I have a dashcam. Make sure to get one that good night vision. Many cheap dashcams don't take good footage when the light is low.

Not many dash cams have motion detection activated recording. The one I use doesn't - it has the theoretical ability, given the 3 axis G sensor. But it's not been implemented in mine.
But for me the limiting factor is image quality; if I can't read the license plate on playback the thing is just a toy - and even if the device has a high res sensor, if the lens sucks (and most of them do) then you won't be able to read the plate number . . . . .

I use a gopro. While being a small camera, it sticks up on the dash quite a bit.

Hey guys! LED fog lights seem to come up on the forum quite a bit, and I am in the market to buy some, so I thought I'd check with The Retrofit Source to see if we could put together a group buy on their Morimoto XB LED fogs. These aren't cheap LED bulbs to put into your housing, it is a completely separate Dodge specific housing outfitted with authentic Phillips Luxeon LED bulbs that produce 1200 lumens per side (2400 lumens total!). The LEDs are projector style and provide a wide, saturated flood light with a sharp cutoff that blows the OEM "lights" out of the water.
    Group Buy Details:
    Full price - $170 10 pairs = 10% discount - $153 15 pairs = 15% discount - $145 20 pairs = 20% discount - $136 25 pairs = 25% discount - $128 Product details: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/complete-headlight-fog-light-housings/morimoto-xb-led-fog-lights-dodge.html#.VmIFJrgrK00
I have no affiliation with this company beyond being a happy customer, I'm simply looking for a deal on some amazing projector LED fog lights.
For more details about timing and such, private message me and I will answer your questions.
Fingers crossed their are others who want a set!

There are pics on HIDPlanet.com... Looks legit. IMO they are more or less the same as the Mini D2S, but with the benefits of the mini H1.

My 300M is going quad using FX-Rs and E46-Rs. The hard part is getting all four projectors to line up right. The key though is to use pairs of projectors that correct for the other pairs inadequacies. IE, have a set that is wide, but not necessarily good for throw, and a second set that covers the throw. It's also good to have them use the same type of bulb, so if a bulb goes out in the primary set, you can pull one from the secondary set to quickly get back on the road with good light.
It's even nicer if both sets are bi-xenon. Then you can call up your best Picard voice and shout SHIELDS when you flip on the high beams. Caution: Passengers may be startled the first time. Annoyed every time thereafter...

I have a shopping cart ready to go with FX-Rs and E46-Rs for my Special. I'm considering adding the MH1 7.0s for my Journey... 25% off FTW. But, I'm having a hard time finding TYC headlights for not-obscene prices... Perhaps I'll have to wait for the cable guy to switch my service tomorrow and look from my desktop. Could swear I've seen them for decent prices before... For less than $200/pair.

Sweet. Ya the wife hates when I mod her vehicles. But I love it. Usually I only do lighting on her vehicle. But I actually drive the journey quite a bit. So trying to make it unique.

Meh, this will probably be the last of mods for this. Saving up for the GT turbos and fox 2.5 suspension for my truck. Working on vehicles are a passion. Now that my 71 mustang is almost done I'm onto new projects.

I've got other paid for vehicles I'm modding. I can't get enough of modding. The DJ is the wife's car and she does not have the bug yet. I spend my money modding wise of my other vehicles.

I've done 3 mh1's and 1 d2s. As you seen in the other thread I was going to do d2s 55w until TRS told me it could handle 55w. It's a no brainer to me for the ease of install.
I just hope they don't take forever to put it on their website. I was going to order for their Black Friday sale.

^ This. $170 is pretty cheap for quality like that. I paid $350 each for my JW speaker lights I retrofitted into the fogs in my F150 before anyone had fogs for them. Having the bright LED's with a cutoff like the JW speakers or Morimito make it for a nice light, and you don't blind oncoming traffic. Plus the fogs are blacked out then which looks pretty sweet.

No no no. Do not put led bulbs.in or those yellow bulbs. Go to the retrofit source and buy what I bought. Led projector fogs. U wanna be amazed!? Little expensive but its worth if my friend.

    Thanks guys.
I already have a Hanning LED Pro Series 20" light bar coming with 2 relays. Why the two relays? Because I like to have my light bars only activated by the highbeams. Of course there is an off option for when on the highway, but that way if someone meets us on the back roads only one switch is needed to turn off the bars and high beams. Only way I could figure out how to make this work with the highbeams as DRL is to have 2 relays. One connected to the lows and one to the highs. So when the lows are off (drl) the bar will not come on with the drl. But when the lows are on and then the highs are activated the bar will get its power.
Living in Northern Alberta and having family in Northern Saskatchewan, we travel a lot of back roads.
I will do a write up in the off-road lighting section when it is done.

Hello, I know I've already posted a couple times but officially picked up the Journey today. Lighting mods are already being ordered. It will be a slow build, but I look forward to see what all I can do to make this dodge our own.
It is a 15 Crossroads AWD.
The wife seems pretty pumped with it.

Lol, been there done that in my teens. Won't do it on a family vehicle. Plus you want shocks valved for the springs.
May need to look into custom, but guessing it isn't worth it at that point.

If they are before and after shots (and I suspect they are not) it is NOT good - you would blind all oncoming traffic with that pattern.

On the other hand, if they are indeed low/high HID images, then that low beam pattern is awesome!!.

Nope. Unless you are below the cutoff line on projectors you can look directly at them with zero blinding. Your TL's were one of the best projectors available (IMO) and anyone who complained about being blinded was clearly high as a kite or an old bag ready to complain about anything. I agree, do what you want with your vehicle, but it doesn't change the facts...in a halogen housing HID's send light EVERYWHERE, the beam pattern is unfocused and scattered and the light output is horseshit compared to the proper installation using a projector designed for those bulbs. It is just a fact and sharing that information with people is exactly what forums like this are for...education. Anyone who has had a proper HID setup would never be able to go to a plug and play as the difference is just too great. Once again, I agree that we all have different tastes and that people should be proud of what they have done with their vehicles if it makes them happy. That beings said, pride doesn't mean that you have done something correctly. I won't bag on people for their choices, but I will share knowledge and hopefully every once in a while someone learns something from me and increases their knowledge base and satisfaction with their vehicle.
