  1. I invested a while back ago a digital torque adapter from CanTire and always torque the wheel nuts to spec....most shops just impact wrench them on without using a torque wrench resulting in over torqued nuts.
  2. 95 ft. lbs. (130 N-m) is what is stated (page 431) in the 2011 owners manual.
  3. I knew that opening the dash comment would get you in trouble!!!! You thought they were safe with warranty....LOL!
  4. Ticking noise from the left side would be the sign of trouble followed by misfires.....anyhow so far so good for my DJ.
  5. Received my letter today too.....I really have mixed feelings about it. Yes the coverage is for 10 years but this type of repair kind of creeps me out. Any early signs of problems I should be looking out for?
  6. Ciao Matteo_LX and welcome to the forum!
  7. Yes it will. There are a few threads that discuss the grille conversion....here is one of them: http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/2418-2011-honeycomb-grille/?hl=grille
  8. I just recently did the same except using Advance Auto's Wearever brand.which I am very happy with. We'll see how long they last but for now I and especially the wife are very happy that it stops without the shaky steering wheel. I won't be doing the bigger brake upgrade cuz rotors are pretty cheap and I haven't got fed up to the point of investing that much money and time to replacing them. Plus I got 16" winter tires which would have to be replaced to accommodate the bigger calipers.
  9. Unless you are in the severe duty situation like towing, police, taxi, or city driving 3,000 miles/3 months is a little too soon considering oils can go much longer than that. If you do low mileage then 6 months should be the maximum time before you do your next oil change. As 2late4u mentioned you can check the owners manual to refer to their OCI as the manual trumps whatever your dealer tells you.. I personally like to replace mine at about 8000 km's/6 months (5000 miles) with synthetic oil.
  10. That's what I thought Journeyman425. Best to stick with what's in there.
  11. I wonder when i flush the HOAT in my 2011 if it can be replaced with new OAT coolant....not sure if it would suffer any ill effects on gaskets and so on.
  12. For pads and rotors I would definitely go the aftermarket route then you can decide if you want to get the daily driver brake parts that are as good, if not better than OEM (cheaper too) or go all out and get the best of the best brake parts that will definitely exceed OEM performance.
  13. That is great that you gave a plug to the dealership as it seems they deserve some recognition for their outstanding service.
  14. I just checked the CT sneak preview flyer and it is showing another week of the buy 3 and get the 4th free tire deal.
  15. Congrats and welcome to the forum!
  16. Log into the Canadian Tire website and check out the flyers in your area to see if it applies to B.C. as well. http://www.canadiantire.ca/en.html
  17. Yup, I got my front rotors from Advance Auto last year when I was in Florida and ordered them online from the hotel....still sitting at home waiting to be used. They were at a decent price with the online discount. Rockauto and Amazon is also a great option! I'm assuming you are doing your own brake work so if you want to try out the Callahan's then why don't you? The worst that will happen is they don't last long or less stopping power and you will need to replace them a little sooner....at that point switch out the rotors to Wagners and write off the Callahan's as a bad experience. The cost of the Callahan's definitely won't put you in the poor house and they may even surprise you. Although, if you are expecting superior performance and durability for that little money then I would say not put your hopes up that high.

  20. If anyone is looking for synthetic motor oil this week CanTire has Pennzoil Platinuim "Pure Plus Technology" (made from natural gas) on special for 27.99....hold on it gets better....if you get the 5 litre container with the $5.00 off coupon sticker attached with taxes and everything it works out to $26.64 which is awesome for a quality synthetic oil like this. If your CanTire runs out take your flyer and Walmart will ad match. Hope this helps!!
  21. Welcome to the forum!! Congrats on your Journey! I did my drive down to Florida last summer and will be doing it again this summer and I will tell you I was impressed how well it did especially with the fuel economy. I averaged around 7.8L/100kms and hope to do better this summer.
  22. If I am seeing correctly the coolant looks a little low....especially in the before picture.
