  1. I have not noticed any signigicant oil consumption on mine. Sometimes new motors will burn a little bit of oil. Sometimes they don't. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it does not become excessive. If it burns more than a quart between oil changes the I would have it checked out. Also check the service department for what they consider acceptable oil consumption. A Dodge truck I had was considered acceptable to use a quart every 3k miles according to Dodge anyways.
  2. I have AWD and love it. Weather is the main reason for having AWD for me. If you drive a truck in snow with 4wd on and then off you will see why it is better. Yes awd can get a person in a bigger mess because of a false security and it can get you out of a lot of trouble if you do slip up every now and then. Plus I don't like having to switch tires for different seasons. Give me a good all season tire, awd and I am set. So far the Khumo tires on the Journey has done very well for me.
  3. The nav works ok for me. But I like my portable Garmin better. The Garmin is easier to input destinations.
  4. First off welcome to the club! And HUH? What did I miss.
  5. Another option would be to use 3M clear protecrion film(clear bra stuff). probably cost more but should be fairly easy to install.
  6. Advertising new models seem to be a real weak point with Dodge. I know of a few vehicles in there lineup that most people don't know about.
  7. I like that style of rim. Kinda "Viperish". I likey alot!
  8. Mine will make the scrape sound too. I think just about any other wiper will be better than OEM. I don't drive mine enough either to worry about it. Also we don't get a lot of moisture were I am at.
  9. I would say a lack of parts also. Last summer I needed some work done on my Cummins and the dealership could not get hardly any parts for anything and did not even know when they would be able to get them.
  10. For the most part I like it. I like the grill the most. The smoked lights are a nice touch too. I don't think I would like to have the fronts smoked. Kinda like to see at night. Now the tails look really good. I don't care for the black rims. Never have really liked them. Every now and then I will see one I like. It is your car and you do what you like.
  11. So far mine has good. Yeah I have heard of car companies checking forums. Mostly to void warranties is the rumor I hear. Kinda like posting a vid of street racing and getting arrested. Any other updates on others?
  12. I have never found fog lights to be "fog lights". Maybe it has been the vehicles I have had. But I do not see a vast improvement in vision with them on and can't see why they are called fog lights. So on that note my fog lights are normal to me.
  13. I have the 3.5L and have the oil changed when the oil change indicator dings. Normally I change my oil between 3-5k miles. Not sure what that converts to. I still have the lifetime warranty and if the motor goes kaput, hopefully Dodge will honor the warranty if it is oil related. Although I probably won't keep the Journey for that long. I usually switch vehicles every few years.
  14. I haven't noticed that with mine. But I had a Dodge Ram auto trans that would do that if it didn't move for a while and that was normal for it.
  15. Let us know when you get it!

    Most miles?

I am really pilling on the miles compared to what I usually put on. Right around 11k with 1 1/2 years of service.
  17. One thing I did to get Chrysler moving in the right direction for me was to call their customer service number in the lemon law book that came with the vehicle. The person I talked to was helpfull. At that time he said he was going to schedule an appointment with their traveling mechanic. Supposedly that person has a big influence on lemon lawing your car from Chrysler's standpoint. Within minutes of getting off the phone with him my dealership called me telling me when that person could look at my car. Then the waiting process began. It took over a month for the guy to look at my car and they had my car for over a month too. So far so good. I haven't noticed any drowning water inside the cabin. For the final steps I took were. 1. Contact Chysler and mail into them the notice to tell them this is your last chance to fix it or you will be hearing from my lawyer. 2. Also tell the dealership working on the car that this is your last chance to fix it. 3. Get a lawyer to handle the rest.
  18. I agree with your statement of going someplace else. But not everybody has that option. My dealer in town was shut down by Chrysler and now I have to go 30 miles to get warranty work done. And after that it is over 120 miles to the next nearest delaer.
  19. This is excellent advice. It is very difficult to diagnose a problem over the internet. Without physically inspecting the problem we are only providing and educated GUESS from previous expierence. In a nutshell this is excellent advice. Trying to diagnose a problem over the internet is difficult and can lead you in the wrong way. Without physically inspecting the problem we are GUESSING with previous expierence.
  20. I finally got my car back Tuesday and it seems to be fixed. There is still some water that drips in, an occasional drip here and there. Much better than before and it does not leak into the headliner. I did a quick test when I picked it up I would turn the fan speed on high for the HVAC and have the sunroof vented. Then I would close it and could feel the pressure difference with my ears. So it is a much better seal.
  21. I would bet the 1000 lb rating is tongue load. I don't know much about towing but that number seems a little high for tongue load for a vehicle rated to tow 3500 lbs. Can't help you on the stretched leather. I only have 9k miles on mine.
  22. I am on visit number 4 and if it wasn't for the lack of parts availability I would have had mine back by now to see if it still leaks. For sure you have a good case for lemon law regardless of which state you are in. Most states consider a minimum of 3 visits, 30 days for repair and you have met those. I hope they get you a new ride with no sunroof. Hopefully you will not have to get a laywer involved.
  23. Well I don't really have anything to go on as far as talking to the dealer that left the open ticket. They are now shut down. But I do have the physical paperwork for the visits with two different dates and same mileage. So if it becomes an issue I have proof. I called the dealer yesterday and they say they are waiting on one more part. Should be in this week. Today makes it day 29 at the shop. And the lousy dealer gave me a LOUSY 99 Ford Crown Vic(Old cop car- you can see the faded Police sticker when the sun is just right). When it first went in the Chrysler rep was there to work on it. From what the Service manager has told me is they found 3 pinholes in the drainage tray and replaced it with a new one. Drain tube on the driver side has a hole in it. There is no drainage tray for the rear of the sunroof. It was supposed to have one. Which I told them numerous times. For the test they said a water hose will be running over the sunroof for an entire day to ensure that water does not end up where it is not supposed to be. What a load of crap. But that is Dodge's official test. When I first get it back I will be running it through the auto car wash and see what happens. I like to keep my rides clean and you better bet I am not going to stand outside in the cold this winter to wash my car. The auto car wash is one of my best friends in the winter LOL. If it leaks like in the videos above my laywer will be getting a call from me. Plus I told the dealer this is your last chance. Any further action will be from my laywer. Yes the drainage is messed up. Just don't put a band-aid on it that will fail eventually. The real issue is water getting through the seal! Fix the leak! I can't seem to get that into there heads.
  24. I saw mine in the shop with the headliner out and it did not appear to have any extra padding. I believe there was some give to the headliner, but not sure on it. Mine is in the shop right now. Or else I would go check mine again. Options for mine is sunroof, DVD and rear HVAC that would affect the headliner. Could be they forgot to put in a fastener. When I had my first headliner replaced they messed up the the fastener and did not fully seat the headliner in. Which caused a lot more movement and it would squeak too. So if you don't have the squeak, I would guess it is missing a fastener.
  25. Not sure if I would go as far as getting cross-drilled and slotted. But then again they look great on a vehicle. Proabably gonna need that extra whoa power after the twins get put on I wish I could put twins on but the check book is a little light these days. One thing Dodge did do is replaced the SRT Charger front disk to slotted rotors because of brake issues. I don't see them doing it for the Journey. They would have done it by now. Betcha the bean counters got involved with this. Just guessing, I would say most of the brake issues are past the warranty period and the cost to upgrade them is more than what they are paying for warranty issues.
