  1. Pardon me if this has been covered before. The paint on my side mirrors is terrible. Peeling and chipping. (I do have 108K miles on my 2009 Journey). I want to finally get it repainted, but 75% of the work is the labor in removing and replacing the side mirrors. Can anyone outline the steps in how to remove and replace the mirrors in the Journey SXT? John
  2. They are super expensive. I'm half tempted to order another 4 tires and store them away.
  3. Hey guys, I needed tires recently. I have 49,000 miles on my Journey and the tread wear to prove it. So, when my dealership told me $1098 to replace, mount and balance 4 new tires I balked. I found this place on line. www.tireteam.com They sold me the exact same tire I needed (direct OEM replacement) for $103 a tire. Shipping came out to $55 for me. I ordered at 2 PM on Tuesday, and the tires arrived at my door (I'm in IL, they shipped from Maryland) by the time I got home from work on Thursday. http://www.tireteam.com/Tires/Kumho/Solus+...?&ref=GBASE I went to a local mom and pop tire store, so it cost me $83 to have the tires installed. All in all I paid $463 for the tires give or take, and $83 for mounting. Totalling $546, almost exactly half of the cost the dealership quoted me.

    First problem

So, I've just passed 10,000 miles and for the last week or two I've noticed a problem developing. At 70+mph I hear a rattling in the center stack. It feels as if the trim around the radio is a bit loose. It rattles at highway speeds. I know its the source of the sound because if I hold it in place with my hand, the sound goes away. I hope to get into the dealership this week to get it tightened down. Will keep the board posted with the service etc. John

    Most miles?

Should hit 9000 miles on the commute home today. Not a single issue yet.
  7. I am going to check into this more. Does anyone know if the air filter for the Journey is the same size as the air filter for the 3.5L V6 Avenger. It appears to be the same shape, but I haven't gotten out the ruler to check dimensions. I'm almost at 9000 miles on the Journey and need to replace mine soon. John

    Most miles?

Rob, Passed 8000 miles today. What are you at? John
  9. I've noticed that my warning light comes on at 44 miles until empty on the DTE display. When I go below 30 miles until Empty, the display simply reads Low Fuel and flashes at me. john
  10. The thing is, my wife and I hadn't even used the chill zone. In my model it only keeps the cans cold if you have the A.C. running. It won't really chill a can from room temp. My wife put the cans in there a week after we bought a car because it was neat to have 2 cans in there for display when showing off the car to family and friends. So I totally forgot the cans were in there. Yesterday it was about 90 degrees, car parked in the sun and, well the rest is history. No big stains or, the YES ESSENTIALS seats did their job and the few drips that did get on the seats beaded right up and wiped right off. John
  11. Today I had a not so nice surprise. I made a left turn and to my dismay a bunch of liquid started to slush out of the "chill zone" above the glove compartment. It turns out that a Coke can my wife left in there exploded due to the heat in the cabin. I was parked in the sunlight and the car warmed up. It leaked onto the floor, center console, lower glove compartment etc. It luckily cleaned up well, but was not a welcome occurance. So, lesson to be learned; Don't leave cans of pop in the Chill Zone unless you are planning on drinking them on a road trip.
  12. It's a shame its not here in the U.S. I'd love one of those signs for my Journey. John
  13. Ok, this is the best advertising campaign ever. Check out www.babymadeonboard.be Looks like Dodge Dealers in Belgium are selling the Journey on its spacious backseat room. Their advertising campaing roughly translates into "Become a Father, Stay a Man." I can't read the language that well, but it appears as if you buy a Journey on the day it debuts, then have a baby exactly 9 months from the debut date, you'll win the Journey for free. Can anyone translate?

    Most miles?

I'm just curious who is rolling up the most miles on their Journey? I am about to head home this afternoon and will pass 6100 miles this afternoon. Anyone on par with this? As some background, I'm in sales. I'm actually travelling every week between Chicago-land and Detroit, MI. So, I'm racking up a ton of highway miles (at least 630 a week just for my 'commute') John
