  1. Check out tirerack.com . I got my rims from there.
  2. Just make sure you use high temp paint. Show us some pics when your done.
  3. I finally got around to checking out some of the other stores. I went to Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, and Pepboys. Advance and Pepboys did not have any that would fit, but Autozone had one that might fit. The inlet was 3.5/outlet was 4 inches and that might be a problem. I did not have any way to test one so it is hard to say if it would fit. The dealer still may be the best option right now.
  4. DJService, are you from/work for Chrysler? (if so, it is nice to know you read the boards) :D
  5. Go to the places where you got your oil changed and they SHOULD have all your car information. Where I get my oil changed (not the dealer) keeps a record of my car and what I had done to it plus they email me a copy of all the receiptes. Who ever did your maintance should have a record. I would think that the place that did your maintance would like to hear what they are saying because the dealer is pretty much blaming them for shotty work. As long as you never did anything yourself, I would think you will be alright. Hope it works out.
  6. "I have a 2009 journey that I just purchased with a certified warranty susposedly. Well now they tell me no warranty" Do you mean that is not covered or there is no warranty now? Does your paper work say something like that would be covered? Did you try a different dealer? Sorry to hear that. If you do end up buying one, there is one on ebay for $82 with a best offer option. Give a offer for $50, you might win it for that price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2009-DODGE-JOURNEY-MASTER-DOOR-WINDOW-SWITCH-SWITCHES-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem19bf0e604bQQitemZ110579572811QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  7. "Ok, I do all my own maintenance, even if it is an engine or tranny rebuild." Was the car new? What size engine was it? How many miles did it have on it? When you say bad, do you mean the engine block and all is no good now? Did they even look at it and say what was wrong or what caused it?
  8. Yeah, mine is 2.25 . I went there looking for a 3 inch but decided to measure it while I was in the store just in case. I never finished looking for a 3 inch so I'm not sure if they have one or not. They did have some that was pretty big. If I go there in the near future I'll take a look. Pepboys deals more with bigger engines. They may have one.
  9. I got this one from Autozone, $14.99. It has a metal drilled mesh on the inside. It looks pretty good.
  10. A lot of us thought about that too, but the main question is will the new bulb melt/damage the lens. None of us tried it because of that. Most of us just went with HIDs instead. HIDs is the best way to go because after you buy everything you need for higher wattage bulbs, you could have just bought a set of HIDs and they will last for the life of the car.
  11. Sorry to hear about all your problems with the brakes. A lot of us on here have dealt with the brake problem, and your right, it is a problem. This might be a little too late, but don't have the dealer deal with your brake problems unless it is under warrenty. If they say it is not covered, take it to a third party to have your brakes done (everytime). What is happening is the dealer is changing and fixing your brakes, but they are using the same stuff that comes on a new journey(which caused the problem in the first place), so you are having the same problem over and over and over again. First thing, are you under 36,000? if yes, you can try and reason with them about it. That has work for a few people on here and it got their brakes fixed for free, but it does depend on the dealership. Can you go to a different dealership? Are you having any other problems with the car? If everything I asked above is "No", then you need to go and have your brakes changed at a auto shop (not a dealer!). If you know somebody who is good with cars, have them do it for you. You need to put on ceramic brake pads. They cost a little more, but it will solve most (if not all) your brake problems (assuming you rotors are in good/great condition). I have ceramics on mine now with the original rotors and no problems at all. You are NOT crazy. They are wrong. It is a problem. (more so, what they are putting ON the journey is the problem)
  12. In the first slideslide show, the black one was $17, the gray/black one was $20. In the second slideshow, the chrome and brown one was $14. Some are cheaper, that is just the ones I picked. There is some pretty cool ones on amazon if you don't mind waiting for it. Just remember our shaft size is about 8mm.
  13. I decided to switch knobs. This one has a better look. It is two tone, chrome and light brown. It is hard to see the light brown in the pics. It will NOT fit our stick shifter, so I did a mod to make it fit. It worked out well:
  14. Thanks to "its2easy" and "Germax", they told me how to remove the shifter knob. All you have to do is pull up, and it comes right off! It was a little scary how easy it came off. You can see their post here: Ok, when you buy a new shifter knob, make sure in will fit 8mm to 15mm. The lower number is what is important. Our "stick" is about 8mm. All the shifter knobs have big holes, but they come with adapters so it will fit our stick. I tried out two different knobs. One is black and chrome and the other was gray/black(two tone) and chrome. I ended up going with the gray/black one. It looked less like a factory knob and it matched well. The black one was nice, but it blended in too well. It was easy to install. 3 set screws and that was really it. In the slideshow, the first pics is the metal rod with the knob removed (2 pics), the next pics is our factory knob(2 pics), then the black knob(2 pics), and then the grey/black knob(5 pics. This is the one I decided to keep) Oh yeah, I got the the black knob from Autozone, and the Gray/black one from Pepboys.
  15. Not me. How did it happen? Where you taking the wheel off? did you hit something?
  16. 2009s have a lifetime trans/powertrain warrenty. That is not covered? Yeah, we all talk about how brakes are a problem. I changed to ceramic brakes at 19,000 miles. Compaired to the rest of us, Getting 51,000 out of your brakes is great. I don't think anyone on here has gotten that many miles out of their brakes. Most people needed new brakes at 13,000 miles.
  17. It looks like my right rear wheel is starting to lean/tilt in-ward. it is hard to tell, but I think it is. I notice it a few weeks ago. Has any one else had this problem? Is it common? I have seen another Journey with the same problem almost a year ago, but I thought it was just their car. That journey rear wheel had almost a 20 degree tilt. It was really bad. Is this something we should watch out for? Thanks.
  18. I bought mine new and my temp gauge is just about in the middle. I would say yours is fine.
  19. When you open the hood, look left and right of the hood latch, you should see black button style pins. Use a screw driver to pull them out. Look in the wheel well and you will see some more. Remove them too if you need to. Once you do that, you can get behind the grill/bumper.
  20. I tried to remove the stick shifter knob. The middle chrome piece slides up. After that, I was stuck. There is no screws or anthing else hinting on what to do next. I even went to the deal and talked to the parts department. They pulled everything up on the computer, but they did not know what to do either. Any thoughts?
  21. I finally broke down and bought the chrome fuel door. I have to admit, it does add a nice touch to the Journey. It has a mirror finish. I have seen some of the fake covers, and they look like fake covers. They stick out, a lot. I almost went with one until I saw a few of them on some cars. I liked the mopar (real one) better.
  22. Can you post some pictures of the front of the car? Thanks.
  23. I did my brakes with the rented tool from Autozone. Worked great. You can buy the same one off ebay for around $15 bucks. FYI: Your really not renting the tool from Autozone, your buying it (security deposit) and then returning it to get all your money back. Pretty sweet deal!
