Your dealer sounds a lot like mine. I just picked it up from the shop to have a squeaky headliner fixed. I had a new headliner put in and they must have messed up on the install. You could press on the headliner with your hand and make it squeak. So the first time I go to pick it up the first thing I checked was the headliner with my hand. Still makes noise. Went right back in to tell him that you did not fix the headliner. I took the asst manager out to the car and showed him. Still don't know how they could miss that. The second time the car was in they did fix the headliner. I also had them look at the roof rack rails. The back ones are too close together. So when you slide the crossbars to the very back it put a good bit of tension on the rails. The rails have spread apart a little bit. Picked the car up and the asst manager again told me the roof rails were fine and the tech looked at the other Journey's and said it looked the same. I went and found the manager. Who by the way knows how to deal with customers. Very good customer service. First thing I told him was I don't appreciate being lied to and explained my problem. He agreed with me 100%. With the roof rails being messed up I don't see a fix for it and the manager was stumped too. But he was willing to drop the car off at a body shop to see if anything would be done.

LOL that's funny I had the power steering thing done. But I did not have the noise issue. But after the repair I swear it has made a different noise at least two times. Maybe I am just getting paranoid. I was told by a dodge service guy that the power steering thing should be done before any problem can occur. They are supposed to do that kind of stuff if you car is in the shop for other things. The idea is to replace the problematic parts before the customer has a chance to report it. I can't remember what the term was called. I know it wasn't TSB, it was called something else. There was also something about the brake sensor that the dealer did too. Some people have had issues with this too.

I see you got it figured out. I also use photobucket for my pics.

I know what you mean. I have a few wrinkles in mine that I am trying to get ironed out too.

If your pads are in good shape. Lots of pad material left. You could clean your brakes yourself. It is real easy. No tools are involved. Just a little bit of driving time. Read the link below. The procedure is for new pads or disc. But if yours are squeaky this should stop the noise too and save you a trip to the stealership. http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm

I remember reading a few members having this problem. Mine has done it one time shortly after I bought mine. I think the fix was a new key fob. Might have to do a little research on the site. The search feature does not seem to work very well.

Another rumor I heard was that Chrysler is trying to sell off the Viper. And right now there sales are up 74%! That makes sense...................not. Yeah lets sell off part of our company that is making a profit right now

TPMS - Displaying PSI for all tires?
wyoram replied to lrfreelanderhse's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I remember reading something like that too. I think Dodge just messed up in the printing of the manuals or decided not to put the extra feature in. I had a Toyota pick-up and it did not even have the wiring for the low fuel light in it. Mine was probably just a fluke. Our problem seems to be fleet wide. -
Welcome to the club I don't know of any upgrades for the MyGIG. Maybe others can chime in on where to find out if there are any updates. I just had some work done on mine recently and they did a navigation update. But I don't know when that upgrade was made available.

I wonder if it will still play on the screen in the dash? Anyone try this out yet? -
Pretty much the same here for my first two oil changes for the mileage.

I like it. Such a little mod that can make a big difference in appearance!

The first thing that I noticed or was brought to my attention through this site was when you are driving around 50-55 mph the rpm jump around a lot. From what I understand it is the torque converter locking and unlocking. You will be driving along and when you give it the slightest gas input the rpms jump up and when you let off the gas it will go back down. Almost seemes like it is hunting for which gear to be in. While driving normal the shifts feel like they are slipping and delayed. During the shift the rpms come up slightly and you can feel the forward progress slow down. Then it will shift. Feels like when you accidently bump the shift lever into nuetral while it is drive, but not as bad. Driving with a lead foot it does shift good. Quick firm shifts. How it should be all the time. These issues seem to considered normal to Dodge. According to members that have brought their vehicles into have these issues resolved. And no one has a fix for it yet. Not all the Journey's seem to be doing this. These issues above will cause the unessesary heat build up(torque converter locking and unlocking, slipping between shifts). Excessive heat is the number 1 enemy of automatic transmissions failures.

TPMS - Displaying PSI for all tires?

I am not 100% sure but I am guessing Electronic Vehicle Information Center Or something along those lines. -
Welcome to the Club. I bet Friday can not come soon enough! The AWD handles pretty good in the snow. It did for me anyways.

Photobucket.com can host your pics. Then all you have to do is copy and paste into your post. It is the bottom thingy you want to copy. That is what I use.

I would take it to a bodyshop first before trying the touch up paint. They might be able to buff out the scratch and would look good as new. My expierence with touch up paint is you can tell it has been done. I have not tried this method yet for touch up paint. It sounds like it would work the best. 1. First clean area. No brainer there. 2. Apply touch up paint as directed on instructions. 3. Let it start to set up. Maybe 15-30 minutes. 4. Use a clean rag(my preference Micro fiber) put some paint thinner on it and wipe off the excess paint. 5. Repeat above steps until you have the paint built up enough and is level with the original paint. What it is supposed to do is avoid having that bump of paint left on your car. When you wipe off the first coat you will probably still be able to see the primer. After a few applications it will get better. Another method my body shop told me to do was to apply the touch up paint and build it up a little higher than the factory paint. You will have a little bump. Then take it to the body shop and they can polish down the excess paint and should look good. I did this method and the results were not what I was hoping for. The problem with this approach is the clear coat on my truck was super thin. As soon as they tried to polish out the bump it burned through the clear coat. The factory clear coat is usually pretty thin compared to what a body shop would apply. They ended up respraying the front fender with some left over paint they had after they painted my front bumper. Just another option to think about. These are just my suggestions. Do what you want with them. Good luck on the repair.

I think the tranny is crap too.

The tech I talked to said he is working on a gold one. From what I can gather you might have a lemon. Sounds like the higher ups are calling the shots now. Hope they do you right and not drag this thing out.
