  1. I would go with a 235/50 R19. Decent tire selection. The height is approximately .4" shorter (which I think is an advantage because it will give you a little more clearance in the fenders). But the big factor is that the Journey's 19" rims are only 7" width. The 235/50 R19 recommended rim width is 6.5-7.5. Most 235/55 R19's recommended rim widths are 7-8 and I think turning clearance would be extremely close. Way too close.
  2. My 2009 SXT AWD has been great. 31,000 miles with no significant issues. It delivers excellent mileage and is great in the snow. I'd recommend it to anyone.
  3. My 2009 SXT AWD delivers excellent mileage 19-20 MPG City/ 24-26 MPG Highway
  4. If it's the factory 4 pin wiring harness you just need to remove the tail lights. They plug in between the tail light and the factory wiring and drop the cable down through the bottom through a rubber plug.
  5. I've been thinking about removing the mufflers and tips. Replacing them with this: Supertrapp
  6. I've searched through all the literature I could find and looked at the entire electrical fuse and relay box but nowhere can I find how many amps is the headlight relay (high and low beam). I want to upgrade to some higher wattage but I want to make sure the electrical can handle it. My thought is that since the Journey is configured for export to Europe, I'm hoping for a little more robust headlight relay than a US only model vehicle. After all, my ancient '92 Mazda MPV handles 80/100 H4's no problem.
  7. My Journey SXT AWD is awesome in the snow. I had no issues at all last winter and I drove through snow up to 1 feet deep with no issues. I would have your system checked.
  8. The video outputs are on the back of the reciever. You will have to remove the radio in order to install video monitors.
  9. I have over 18000 miles on my 2009 Journey AWD with the 19" rims and I haven't noticed any unusual wear on any of the tires.
  10. My 2009 Journey SXT AWD has over 14,000 miles with no problems. It runs great, delivering 23-25 MPG on the highway. It's been trouble free so far.
  11. Well, the guys at Autozone are a little off. On Journey's that were not equipped with the towing prep group, there is no wiring for a trailer and no external oil cooler. Journey's that have the towing prep group (external oil cooler) come with a 4 pin blade wiring kit but it is not installed and is in the storage area where the jack is. Dodge does offer a full 8 pin round trailer wiring kit but it involves running the wiring clear up to the engine compartment. Since the towing capacity of the Journey is 3500lbs, the need for wiring for trailer brakes is pretty rare. But there are a couple of people on this forum that do tow a pretty good size trailer.
  12. I haven't noticed any issues with the parking brake. I've used it on inclines a few times and haven't had any problems with it holding the vehicle.
  13. Well, I don't know about 75% but there have been quite a few owners with some significant complaints. I've had my Journey for 6 months and no complaints. It runs great, rides very good, is extremely quiet and I haven't had any engine, transmission, vibration issues whatsoever. I think one aspect of this forum like any other is that owners that are having problems seek more information and register on forums to discuss the issues. The large majority of owners who have no problems just putter along contently. So I think that although there seem to be some reoccurring problems, I think that we're not hearing from the majority of owners who haven't had any issues and haven't registered. Just my 2 cents.

    Gas mileage

I just got back from a 300 mile round trip with our 2009 SXT AWD to go grocery shopping (I know it sounds insane but it's 150 miles each way to the nearest large city with a Costco). Needless to say we don't go that often but I ended up with 25.4 MPG. Not too bad.
