I rechecked the
I've tried to have DRL activated on my 2013 Journey Crew VIN# 3C4PDCDG3DT558171 bought used 7/15/2015 by showing the Dealers service writer the posts http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/2760-daytime-running-lights-activated/page-5#entry26839 saying to add LMK but the response has been "it can't be done."
Since then I've stumbled onto this thread were people report success in having DRL added.
Please help. What do I have to do/say at the dealer to get DRL enabled ?
I rechecked your VIN today and code LMK is still not present for me to add...sorry.

Nice to see vehicles that are well cared for!!!
I love a clean car! I'm convinced they run better when they're all cleaned up like new You should see what comes into my dealership. Beautiful, expensive vehicles that are just trashed. Dents and scratches all over them, paint that hasn't been washed in weeks or more, interiors full of dirt, sand, old food, clothing, garbage. It's so sad. I could never live that way. It's a no-brainer that your car will last longer when well-cared for. But there's something about driving a freshly cleaned, detailed car - it's like it's new all over again. I still feel that way about my beloved 300M after all these years and miles.

Electric power steering is not used on the Journey. It is a hydraulic pump. The service manager may be confusing the system with that of the Cherokee. The 3.2 V6 Cherokee uses electric power steering. The Grand Cherokee 3.6 uses an electro-hydraulic system (electric pump which is not belt driven) .The Journey 3.6 uses a conventional belt driven pump.
My engine makes a lower pitched moaning sound on cold starts. Does not have to be cold ambient temps, just a cold engine. This sound is common to the 3.6 and is more prevalent on transverse applications such as the Journey and the minivans. Applications where the engine is longitudinal make less noise for some reason. Not sure which accessory is responsible.

A battery disconnect should be done at the negative battery post as opposed to the jump start post. I tried to reboot a radio in a Grand Cherokee at the jump start post and it didn't work. Unhooked it from the battery and it did the trick. There is still live power on the bus cable unless you disconnect from the battery. It's a pain in the butt on the Journey but it's the only sure way to kill the voltage completely.

Journeyman its no lo ver under warranty. Ive already looked into that. Its a 3.6
Dhh3 the tourque converter was conpletely replaced when they rebuilt our transmission. They are saying it was a faulty part the second time we had it in when they had to replace the tourque converter again.
In the United States the warranty on the left cylinder head is 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Are you sure it's out? It's no trouble for me to check.

We've never done the swap at my shop, but the STAR case from Chrysler clearly states to reconfigure the vehicle after the code is added. Otherwise, the car does not know the feature is there.
I know that when we added trailer tow wiring to my own Journey after I bought it, the trailer lights did not work until we added the sales code for trailer wiring and then reconfigured the car - then they worked.

Hi - yes I'm still monitoring this thread. Sorry about the PM, I don't know why some people are not able to send them. I checked your VIN but neither code is currently available for me to add. Went through this once before late in 2014/early 2015 so stay tuned, I may be able to do it in the future if corporate puts the sales codes back.

Regular rotation is very important to extending the life of most tires. Our Journey has the 19" Kumhos. They have been rotated every 10K miles. We have over 52,000 miles on the car now and I'm ready to replace them. They are not bald, but down to about 3/32" all the way around. I have another set at my shop ready to be installed.

There are no airbag recalls currently out for the Journeys. ABS, Radio Software and the Engine Beauty Cover on the 2.4 are the only ones for certain VINs (not all). Post the last eight digits of your VIN or PM me with it and I'll see if anything is outstanding for yours.
