How many miles on your Journey? Plugs are due @102,000 miles according to the maintenance schedule set forth in the manual, but honestly they rarely last that long. Could be ignition, fuel or mechanical issue. Remove the spark plug to inspect its condition. You can try switching ignition coils with the adjacent cylinder when you remove the plug to see if the misfire follows the coil. If the MIL comes back on for the same cylinder, you can try swapping the injectors like you did with the coil to see if the misfire follows the injector. If it stays on cylinder six, then the cause is likely to be mechanical (usually a burned valve).

The cylinder head is not on backorder at this time. Part #RL141353AC. Yes, it is a big job and scheduling can be difficult, but this repair is important and is owed to you. If they won't accomodate you in a timely fashion, try to find another dealer who will.

RTM - if you take your vehicle to a dealer and have them perform a Vehicle Restoration (reconfiguration), the DRL's *should* now work as the appropriate sales code has been added. See below:

No climate control issues here. This is our first winter with the Journey and it's been damned cold. We leave the climate control on Auto, sync all three zones to 70-72 degress and let it do its thing. We're comfortable and there's no fog on the windows. Add the heated seats and steering wheel and this car has helped deal with a most miserable winter.

Our Jayco camper has hydraulic surge brakes. It's a purely mechanical system which requires no electric brake controller at all. Most trailers under 2000 lb have this type of brake system.

If you post the last eight digits of your VIN, I will try adding the correct sales code for DRL's. On my 2013 Crew, the Sales Code is LMK. If I'm able to do it from here, then you will have to take your vehicle back to the dealer for what is called a "restoration" which is a process where the dealer's computer scans all the modules in your vehicle, sees the new sales code and enables the feature accordingly. Then all you have to do is enable it in your menu screen on the radio and they will work. You can enable/disable the feature as you wish.
Going to get some shut-eye now, Rolly...

Jkeaton is correct on coverage. Do you have a Chrysler Service Contract? I can run your VIN and verify any coverages for you . Post the last 8 digits of your VIN; you already posted the mileage; I'll check.

I've only done it twice. But you're right, the anticipation was agonizing - especially the first time. My 300M was built and delivered in just under six weeks, but it might as well have been six years. But yes - worth the wait. I I still have that car. I got an unexpected upgrade as well. Shortly after I ordered the car, the factory upgraded the wheels from 16" to 17", which is was I wanted but were not available with the Performance Handling Group. I found out about the upgrade after the car was built but before it was shipped, and thought there must have been an error in the description. When it finally arrived, it wore the 17's that I wanted all along.

I remember factory ordering a vehicle. The anticipation was the worst part. Especially when it got to the final destination and the dealer could not get it off the train because of a rail strike. And the dealer could see it across the street on the train. Waited an extra 2 weeks for it. 11 weeks in total. But it was worth the wait.

Journeyman425 got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in What is this connector???
Might be for the trailer tow harness. When we prepped my 2013 in the shop, the trailer harness was shipped in a bag along with the center caps, floor mats, etc. We connected it to an existing harness in the same area as your connector, and then fastened it to the inside of the rear fascia. The plug for the trailer ultimately ends up at the hitch receiver, where it rests in a bracket next to the receiver itself. If you want, post the last 8 of your VIN and I can see if your Journey was built with Trailer Tow Prep.
    From the service manual:
08 - Electrical/8L - Lamps and Lighting/Lamps/Lighting - Exterior/WIRING, Trailer Tow/Operation OPERATIONThe trailer tow preparation wiring harness is connected to the body wire harness near the left side of the spare tire, just forward of the rear bumper reinforcement. After installation is complete, a trailer tow right stop/turn relay, a trailer tow left stop/turn relay and a trailer tow park lamps relay are secured to the trailer tow harness on the underside of the rear bumper reinforcement behind the rear fascia. The four-way trailer tow connector is located near the center of the rear fascia.

Finally - car has been covered with road salt and spray for weeks. Temp is 50 degrees and sunny now. Snow in tomorrow morning's forecast, and again on Wednesday with temps in the teens and 20's. I don't care if it is only going to look good for a few hours - I just HAD to clean it!

It's really very interesting how the gamut runs from horrible to wonderful with respect to the Journey's winter handling prowess on this forum. My own experience has been favorable overall. Ours is a 2013 Crew with 225/55/19 stock Kumho's and Front Wheel Drive. Mileage is now 14,000. Accelerating from a stop in snow often produces lots of wheelspin which is mitigated nicely by the TCS and lessened considerably if I use Autostick and start in 2nd or 3rd gear. Tracking on snow covered roads has been fine, My 2000 300M is more sure-footed in snow overall. I would attribute that to the Michelin Pilot HX tires and a 64% weight bias on the front wheels. I had another 300M on the road before the Journey which at one time wore Falken Ziex tires, and they were absolutely horrible in snow. That was a true apples-to-apples comparison since the '99 and '00 were mechanically identical vehicles. Tires make all the difference in the world. But I have no complaints about the Journey. Our terrain is flat overall, but even on the mild hills around here, it always digs in and gets moving.

The best thing for cold weather fuel economy is to let the engine run for about 30 seconds after a cold start, then drive slowly to moderately for the first few miles. The engine will wam up quickest this way and burn the least amount of fuel, relatively speaking. I know this, but I just can't stand getting into a cold car, so I remote start like there's no tomorrow...

Journeyman425 got a reaction from bigtsr in Messaging option on uconnet
It frustrates me, too - and I work for a dealer. Educating the personnel is extremely important, and also extraordinarily time-consuming. Dealer employees at nearly every level have multiple online courses to take every year, and our techs are sent away for training several times per year just to stay current. But the other side of the story is the dizzying array of features and options that today's cars are crammed with. These features and options often change not only with each passing model year, but sometimes in mid-cycle as well. I'm not defending the people who don't spend the time to learn, nor am I making excuses for them, but trust me when I tell you that it is a truly daunting task to keep it all straight and current. One of the reasons why I participate in this forum is that it helps me to learn things by researching your questions.
I agree that the "messaging" button should not be there if the feature is not present or even available. Jkeaton - your 4.3 can be upgraded to Uconnect and that's why the message comes up on the welcome screen. But the 8.4 and 8.4N cannot be upgraded to Uconnect Access which supports voice texting, so the grayed out "message" softkey really has not place on this unit at all. My understanding is that Uconnect Access is embedded in the 8.4A and 8.4AN radios which are otherwise identical to the 8.4 and 8.4N and so removing the grayed out key would likely be a large corporate expense in the overall picture.
