BrianS got a reaction from rolly in Hi Everyone. New to the Forum and considering the 2015 Dodge Journey. Advice?
Well, I have to throw my hat in the ring as another very pleased Journey owner. Mind you, I've only had it about 6 weeks atm, so maybe my opinion will change as time goes on.
2015 Dodge Journey Limited. V6 comes standard in the Limited, (would NEVER consider a 4cyl in a vehicle this of this size) Here in the Great White North, the 3rd row seating is also standard on all DJ's now. For my particular needs, the 3rd row was set up once at the dealership, and will probably never be set up again, but that's just me... have no need for 7 passenger seating anymore. Altho, the rear heat/ac has come in handy already, As for fuel economy, I'm getting about 26mpg to the US gallon.

Really? Art? What, the front cover from the cd? I didn't think it would display graphics on the screen while driving. I've stayed away from Apple products, always felt they were too proprietary.

I have seen this first hand as I work for FCA. Several years of neglect and maximizing profit by "other" owners led to a serious decline in quality. I'm very happy with the direction Fiat has taken with Chrysler.. quality has improved immensely since Fiat has taken over.

Chrysler cut quite a few corners across all vehicles up through the 2010 model year. Vehicles manufactured after 2011 (or had mid-generation refresh in 2011 or later) have been of MUCH higher quality. Compare the inside of a 2009/2010 Journey with a 2015. Compare the engine offerings for the Grand Caravan/Town and Country from 2008-2010 with 2011 and later.
Fiat, and the lead up to the takeover, has been VERY good for Chrysler. It should have happened without the cash of the US federal government, but that's a discussion for another day.

I will be considering Pirelli when the time comes to replace. A long time in the future atm, only have a bit over 1000km(620miles). Put them on my wifes Nitro and absolutely love them!! Very quiet, good traction and ride.
Don't put too much blame Kuhmo. Yes, they are the tire manufacturer, but Chrysler probably said "look, we want to buy a gazillion tires from you, but we don't want to pay very much for them." Most business would try to find a way to make that work somehow. In this case, they cut costs by shortening the life of the tire.

Not all auto parts stores are that smart. I had to buy some for my '01 Grand Caravan. "These are the right ones" says them... "No, I think mine are smaller" says I. Next time I took a sample with me...

Automobiles use humidity sensors as part of their defogging or defrosting systems. Lots of different vehicles use them.

This^^, it assists the HVAC system in keeping humidity levels low in the cabin. This is why sometimes the AC compressor will run even though you are not in the AC or defrost mode.

And, of course, that is to the Imperial gallon and not the US gallon. About a quart or so bigger I think.

Yes, 2nd time in for the sunroof. It only leaks when I take it thru a car wash and the hi-pressure water hits the roof. And, it's not a flood, but even a few drops is a few drops too many. This time they "adjusted the rear weatherstripping" on it. Of course, since the DJ was just as dirty when I picked it up as when I dropped it off, I'm sure there was NO testing done on it to see if their repair was successful or not. I guess they leave the testing to me.

Yes, pics are no problem. If I don't put one up next week, please feel free to remind me.
Yes, I remember you having back issues for a while but didn't realize just how long it had been.
The blue does have some metallic in it I believe. FCA really needs to adjust their colour choices IMHO. 2 blues, a red, a black, and 2 greys. Pretty plain and unexciting in my opinion. Funny how now that we have a Nitro, we see them all over the place. I remember my wife saying that she didn't see any so they couldn't be that popular... now we see them all over the place. Sure hop the DJ gets better fuel economy!!

Ok, picked it up this afternoon. So far, so good. Needs to go back for a final buffing... apparently that's only done on Tuesdays at this dealership so I will be back there tomorrow. I should have taken pics of it before I left the dealership with it... went home "the long way" and got caught in a torrential downpour so the DJ is filthy right now. But, it's all good... the wipers work and the sunroof doesn't leak.
Now I just have to put all my junk back in it... amazing how much storage there was in the Grand Caravan.... don't think it's all going to fit in the DJ.

You could use Acetone, but make sure you are outside. You will get high as a kite from the fumes: you will completely forget what you are even doing!

I'm not sure that ANY dealership would take a brand new car home. Used vehicles, certainly... mileage isn't that critical on them. I'm going to be paying close attention to the mileage on the one that they replaced the original one with. To be sure, I'm getting some free extras, but I just hate the feeling that I'm being lied to. Oh well, I'm sure I will get over it.

Nope, Nitro is SWMBO's and she absolutely loves it.. She, like you, has back issues but she still finds the Nitro to be very comfortable to drive. Until she can no longer drive it, it stays.
Sorry to hear you have ongoing issues with your back. I'd have to retire if that was the case with me, can't be bouncing around in a truck with back problems like that.
Darn nice colour on your DJ. And, NO, it's not available for 2015. Too bad, because that would be my colour of choice. Mine will be Phantom Blue Pearl, which is a dark blue, almost the "Patriot Blue" that was offered on 4th gen minivans. It's a LIMITED model, with a few toys thrown in for free as the dealership messed up. It's OK, free stuff is always good.

A great tribute to your wife Dave. Many of us have great difficulty expressing our feelings towards a loss and I too have done this on another forum after losing both my parents in a two year period.
The support I received there was unreal. In my opinion if anyone on the forum takes offense they don't belong here.
Thank you for reminding us what life is about.

    BrianS,
    Welcome to the forum!
Id' recommend visiting one of the local dealers here in the Windsor area and test drive a new Journey.
This way you'll be able to test a few out and see what your needs may be as far as accessories and options go.
Good luck with your search !!!
