  1. Are you talking about a bump when coming to a slow stop , or just rolling slowly .. Car is shifting down from second to first and it's a hard shift some times.
  2. You would think by now car makers would build a access to the fuel pump ...
  3. Mine rattle , I think it's the baffle for lack of a better word between the liner and the door , it's not really secure so ove certain roads I can hear a rattle from the fender . I thought of doing the same thing and either spray bed liner or use some other sound dreading material in there .
  4. Ef4 on December 26th , garland Texas , next morning it snowed
  5. At least it's not like the old fuses , fuse blows so just wrap the fuse in foil....then wonder why the wiring starts melting .... Never ever put a bigger fuse in ...in fact the safest way to figure out is put a lower fuse rating as you keep replacing fuses.. Something in that DVD player is causing problems
  6. Mine gets 29 -32 . My biggest drive is once a week 51 miles each to go go bowling (Texas is big and nothing is close by) 75 to 70 mph the whole way via interstate and toll roads....my only complaint is the truck really seems to be affect by the the big rigs , I get quite a bit of buffeting when behind them . Around town short trips get 24 to 27 . Impressed with the mileage . My girl friend has a GMC Terrain same basic engine and it gets 23 at best . Not a smooth shifter either Mine you can hardly tell its shifts unless you are watching the tach, the only time I feel it shift is coming to a stop and it drops down in to first ....
  7. it was a local Chevy dealer and I could tell the brakes where not touched. Front drivers side was missing caliper slides clips which caused that side to lock up . Rotors where beyond service life too. I did not press the issue because I went with aftermarket rotors and pads . They more or less claimed a lot more was done to the truck than they did before they sold it.
  8. Even major dealers are a little shaky . The 2009 I bought from supposly had a safety inspection done , new tires , four wheel alignment , new brakes on all four wheels and oil change . Was told the last owner had all this done and while waiting to pick it up decided to trade. Bottom line , it did have new tires and maybe a alignment , but I had to do a brake job right away and replace the battery and the oil was in need of a change. It's always a gamble , car fax show no problems with the car but after a bit the paint on the hood started to fade fast after a couple of washes and I could see where it had been in somebody's shop to repair hail damage . Not a big deal I like the car but feel like the wool had been pulled over my eyes a bit with the paint. Wonder what they used to make it look so good for 3 months
  9. I find this strange , the first thing I would have done is to contact my insurance company . New car or sometimes you hit things (same reason you buy the road hazard warranty on tires ) . Never ever heard of a gas tank just popping open , a lot of testing goes in to gas tanks . The polyvinyl tanks are pretty tuff so you must have hit something with out knowing it . gas gauge problem is most likely just a loose wire (happens). Just figure avg 20mpg and watch your odometer till you can bring it in . If I was driving and heard a loud pop , com mom sense would tell me to pull over and see what caused it .
  10. Switch to aftermarket good quality pads and rotors and you will have less problems.
  11. That's strange , I was thinking the same thing , the insides reminds me a lot of my old Plymouth tourismo . Same color too so it's kind of comfy
  12. Normal for this car and transmission , mine does it too. A rolling stop or just idling along in a parking lot makes it worse when it goes in to first gear.
  13. Mine runs 45 a month with a 250 deductible and 100 comprehensive through State Farm
  14. Glad I live where don't have to worry about winter tires
  15. Do the brakes and get a good set of pads and rotors ...
  16. You have to look at this way , if it's a 2009 most likely all the problems have been worked out . Brakes are a non issue they wear out and if you replace them with quality after market ones the will last. Down here we don't have to deal with rust . My 2009 se is at 130,000 miles and rides like a new truck. I see lots of journeys running around and I really like the looks of the 2009 model year. I would not pay to much attention to the complaint web sites , look up any model year of car on those sites and you will see every year make and model of car has problems When I picked mine up it had 124,000 miles and the dealer had supposly done a full service on it . I ended up replacing the battery , front pads and rotors and also new plugs . Need to take it in for the key fob recall but all others have been done. I would check to see if the recalls have been done , get a complete brake job and drive the thing .
  17. That's a lot to say is wrong with out doing a tear down . You would have noticed a lot of steam if it got hot enough to do all that . Get another mechanic.. A lot to go wrong at the same time also . I have termostats cause a over heat but you cap should have blown off pressure . Surprised he did not say the water pump was bad also... Raditor is a easy fix along with the tank . Replace that and the termostat
  18. That baby had to have gotten very hot , with lots of steam blowing out...never heard of Pistons warping ...heads yes . I would check with another mechanic . . How do you know if the head is warped
  19. Not a problem but wondering if anyone else has noticed this . I can be at just under 1/4 tank of gas , low fuel warning has not came on yet . If I don't fill up completely and just put in say about 13 gals of gas the fuel gage will go all the way to the full mark and then return to just under full after I drive about 5 miles. Gauge always seems to read a little higher when I gas up but returns to a lower level once I get moving again . 2009 se
  20. Have the same engine in my 2009. @130,000 miles and she still runs and rides like new . Very comfortable ride and the little 2.4 just purrs away . Getting around 26 avg combined miles , I live out in the sticks so most of my trips even to a grocery store is 15 miles of open road. Very impressed with this little suv and the 2.4 world engine.
  21. That's kind of strange. Are you sure it's not the service advisor or his mechanics that wrote that on the wheel..... Or in a past wheel rotation or tire change ... I would go back to the last person to service the wheels or tires
