Yes, my 300M is plugged in as we speak. Lord knows why I didn't order the block heater on the Journey - must've had a brain fart but honestly we don't see temps like this very often.

Welcome home. It's a balmy 9 degrees here now! And Watertown, NY recorded the lowest temp in the Lower 48 States today @ -37 degrees F.

Very good question and one that has never been asked of me. So, I did some research on the Chrysler side and came up with nothing. I wrote to Service Technical Assisance Resources (STAR) and now await their response. May not be until Tuesday since Monday is a holiday.

    Hey guys,
I'm a photographer from Maryland and I just traded in my 2007 Chrysler 300 Touring on a 2016 Dodge Journey RT AWD. I have an obscure electrical question that I will be posting in the appropriate forum here in a few minutes, so if you're knowledgeable maybe you could help answer it.
    Thanks,
    CameraGuy
P.S.: I attached a couple photos if my new ride for those that would like to see it

Journeyman425 got a reaction from jkeaton in having trouble with washer/ wiper
With the engine off, ignition in run position, operate the washers. Can you hear the pump running? If not, then try the rear washer and see if you can hear the pump running that way (the motor runs in reverse for the rear washer). If you can hear it running, check under the car for dripping. That means a hose is off somewhere if there is a leak. If nothing leaks and you hear the pump running, either the system is clogged or frozen.

We've never done the swap at my shop, but the STAR case from Chrysler clearly states to reconfigure the vehicle after the code is added. Otherwise, the car does not know the feature is there.
I know that when we added trailer tow wiring to my own Journey after I bought it, the trailer lights did not work until we added the sales code for trailer wiring and then reconfigured the car - then they worked.

The wiring should be connected to the HVAC module. My understanding is that the harness which connects to the sun sensor on an Auto Headlamp-equipped Journey is there, but simply secured to the steering column behind the dash. I'm not sure if they will work unless connected to a sun sensor. See what happens after the flash. If they don't work then you'll have to add the sun sensor and connect the wiring to it as described in the STAR case I posted on the first page of this thread.

Hi - yes I'm still monitoring this thread. Sorry about the PM, I don't know why some people are not able to send them. I checked your VIN but neither code is currently available for me to add. Went through this once before late in 2014/early 2015 so stay tuned, I may be able to do it in the future if corporate puts the sales codes back.

My Journey was hit three times in a year and a half. The paint matches perfectly and it's Copper Pearl which is very tough to match. A reputable bodyshop will get it right.

Regular rotation is very important to extending the life of most tires. Our Journey has the 19" Kumhos. They have been rotated every 10K miles. We have over 52,000 miles on the car now and I'm ready to replace them. They are not bald, but down to about 3/32" all the way around. I have another set at my shop ready to be installed.

    Hmmm...Learn something new every day:
    STAR Case
    Chrysler Group LLC Version 1
    Case Number: S1108000147
    Release Date: 09/17/2011
    Symptom/Vehicle Issue:
Battery Saver Message Appears In The Evic
    Discussion:
Battery saver message is being displayed in the EVIC of the cluster.
    Repair:
Vehicles with EVIC warning display can display a battery saver message. The sensor on the battery reports battery (voltage, temperature, state of charge and amp-hours in/out etc.) to the CBC (Body Controller) on the LIN bus. The CBC sends a message to the cluster to indicate ‘battery saver active’ it indicates that the battery has lost >5 AH during an ignition cycle and may cause other component operation issues reducing component performance, blower speed, radio volume, window operation ect…as battery charge declines.

It's the pulley's bearing that makes the sound. It does not affect anything else. I haven't seen one lock up or come apart yet, nor have any of them made any noises in normal operating conditions, only extreme cold. Not all of them do it, either.

So unnecessary on their part. It's a known issue and they will get paid by the factory to replace the part. as long as you're within the provisions of the basic warranty.

Journeyman425 got a reaction from jkeaton in New safety recall recieved in mail yesterday
That's the easier part. The recall also involves removing the wiper cowl to gain access to the ABS module. The harness connector there has to be inspected and dielectric grease applied if there is no corrosion present at it.
