Everytime I buy a car I tell myself, "I'm not changing this one!". My Grand Prix lasted a week. My Special lasted 4 months, ish, before the SRI and SRT Design wheels happened. My Charger lasted two months before projectors went into it.
I broke a record with my Journey... a whole year! I'm not counting the front molded slush mats as a mod.
It was up in the air whether or not my Special was going to make it to Carlisle in July with the engine making a tapping noise that I now believe may be an exhaust leak at the passenger manifold. She wound up making it, but since it was a 50/50 shot I figured I'd make a few quick 5 minute changes to my R/T Journey.
So... I ordered from eBay some 6000K LED reverse bulbs and 6000K LED fog light bulbs. I also ordered 6000K LED 194 bulbs from VLEDs to update the license plate lights. Still trying to find something to fit the cargo lights.
Yes, the car is filthy. It rained almost non-stop for weeks. Deal with it.

Yes it looks awkward having bright white LED foglights and standard halogen headlamps. I'm considering acquiring new headlamps and projectors during TRSs black Friday sale and fixing that either before winter chokes us again, or in the spring.

My Nitro had a tow/haul switch. What it did, was not allow it to shift into OD, and changed the shift points. I believe that the top three gears (maybe 2) are OD in our DJs. So, when towing, try putting it in 5, and see if the temps do not rise. Then try 4, and see what you get. Of course, you mpgs are going to drop, but it may keep the temps where they are supposed to be.

My trans temp hit 206 today for the first time ever. That was pulling a 5x14 trailer with 1400 lbs of atv's. Total weight is right at 2500 lbs. yours is way too high. Were you climbing a mountain?

I would definitely have it checked. I drive truck for a living, and one of our Mack's had an issue of always running hot. The water temp would be 220, oil temp at 280, etc. it ended up being an issue with the computer not being calibrated correctly. It was giving thhe instrument cluster the wrong info. I'm wondering if it's possible with your car, especially with the coolant temp reaching one notch belie the red.

Finally! The Journey came in and this one was not damaged during transport nor did it have any other damage. We thoroughly checked out the vehicle history and the vehicle. We drove it home last night! So, it is ours. The storm grey pearl coat is gorgeous!
And, we purchased the extended warranty as well as gap coverage. We are always ridiculously over warrantied and insured on everything we own, but knew the one time we didn't purchase it that something would go wrong.
Thank you for all of you input and advice. Love how it drives so far. It has a bit more power than my older 4 cylinder SUV and the brakes are much more sensitive, which is a good thing. I can't wait to sit in it and figure out all the buttons.

    Dj,
The dealer told me I was feeling the power booster activate. Shouldn't this feel smooth? It feels just as you described. Its a spring sound when the pedal gets pressed in half way. Its driving me crazy.

My 2013 had a power booster fail when it was 3 weeks old. The spring inside the booster broke, and the pedal felt and sounded kinda like bumping your foot on one of those spring thingys for a door in a house. I can't think of a better way to describe it.

    Hello y'all!
First week of ownership and wanted to put out my honest feelings about my new Journey.
Despite all of the bad reviews of this model, no matter where you look. It is blatantly apparent that no automotive
tester has little good to say about these cars. Unless it's an import they are testing. Then they get rave reviews.
Anyhow, I truly think they have hired Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder to do the reviews.
Truth be told, I love Chrysler products. Have only had a couple that weren't up par on certain things.
    Data: 2015 Journey SE/AVP 2.4L I4
    Miles: 655
    Date of Purchase: 6-11-15
Appearance: Excellent quality paint and fitment of doors, hood, hatchback. Interior panels snug and secure. Doors seal tightly with no
    wind or water leaks.
Ride Quality: Excellent with good control over mountain roads and interstate travel. Very low road noise migrates into the cabin.
Handling : Really nice tight turning radius! No drifting or tire grab during lane changes. Not a sports car, but good solid steering feel and
    control on tight country roads.
Braking: Smooth and quiet with no pulsations.
Visibility: Very good, despite the large A pillar design which makes you look twice just to make sure. Same as every other vehicle made
today. Rear door windows are large and help in those over the shoulder or merging situations.
Cargo Capacity: Will hold pretty much $600 worth of groceries! We shop once a month and the Journey swallowed it all with no problem!
Performance and Fuel Economy: The 2.4 VVT is not the anemic slug people describe it as. Your not going to due burnouts like John Force with it, but
during normal driving it accelerates smoothly and allows for good merging on acceleration ramps into traffic.
Even in the upper rpm ranges (4000-5500) it doesn't sound like it wants to explode from the strain. Good mid range torque for it's displacement. The 4 speed auto may be outdated, but paired with this engine it works well, keeping it in the power band without a lot of upshifting and downshifting.
I took a 315 mile trip on Thursday with it. Combination of Interstate and 62 miles over the Great Smokey Mtn Parkway. Parkway grades are between 5 and 8%. The Journey never strained to maintain 73 mph(Interstate) on the hills in East TN and NC. Pulling up over the parkway was no issue. The auto stick is wonderful on those long steep down grades, 2nd gear was all that was needed to maintain 30-35 mph coming down the twisty mountain roads.
Average fuel economy for the 315 mile loop was 28.3 mpg, and hand calculated came up with 28.1 mpg.
Accessories: The base radio and 4.3 uconnect work great. Best sounding stock sound system I have ever had in a vehicle. Yeah even listening to AC/DC and ZZ Top!
I am extremely happy with my purchase. We will see how it does over the long term.

Coming up on 36000 miles so we went ahead and made an appointment to get the car checked out, tell them about the front end clunks, transmission clunks and the clock running fast. They kept it a day and said the radio needed a part (Radio/Telematics Gateway Module) and the front end noise was from dry away bar bushings, so the lubricated the bushings. They had to order the part for the radio so we got the car back until the part came in. On the transmission, they said they could find no problem. There were no software updates, the fluid was fine and what we are experiencing is "normal operation". OK, I don't have a problem with that and the fact they found nothing mechanically wrong means I'm not worrying about it anymore. On the way home, we had to go to a mall with some speed bumps, clunk was still there....lol...I kinda new it would be. Anyway, they got the part for the clock/radio in so we took it back. This time I took that service bulletin in and showed it to them (the one posted somewhere on here about front end clunks where they say to replace the struts and strut mounts), The service adviser said they had access to all those bulletins and I said, well did you check it out? So they kept it another day and low and behold, they found the problem. So, now we have new struts and strut mounts. 4 wheel alignment included, all at no charge. The clunking is GONE!!! I'll update if the clock slows down.
