  1. You can buy excellent condition wheels from an auto recycler for a lot less than new. Try http://www.car-part.com/%C2'>
  2. Perhaps you should read this study. Particularly the European and Canadian results were quite significant. Likely due to further north locales, where daylight is winter months is less than say the southern US. I hardly think that they are stupid. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCYQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov%2FPubs%2F809760.pdf&ei=xpUgVLunJs3boATVgIGgCg&usg=AFQjCNEYiLVPpBOEXgY2z9V0rxWuVyr1bA&bvm=bv.75775273,d.cGU
  3. I don't think mine does either. No flexfuel badge on the back. Not that I care.
  4. You can buy original equipment Mopar TPMS on Ebay for anywhere from 50 bucks and up, for a set of 4. Got 4 last May.
  5. Yes that is a flat spot so that the molding doesn't hit and bind with the front door. Dealers charge $477. installed. Here is my local dealers online accessory list. .Prices are likely similar at other dealers in Canada. http://v2.acc-mopar.ca/web/accessories.php?webaccess=39D7151&type=changeVeh&vehid=389&styleid=2129
  6. I'd check the 12 model to see which brakes it has. Switchover to the larger brakes and less headaches occurred mid model year for the 12's. The 13 should have the bigger brakes. Take a peek at an end of model year 14. The 15's are arriving on dealer lots so you might find a juicy deal and all 14's get bigger brakes with ceramic pads. (cleaner wheels)
  7. It is a dealer installed option and I had it done before I picked mine up. I think it is perfect and never see any other Journey's around here with one. Sticks well, no issues. Here is a pic. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_224/gallery_7129_224_112155.jpg
  8. 2015 Canadian website is online at dodge.ca Looked to see any changes and noted that the flexible seating group is no charge and included, starting with the SE Plus model and up. . I specifically ordered my 14 without as I wanted the extra underfloor storage. Very happy I got the 14 without the 3rd row which I have no need for.
  9. Here ya go. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2014-New-40W-4800-Lm-Cree-LED-Headlight-Kit-Bulb-9005-9006-H8-H11-H4-H7-/131224044422?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e8d900386&vxp=mtr
  10. Since it's raining again I started surfing Ebay and there are a number of sellers of 9006 LED bulbs. 6000k 20w 2400lm, US sourced vendors, selling them for around $70 usd. A number of them are fanless too.
  11. They sure do look similar but the one thing I noticed on the Lifetime bulbs is that they are fan cooled whereas there is no mention of fan cooling on the Oracle bulbs. I am not a fan *drum symbol crash* of anything that is fan cooled, as fans with bearings wear out, and might be especially vulnerable in the extreme temperatures outside for a vehicle in this neck of the woods. The lovely Canadian Prairies swing from -30C to 30c and that ain't good for small delicate moving parts.
  12. I bought the 2wd Limited exactly because I wasn't interested in AWD and it's extra cost, weight and just another thing to service. Instead I spent that money on an extra set of alloy wheels and winter tires. I'm more concerned about turning and stopping rather than going. I look at it this way. If the snow is that deep, I'll just stay home. Been using winter tires for years and you'll never pry them from my cold frozen hands........
  13. Oh cool! I'll be anxious to hear how they workout, and your impressions! Should be an easy install and please post pics. The dark days of winter are coming and my order finger is itchy. Just gotta pay the hockey league registration first.......
  14. I know this is an old thread. But just found this today on the Autoanything site. Attention Canucks. They have issues with shipping to Canada. They told me this after my floor mats I ordered from them were delivered. http://www.autoanything.com/deflectors/61A6459A0A0.aspx
  15. Anyone try these? A bit pricey at $200 per pair. http://www.automotivelightstore.com/ORACLE9006LEDHeadlightReplacementBulbs.aspx
  16. Was surfing the local online shopping site Kijiji and on a nice hot August day found a hardly used set of 17in. Bridgestone Blizzak tires I was looking for to fit the used alloy wheels I got at a recycler. Since they were only a few blocks away I took a look, and yup, as stated in the ad, really only had 2500 Km on them. (1500 miles for the Yankee's) Owner moved to Texas. Got for less than half price. Such a deal! Should have seen the look I got at the dealer when I dropped them off to get mounted and balanced. Ok, I'm ready for you Mr. Polar Vortex!
  17. If you manage to find all this out with part numbers etc. please post or pass along as I'd be interested in making those lights work too.
  18. Made a quickie trip to Grand Forks ND and back on Saturday. With 3 coats of wax on the front, the bugs didn't stick upon washing after the trip.
  19. Interestingly the "rear fog lights" are listed on the Fiat Freemont website for Australia under the standard features list. http://www.fiat.com.au/freemont Other thing I found on that site if you click on the accessories button (PDF) at the bottom of the page are: 1 Side skirts (unpainted) 2 Tailgate garnish 3 Rear spoiler (unpainted) Hard to tell from the picture if this might keep the rear window clean. None of these are listed on the Journey accessories list in Canada or The US.
  20. No, light not on. I've always have changed oil on my vehicles at 5000 km. I know they say go longer, but i consider it very cheap insurance to do it then. My 12 yr old Caravan with well over 200k on it purred like a kitten, and with well rusted rockers brought in over 1k at an auction since I included the complete service record with it. When into normal driving pattern that will be about twice a year. I drive a lot less since retirement.
  21. It's been 3 months since delivery and to be honest, not much to report. Only one visit to the dealer and that was for a screw in the middle of a tire that I picked up. It wasn't even leaking air. I just happened to see it when washing the Journey. No mechanical issues at all. I did have to do a bit of extra cleaning due to a bit of a sloppy install of the body side molding, but detailing is a hobby of mine anyway, so not a big deal. There are now 3 coats of wax on it, including doing the door jambs once. There isn't a bug made that will stick to my Journey! I did change out the black standard carpet floor mats for Lloyd mats which are much thicker and plush. Went for the beige colour, and are far easier to keep clean as those black ones show every speck of grit. Since I have the chrome clad wheels and a huge snow tire advocate, I purchased a set of 17 inch alloy wheels from a recycler. for just a bit more than a standard set of new steel wheels. A note for others thinking of this, 17inch Caravan wheels are identical to Journey wheels which gives a big increase in choices. After a lot of research I plan to purchase the upcoming Blizzak WS 80 tires for our delightful winters. I was thrilled to see that my 2014 came with ceramic brake pads. Keeping the wheels clean is super easy as ceramic brakes give off very little dust and it is white, which doesn't show. Only thing I find a bit strange is the location inside the centre console for the USB port. I load mp3 favourites on a flash drive and it is a bit of a pain to try to insert into the port. The premium audio system is ok.. I realize some prefer a better subwoofer, but since I don't need to feel my liver vibrate, it is fine for me. Only one highway trip to Grand Forks N.D. and back. Love the V6 and cruises the 75 mph speed limit on I29 with little effort. Gas mileage exactly as expected and better than the old Caravan, even though I seem to have lead weights on the bottom of my feet. 1st 5k oil change in a few weeks. I don't drive too much.
  22. Judging by the silence, I'm wondering if this went well.
  23. I wouldn't be to sure about more power for the 16 model. The trend with carmaker's of late has been smaller engines and many have dropped their V6 motors in favor of 4's with turbos. Not a trend I like as I will never buy a turbo charged engine for a variety of reasons.
  24. Believe me. Journeyman425 details are accurate! Although mine arrived at the dealer a couple days early!
