I agree that the overall cost / km will likely be somewhat higher ... however, we are in Windsor which is not really known for major snow storms ... most winters are -5 degrees to + 5 degrees with mostly wet snow, freezing rain, etc...We used to live in Barrie and commute into Toronto daily and in that situation - I would have had dedicated winter tires in a heartbeat!

The Toyo rep indicated that the mileage warranty is 100,000 km for H rated and 80,000 km for V rated tires - plus road hazard is included for about $200 bucks a tire installed.  Dedicated winters + steel wheels and TPMS were $275.00  / tire all in ... I put up a new thread about this which I will keep up to date over the next several months ...

    Cheers.

rolly reacted to LisaLeeMcLeod in P235/55/R19 Toyo Celcius CUV All Weather Tires
    Hi All

We just installed two sets of Toyo Celcius CUV all weather tires P235/55/R19 onto our stock 19" Chrome Clad Wheels for both of our 2012 Journeys.  We needed to get rid of the Kuhmos that the Journeys came with and these tires from Toyo seemed to be the best option for us.  As these are a newer tire line from Toyo with very little owner commentary on overall durability and driving/ownership impressions in different situations - I thought that I would keep up a running commentary for the rest of this year and into the spring of next year for anyone who may be considering these tires.

We opted for the Toyo over the Nokian WRG3 due to cost and some durability concerns on the Nokian Tire.  We were also considering Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires as an all season option but decided Toyo was the way to go ...

    First impressions:

    1.  Toyo sales rep dropped off a box of 12 Callaway golf balls at the tire dealer for my wife and I, plus a coffee mug and some other swag - Nice touch & very unexpected
    2.  They look great on the 19" Clad Wheels - and are a little beefier than the original tires.
    3.  We have only put 10 km on them so far - I will update this post again next week after we have put the first 100 or so km's on them - but so far they feel solid and are very quiet considering the tread is pretty aggressive.

I had a set of Sailun Winter Tires on my 2008 Pontiac G5 Coupe.  They worked very well driving from Barrie into Toronto on a daily basis.  I had them on for all our winters that I owned the car and sold them with the car and they still had about 50% of their tread left.  They handled the daily 400 commute well enough.  They were better on slush and ice than deep snow (over 6") but I would buy another set if I needed to ...

I will preface by saying this: I am not a mechanic.  The first thing I would do is question your cylinder compression tester.  190 sounds quite high.  If so, cyl 5 may be 10 or 15.  Just sayin'.   My 2011 had the cylinder 2 misfire and bad head issue.  I understand that the engines are not the same.  Rather than throwing expensive parts at yours, I'd get a diagnosis from a Dodge service center.  If you can fix it, then do so.   If not, let them handle it.   Good luck.

    Peace.

    An update:
Had the Journey in to the dealer and the top end of the engine (lifters and PCV valve) needed replacement.
They said the low oil didn't necessarily have anything to do with it. Sometimes it just happens.
BIG SUPRISE was even though I was past the 5 year warranty, my kms were so low, they made a good will offer that Dodge Canada
would provide the parts. I just had to pay for labor! $2000 job became $550! Was never so happy to spend 500 bucks!!
They did give me a check your oil lecture!

just to update,   I checked the fluid level and it was at or just below the "min" line on the reservoir.   so I added more fluid to the "max" line (proper fluid) and about a day or so later,  the noise has now disappeared.  All seems ok.

maybe took a bit of time for extra fluid to get into the system.   who knows.

anyways just thought I would update this thread for the benefit of others.

The Cherokee Forum I found is jeepcherokeeclub.com, based in Toronto.  Is this the one you are on?  It is for 2014 - 2016 Cherokees.
I'll stick around for a while and add input if needed!

I did 28+ mpg on the 150 mile trip home with the 2012 SXT, as indicated by the computer traveling 72-73mph. Used cruise control but no drafting or anything special.  Seems like pretty good mileage using E10 for a vehicle rated 25mpg highway.

rolly got a reaction from dhh3 in 2014 Journey R/T Purchased - Extended Warranty Worth It?
First of all, welcome to the forum. I have to agree that the extended warranty is a good idea. As far as the $1985.00 for the cost, the cost of some of the potential repairs
you could be faced with will make this a bargain.

Check to see if the recall for the Power Steering hose applies to your vehicle. Here's the link http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/Recall.html

You can also contact FCA canada Customer Care centre 1-800-465-2001 or www.fcacanada.ca/en/contact_us.php

    You'll need your VIN number.
