  1. 100% Correct. An excellent explanation on the Tire Rack website about this. http://www.tirerack.com/winter/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=126
  2. And that is ok. But do remember, winter tire rubber compounds have changed drastically in the last 20 years and you can't compare old snow tyres with the new stuff. The new compounds are amazing. Better living through chemistry!
  3. Finished raking the bloody leaves. 55 of those recycleble paper bags full. Started putting a good coat of Meguiar's on Big Red. Hood, roof, tailgate, and one side done. Finish today. Inside windows cleaned. Floor liners ready to go in for winter, and the very last thing to change is the tires. I wait till I'm in the mood in November to put on the Blizzaks. I see the weather gods predict a milder/dryer than normal winter for us Prairie folk. Figures. Have tickets for Honolulu in January. Weeks without hockey. How will I survive?
  4. Same situation here. I'm interested in a quiet smooth ride rather than cornering etc. Was reading the reviews for the Pirellis on Tire Rack and they got good reviews. If still around when I need to replace, will likely go with those

Plus the car will be lighter. Empty pockets! H.P.
  6. Sure, you just have to cross the border, and any gas station will have a machine. Tax Free in Canada. Not so when the IRS finds out!

Hmm. A week and not a peep.
  8. Do note there are many differences in models destined for the Canadian market VS the US market. Example. Chrome door handles were only available on the R/T model in Canada. No others offered them, but there was an accessory kit from MOPAR that could upgrade any model. Another example is leather seats. Only available in the R/T in Canada, while were an option on Limited's in the US. AWD not available on the Limited in Canada. An option in America. Block heater, standard in Canada. Optional in the US. Even in northern states. Many differences.

Hope you still own your Journey when you leave Lost Wages! H.P.
  10. I have them for the front only as well. Since I never have anyone in the back seat (no rugrats) I didn't bother. I did get the Mopar rear cargo mat and I like that a lot.
  11. There is a TPMS in the spare?
  12. Available for the Journey. Ain't cheap. Do look nice. Go crazy! http://www.oraclelights.com/automotive-lighting-products/PreAssembled-Headlights--Sealed-Beams/ORACLE-Off-Road-High-Powered-LED-Fog-Lights-Pair H.P.
  13. Wow! A grand. Better than I've done. Now, I have won lots of 20 dollar prizes and the closest I came was on on the the Max Millions extra prize numbers where you have to match all seven numbers and there are no prizes for anything less, unlike the main draw. I got 6 out of 7 and missed one number by 1 digit. Now THAT was what I call a sphincter tightening moment. Already got my tix for Friday! Jackpot up to 50 Million!
  14. Happy Labour Day to all the Canucks and other planetary species who spell correctly. Happy Labor Day to the Yankees. H.P.
  15. Yeah, that's it. I'll wrap his Journey in tinfoil. Then he'll be safe from government eavesdropping, alien kidnapping, remote viewers and those dastardly aeroplanes secretly excreting chemicals out of their engines! Got free plays. I'm in for next Friday!
  16. Well, ours are totally tax free and the jackpot this week is approx 37 million. I don't mind sharing!
  17. When I win the Lotto Max this week I'm going to order a new Journey for Dhh3. Then have the entire thing Chromed (all painted parts) and parked in front of his house.
  18. Not sure on the 09 controls, but generally there is a control roller knob that adjusts the brightness of the dash lights and turn it enough, it'll turn all interior lights out or on. H.P.
  19. There is an entire section dedicated to brakes and lots of info in it on this forum.. Your 2011 has the so-called small brakes and yes they tend to wear faster than Journey's built after mid 2012 when larger brakes started to show up on higher end models. 50k, isn't that bad, for some. It's impossible to judge not knowing how you drive. Here is a tip. DO NOT replace the pads and/or rotors with the standard MOPAR parts again. Go with higher quality aftermarket parts and preferably CERAMIC pads. The dealer will charge way too much for the stock stuff and you can do a lot better (cheaper) at an independent shop that knows what they are doing. There is lots of better, longer lasting quality brake parts out there. H.P.
