2late4u replied to Tig's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
thanks for the info, it sure might come in helpful for posters who are having problems,,my daughter was having problems with her older caravan and the problem ended up being a wire shorting out in the connector making her coil short out and go bad,was a hard thing to trace down as well congratulation on solving your problem -
Dodge Journey Question - Which One?
2late4u replied to CStringer15's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
sun roof = possible leaks...3.6 more power but more expense on plugs and repairs if ever needed. 2.4 less power but enough for a daily driver easier plug changes as well, might want to see about a new journey if any left since they are being phased out, full warranty, lower interest rates on loans also should be able to get a better price on the bare bones one as at 19k that was probally what it cost someone when they bought it brand new....good luck with ever which one you choose -
the fluid is your transfluid, the cv should just pop out i used a long pry bar to use to pop it off just dont damage the face of the seal and there should be just none to minala amount of trans fluid to leak out.be careful replacing the new unit in and not scrape the seal as it is being done,i havent ever replaced one in a journey but did several in my caravan,,check out youtube for videos on how to do it,, never had to replace the seal myself as it was always the cv joint going bad...good luck

try your local dealership for the correct part that said also check ....https://www.moparwholesaleparts.com for the strut this is what i found,it shows a exploded diagram so dont know if it is a complete unit or what also i would replace BOTH struts just so you will know for sure the are the same ,Good luck and also check your local custom car shops to see what they have to offer compared to the OEM brand Home MOPAR 68039642AG Suspension Strut, Right - Mopar (68039642AG)

thank you for posting back what they found ...hopefully many miles of carefree driving in your future -
i do know that the pads they use on the journeys now are a great quality pad, also my daughter drives a jeep patriot on her mail route and the oem pads worked better and lasted longer than the wagner thermoquiet pads i replaced them with, and just this last time i went back with the mopar oem pads, they are a better quality pad

are you still within your 3/36k warranty? -
my 2014 while i was on a trip all of a sudden went to max pressure but the engine sounded fine, next day got it to the dealership they said the oil sensor went bad but that the oil pressure was still normal just the sensor was shorted out he said a lot of the 2014 were having problems with this problem from the manufacturer supplier, i was lucky as i had bought the lifetime warranty on my journey so it just cost me my ded of $100 also got a free car rental while they fixed the journey havent had any other problems with it since,,,, cost at dealership is around 500 back then...days of cheap repairs are over unless you can do them

first oem battery is not always better than most batteries but better than some of them..everyone has their own thought on that,,,and yes the gps is probally your suspect cause for the battery drain, so i assume you didnt buy new or from a dodge dealership, i have a friend and they own a buy here pay here car lot and they put gps on all the vehicles so in case they have to track them down to repo them.... -

Alternator was checked by mechanic that had said the previous battery tested fine. find a new better qualified mechanic, as he missed a bad battery, start checking for a bad alt or electrical draw while park -
16' Dodge Journey radio
2late4u replied to ahunt17's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
well sounds like the new one is NOT working or maybe you bent a pin in the connector or didnt get it properly connected also no mention what was wrong with the old screen for you to have to replace it. recheck your install to make sure it is NOT your mistake. No way for us to know what is wrong without more info..,.where did you buy the replacement screen? call them after checking your install and see what they suggest on returning it for a good one,,,,good luck and report back on what you find out -

did you follow up on the suggestions that were voiced before like having the alt checked to see if it is working properly?, did you check for any power draws when it is shut off? at least you should still be able to get another battery under warranty since less than the 1 yr timeframe,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, so who was doing the oil change and said that the transmission fluid was "sweating" i have never heard that one before , it could be leaking but not sweating fluid.must have been a quick oil change place i would assume,,,if you are using a good quality battery than yes you DO have something going on to run it down, have it checked out and yes that will cost you some $$ good luck -
Wipers go up but not down
2late4u replied to Brother_Dave's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
well if it's not the motor than it has to be the linkage arms from the motor to the wipers make sure nothing is blocking the arms or that the bushings are not loose or broken, also as a side note go buy you some windshield protectant called rain x. it works wonders you almost dont need your wipers,,, just clean your window real good then put on the rain x i always put it on a couple of times and then let it dry then spray a bit of window cleaner on it and wipe off the hase,,,,good luck -
first off you didnt say this to begin with, you just stated your problem then blamed dodge for it. I wasnt trying to be rude, i offered some solutions to your problem as well

seams like i read somewhere that they heater core has 2 separate sides for left and right? that might account for this problem ,but it just doesn't sound right 2 separate cooling zones.
-
only the drivers electric seat can be lowered, passenger seat as far as i know does not come electric if it does then you could find one in a scrap yard and swap them out,,, or you could find a electric drivers side seat and pay someone to install it on the passenger side but that will include doing extra wiring and also fooling with the air bags. and seat belts and that wont come cheap.........years ago i learned this with electric seats gave me more room for my legs and ride height since i am a big and tall person over a cheap manually seat

hate bring this up but i would be ready to replace the heater core esp since you used such a strong acid by mistake, usually when you backflush a heater core it will start leaking down the road as the heater cores are a more fragile cooler than the rad. hoping for that not to happen to you tho,,to be honest replacing the heater core does not look that bad as some youtube videos show how to do a shortcut on doing it, and also by replacing it you would have to not worry about it starting to plug up again or worse start leaking inside the cabin at a difficult time or place, great write up on a frustrating repair that never seems to end...sounds like you are a good mechanic or car guy so guess you know your transmission is about to need to be serviced as well at 100k,,,take care and stay safe.....

if you cant any paint you might have to just go to your automotive paint store and buy a small can of what you want and also buy a small sprayer as well they can be bought cheap of course what you pay for is what you get in quality...good luck also try ebay i would be certain they will have what you need as well
