yep, city driving is brutal. I get about 16mpg. Highway I've gotten as high as 28.

have you looked at the Saris Bones? I have it. Works well. Can't remember how much I paid for it.

my '11 AWD Journey was very good in snow with stock 19" Kumhos, and now with Blizzaks it's amazing. I'll go out in anything, and have. Yesterday there were so many people ice fishing, there was no plowed parking at the trailhead, so I buried the car in 1-1/2' of snow and drove out no problem. I have driven 4+ hours in raging Nor'Easters twice on way back from mountain climbing in northern New England. Makes me wonder how someone else's Journey could be bad.

I read an article in Car and Driver recently that said how quickly Blizzaks wear above 45F. They are only a 15k mile tire I think. yikes. That makes it tough here in CT cuz we can have warm weather between snow storms. I'm going to take mine off earlier than usual this year. I'd like to get three winters out of them.

Two things: 1. As I'm sure most of you know, these tires are excellent in snow. They changed my car from being really good in snow, to being amazing in snow. We got pounded this winter here in CT, and I drove through some really crappy conditions with the utmost in confidence. I'm almost at the level of my wife's Forester, it's that good. 2. THANK YOU BRIDGESTONE!!!.... I won the tires for free through their Conquer The Cold contest. I guessed the temp at puck drop for the NHL Classic correctly at 17 degrees F. Supposedly in a few weeks I'll get a prepaid Visa with the amount I paid for the tires. Not too shabby. I also got a sweet Reebok softshell jacket in the deal. Already was Bridgestone customer for life, now even more so.

someone on here did the exhaust system, and depending on your tastes, was pretty good. Significant noise increase. He posted a drive-by video.

I drove the first three winters with no snows, just the stock Kumhos, and now with Blizzaks, wow, I thought the car was good in snow before... It's incredible now.

funny cuz just last night I was jokingly messing around with my friend on our way to our Tuesday night hike, and I floored it when we left the light, and left his 325iX in the dust. I think he was surprised. I know I was. I didn't think that would happen.

Nice list of likes and dislikes. And good to see a fellow CT Journey driver on here. I'm in the "Dirty-den" (Meriden). quote: The A-pillar and mirror combo are huge and hinder vision. I'm sure it would be the same on similar vehicles. It just takes some getting used to. This was an issue for me too for probably the first year of ownership. Depending on instersection elevation and angle of car sitting at stop sign to my right, sometimes they were completely hidden. I have learned to make a conserted effort to lean forward and look through windshield to right before moving through a four way intersection. This is a problem with lots of cars these days. The pillars are too thick. I agree on the too quick upshifts. Especially when the car had not reached operating temp. yet. Try using Magic Erasers on your wheels, especially down in the corners where the brake dust discolors them. They will look like new again. I cannot speak to what this will do for the paint and/or clearcoat in the long run though. I get that same whining noise, and so far at 41,000 miles it has not resulted in anything bad happening. I agree with you, it sounds like the power steering pump. I wish there was easy access to third row through the middle of the second row like in the GMC Acadia and Chevy Traverse. cheers

I like to hear about you guys trading in for a newer model. I could possibly see me doing that someday. For now, my '11 is just fine for a few more years. I bought this car because the second I test drove it, the ride, sound, power, feel and fit-finish reminded me of Lincoln Town Cars, of which I drove thousands of miles as a part time chauffeur. I pined for a Town Car someday, and I feel like I got something even better. This is the first car I've had in a while that I'm in no hurry to trade in.

curious if the roof rails can be removed? Is there a filler piece that is needed once they are removed? I dislike the look of the roof rails, and I'll never use them.

funny I was just thinking about this a few days ago when I was changing the oil. That looks like an easy mod, and I wonder what it would sound like.

They arrived today and look great. Now I can't wait for winter to end, and it hasn't even started yet. Yes I'll post pictures in the spring. By the way, GREAT job packaging. That was super professional. thank you

^^ That's good to know. I had Blizzaks many years ago, and recall liking them, but I'm sure their design and rubber composition has changed since. the last snow tires I had were Michelin X-Ice on the Mazda 5 I had before the Journey. They performed well.

^^have you had your WS70s in the snow yet?

If I could get those for $800 shipped to Connecticut, I'd probably buy them. They really only have about 2,500 miles on them and are defect free? btw, those 22s look great on your Journey.

that would be a lot of wheels and tires haha. At one time I had two sets of wheels for my convertible too, and the attic above the garage was pretty crowded.
