  1. well that is how you check a cv joint and they usually will click when they are going bad, after market joints are alot cheaper but their quality is not as good as oem parts, you might have got a bad one. if you bought it locally from from a parts store you could get their manager to ride and hear it and they probably will replace it under warranty. when you installed the shaft into the trans did you make sure it engaged and locked in real good ? you should have been able to jerk on it like you were removing it and it would have stayed locked in? i replaced both in my daughters caravan that she uses on her postal route and about 5 months down the road the right side came apart at the joint ,she probably hit a deep pothole while turning so we had to take it back to the store and they gave us a new one under warranty...anyways good luck so is it making a clunk when going straight or just turning, just a little confused on your question ?
  2. warped rotors will make the brake pedal pulse and the steering wheel vibrate some. if its only doing it while you are slowing down but in gear not sure if it would be the rotors try to get it to do it and when it starts bump it out of gear and if it stops doing it then you know its not the rotors, other than that might be the clutch if you are slowing down to fast for the gear that you are in. i am sure you will get better advice from some of our more mech.readers on here..... good luck and ,make sure you repost when you get it fixed and let us know what it was , we get a lot of one time posters here or they never replied back after they get it fixed....
  3. air tools are no substitute to torque wrench but i am sure that is not the problem, no mention on how many miles of the journey or if the trans fluid has ever been changed but considering your mention of fluid color i guess it hasn't been changed at all. did the trans ever clunk before the work? hey my 2011 and my newer 2014 both have clunked before and still do every so often when going from park to drive or reverse to drive not to othen ,but it happens to journeys once in a while never have i turned my wheels slowly and heard it clunk only when actually shifting the shifter. did you use a aftermarket cv joint or a mopar cv joint.good luck with what ever you find, i dont think you have any real problem that i would be worried about. you are probably just thinking that you are hearing it more now since you worked on it be sure to post back whatever you find out about your journey......
  4. try putting old ones back in to see if you get the error again if not put one led light at a time to see if you get the error again....
  5. check your front wheel bearings, my daughters caravan started making noises something like that. jack up one side at a time grab the wheel and see how it spins and try to move it side to side in all directions shouldn't have no movement except turning the wheel. they are easy to change out.good luck how many miles on the journey?
  6. i usually do my own rotation on the tires myself but since i had the lifetime bal and rotation i thought what the hell....i will rotate them myself from now on and only balance them if i think they need it....
  7. well just got back from having my tires balanced the 2nd time in 4 days. my 2014 needed new tires a while ago so i got some off discount tire and took them to the walmart that i like it is about 24 miles from my house good mech there.Well have I about 7k on them so i thought since i have lifetime rotation and bal thur wal mart might as well have them done so instead of driving the 24 miles i went to the local walmart less than 2 miles from my house that i really dont like that much.I figured hey its only a balance and rotation how could they mess that up...LOL guess they showed me so I havent drove the journey much just in town driving so we have to go the doctors office in the bigger city and have a serious vibration at around 60-70 mph real bad so get back home and take a look and all the tires have weights on them in fact one has a shit load of them so i drive it the 23 miles to the walmart that i had them mounted the first time , and they come out and just shaking their heads about the balance job they said one wheel had so many wheel weights spread out around half of the tire and between all 4 tires theirs was at least 1lb of weights that didnt need to be there. Well it drove like a charm going home so i called the walmart that i just left and asked for the manager and told him what his mech. found and that the car was driving like a dream. he said thanks but sounded like well why did you call and tell me this so i said just wanted to let you know that your guys did a fantastic job and solved my problem that was caused by a different store so then he sounded better about my return call.... so be care full about who works on your car and when you have good ones dont thing well how bad could they mess it up........ Was thinking should i take my paperwork back up to the walmart close to my house that did the terrible job and ask to see the manger and tell him what the other walmart store found was wrong, so he could address the problems with his workers or just forget it. what would you all do?????
  8. welcome to the group...
  9. just a thought my daughter's van was dripping just a little it was a new rad put in because a fan blade broke and went thur the rad. any way. i had a new cap left over from my work days from the plant so i put it on her new rad and it stopped the leak from the cap. just a thought....
  10. didnt even know we had a light in the glove box....LOL hope they get to the bottom of your problem.
  11. have someone cycle your squirters for you while you are looking underneath your journey that will be the only way to see where it is coming from. the pics are useless...
  12. well i was thinking of pulling my front wheels to check the pads but at only 41 k i am feeling a little lazy and will wait till about 60k to check them i guess
  13. well just passed the 41 k mark... lol burning the roads up......
  14. at what mileage did you do your transmission fluid and filter change i was asking my dealer and they want you to change it at about 50-60k and i asked him wasn't that for cars that were in heavy duty use or heavy towing and that the book says about 100k and he kind of hem hawed a bit and said well ya but we recommend it sooner than later...dealer wants about $150 to do the service..
  15. might be rough on the feet if you are wearing flip flops and misjudge when getting into your journey....
  16. show us how they mount with a pic do they screw down into the door threshold..
  17. great to hear from you... welcome to the group..
  18. your doing good on that one jkeaton, i put one in my 2011 at about 60 k then traded it in at 70 k for my 2014.
  19. looking good welcome to the group.....
  20. yea i remember them, only thing different is back then you were on your back looking up now days your standing and looking down when changing that oil filter....
  21. should still be under factory warranty take it to the dealer if so.good luck
  22. i used them on my daughters van and before installing them i compared them with the first strut i took off and evrything was an exact match. So take some measurements of bolt holes and length and some good pics of your strut and then go to the local parts store and check their parts or better yet talk to them and i am sure they would say buy them and if they dont match up or fit they would let you return them.... good luck and you can them alot cheaper on amazon then the local parts store, but returns would be alot worse
  23. found a u tube video made by a Chrysler tech showing how to find and get the old oil sender unit out without removing the intake so it is possible you do need a special kind socket and be a little limber to reach it.of course the dealership and most mechanics go by the book on how much labor they charge even if they use the short cut. the part at advance auto is $46. and isnt carried in stock has to be ordered so you could expert the dealers price to be higher...
  24. they supplied some plastic sleeves to change the color of the light i put the blue ones on but didnt like the white- blue hue it gave so took them off and it gives a more white light so going to not use the sleeves ,they also had some slightly yellow sleeves also.they went it very easy and seem better than the stock bulbs , wrapedd the old bolds up in some paper towel and put them in a plastic bag and stuck them in the floor bins in case they are needed later on...
  25. well you might be right on an experienced mechanic could change it out faster than most people BUT when your 300 miles from home and no tools or even wanting to try and change it out. at least it is covered for my peace of mind for as long as i own it by using the dodge dealership . I was just putting some info out there for the other readers to hear as he said also that he has seen a few of these sender switches go bad. plus the switch at auto zone was about $30-40 so of course the dealers price would be more. and as for the lights maybe i did buy a cheap set as you say they are but they are on and looks like they are throwing more light then my org. ones.i didnt bother to check the cutoff as you are saying, but drove them down the road and no one was flashing me so i would assume there is no problem there... thanks for your input no matter on how negative you always seem to be.....I also was pointing out that this was a covered part on the extended unlimited yrs. and miles warranty..
