed time and holding your breathe. Unless you're close enough to home for that wonderful doughnut of a spare tire to get you there, well then drive carefully and hope you don't have to wait for a replacement tire to be shipped to you! Happy Motoring...
  8. That tire size is the "official recommended replacement size" from Chrysler. I was recently working out of state when I had a flat that was unrepairable. Knowing the availability problems with this tire, I went to the local Dodge dealer, only to have them tell me that this tire is no longer avaiable and would have to buy two of the 235/55/19 sized tires. I called Chrysler, and to make a long story short; they have a stash of tires, but will only give them out one at a time for situations like mine. I didn't want to replace more than one because I only had 20,000 miles on this set. In a conversation with my rep at Chrysler, she provided me with the official recommended replacemnet size. So when this set is worn out, I'm definately switching to a more readily available size. It took four days to Fed Ex my replacement tire to my local Dodge dealer.
  9. Hey Jim, thanks for your prompt reply; I'll give that a try. It's amazing the things they'll fix only if you complain about something.

  10. Hey Jim, I noticed your post about your exhaust being replaced. Is there some TSB from Chrysler covering this problem? If so could you find out some info for me, because my dealer tells me they no nothing about this problem. Thanks for any help, and Happy Motoring !!!

  11. Here's what I do for my dog; first off I have to tell you that I have the Dodge cargo mat for the rear area. To cover the gap between the seat I found some plastic corrigated material (you know like they make outdoor signs out of) it's thin but stiff enough to support weight. Now I usually only have the passenger side and the center armrest folded down, so I have a piece cut to fit that size and then when not in use, it slides under the cargo mat out of sight. Hope this helps, and happy motoring.....
  12. I was told this was a security feature, it easily hides a cell phone or other small things.
  13. To access the third row seating; the middle row of seats slide forward. This is accomplished by turning the handle located on the upper side of the rear seat. This allows the seat bottom to rise and then the entire seat will slide forward. The lower handle on the side will simply slide the entire seat forward. Hope this helps.
  14. My '09 SXT is about 16 months old and I am approaching 60,000 miles with no complaints so far. With my LifeTime powertrain warranty and my LifeTime bumper to bumper warranty; I plan on pushing this Journey to the limits. We'll see if Fiat will honors the warranties that long and if the car makes it even longer! Keep those good comments coming; and Happy Motoring...
  15. Not sure if this is your problem, but I remember reading about someone who had a problem with the switch that determines if the tranmission is in park. There are a lot of conditions that must be met to start one of these cars. As the above poster mentioned it could also be the key fob, so you could try your other fob and see if it makes a difference. Happy Motoring, and let us know what you find the problem to be.
  16. I've had mine installed for just over a year now and it looks great. I can say that it has saved my bumper from a scratch and gouge or two, so I think it was worth the money. Sometimes just after I wash it, it does appear a bit dull; and no I've never applied any Amour All or other type of protectant. Hope this helps and Happy Motoring....

    Most miles?

I'm just curious if your battery was dry when you replaced it (maybe you didn't check). When I purchased my Journey it was already one year old (sat on the dealers lot that long) so I checked the battery and sure enough if was a bit low on water, maybe they come that way so you have to replace them sooner. I'd be curious if a few others checked their battery, what they might find. Happy Motoring....
  18. Let me know how those LIFETIME pads perform, I have always been a bit leary of those, but I never tried any. I'd be interested in knowing how long they last between changes, and what they do to the rotors (are the pads a bit harder)? Thanks....
  19. Well I have 40,000 miles now and have just done my first brake job. The front ones defineitely needed it, but the back ones could have waited another 10-15K. I wanted to get rid of the brake dust, so I switched to ceramic and did all four wheels. I will say that the rear calipers seemed to be sticking because the inside pad was worn twice as much as the outer pad. Also my rotors seem to have a lot of life left in them and I should be able to turn them one time (for this brake change I bought a new set of Chrysler rotors) and then will turn the original set at my conveinience. Just wanted to let everyone know that not all are having brake problems......Happy Motoring.

    Most miles?

Thank goodness I have that LifeTime Powertrain Warranty !
  21. Just my two cents worth, and I'm not bragging, but I have 35,000 miles on my Journey and still have the original brakes and rotors. Now I'm proably close to needing some brakes and will have to turn my rotors. I'm not sure why others have a problem at low mileage and some last longer, my Journey was built in May '08 and I purchased it in Jun '09. As a side note, the Journey has the exact same brake package as the Caravan and they are about the same weight (I'm not sure about the weight distribution), so I'm not sure why only the Journey would have brake problems.
  22. If you read through the countless posts about brakes you will find some who have had brake problems at 10 or 20,000 miles. I can tell you that I and two of my friends have Journeys with over 30,000 and still have the original brakes. Now having said that, all three of us do a lot of highway driving and we are all close to needing new brakes on the front, but no complaints so far. Good luck..... and Happy Motoring.
  23. I have the same seat covers and ran into the same question. I called Cover King and since the Journey was a new product for them they were unsure. We decided that it was in fact for the center arm rest of the second row seating, however the plastic clips and straps looked like they were more trouble than they were worth and I decided to leave it off. The black on my factory seats and the black of the seat covers were close enough it doesn't bother me, but if you are a perfectionist then you'll want to add it. By the way, I'm curious if you have the flip up passenger seat in the front row seating? When I received my seat covers they were actually the first ones they ever shipped and we had to make some modifications to the seat bottom for that particular seat. They told me they would incorporate those changes into future orders, so I was just curious how your seat bottom attached, if you had one?
  24. Just to add my two cents worth... I've had my Journey for 10 months now and she has 34,000 miles on her. Still has the original brakes and tires, but I would expect to have to replace the front brakes by 40,000 and the tires not far after that. The only warranty items were a visor cover, a u-Connect module, and a plastic cowl at the base of the windshield. Knock on wood she has been great so far, by the way mine was manufactured in Apr '09. Happy motoring....
  25. There is another thread discussing these covers, but I see that Costco has them on sale again for $139 per row.
