  1. I ordered upper/lower grills from: grill4u.com BE WARNED: there is NO SIMPLE INSTALLATION!!!!!! You will have to cut away the plastic "grills" already inplace, as the grills are actually part of the 1-piece "facia" which goes from the bottom-front of the vehicle up to the very top edge under the actual hood. So, the grill areas have to be cut out, and the aluminum grills need to be placed in somehow. So, you will need a custom mod. No matter what the instructions say, and no matter what hardware they include which is supposed to make everything simple as 1.2.3., it isn't. You will need to custom mod-insert your grills or mesh. That being said, it looks great! :-)
  2. Splash guards add to the look, protect your vehicle. Splash guards catch the wind ESPECIALLY at the rear bumper. Had mine dealer instaled, and the mechanic even warned me that driving at higher speeds will cause the splash guards to catch wind and vibrate! Yes, it is true; above 60mph there is a problem; and sinc ethe rear bumper is already a wind sock, the problem increases.
  3. Who knows... I like my Journey so far; not a great car, but then again I did not want to pay the cost for a great car. Thought I was seeing Journey's all over the place until mine was delivered. Now I see the same 3 a few times per week and none others. So, looks like the Dodge Journey will be a bit more exclusive :-) Chances are, the Dodge Journey will be about as popular as the Chrysler paciffica, which more-or-less, the same car. Will be in prodiction about the same amount of time too... So, you have a good car, that not everyone else is driving; feel unique!
  4. The ECO mode appears when you select the compas/temperature display, ECO appears under those 2 when you are supposedly driving economically. ECO will NOT show if you are using the autostick or in any gear OTHER than "D" with the normal automatics. Thing is, you can drive more economically with the autostick in traffic, and on roads with hills and such; but ECO will not show when driving with the autostick.
  5. Hello. www.tirerack.com has some aftermarket suspension options for the Journey. I'm thinking aobut it myself as speed bumps are a nightmare in my area and the Journey bottoms out fast on speed bumps.
  6. Well, the owner's manual reccommends 2 things: 1) Driving slower. 2) Avoid the following blower settings as they WILL turn on the AC to dry the air EVEN if you have the temp. set to a warm setting: Auto temp. control, front defroster, feet, or any combination of those. Dealer said the car's GVW is overweight at just about 2 tons (supposedly), ain't no way to get around hauling all that weight around and using up too much gas.... I get 14mpg in the city, and can get from 19-20 mpg on the highway; previously found that highway mileage is the same if i go 60-80mph on the autobahn. I'm starting to think that undercarriage wind resistance and the rear bumper play a big role in excessive wind resistance and consequential high fuel consumption.
  7. Hello. Anyone have a good source for exhaust pipe/muffler tips for the 3.5L engine exhaust? Found tips for others but not the 3.5L. Anyone???
  8. Yeah, replaced my wipers after 1 month. Rainx latitude did not fit onto the 2010 Journey. however, the Rainx weatherbeater DID fit! And at $8.00 each the weatherbeaters are a good deal and work mucu MUCH better than the MOPAR wipers.
  9. Well then, perhaps I'm not used to the quality of American made automobiles.
  10. 2010 RT. Purchased the splash guards from yahoo shopping.
  11. TURBULENCE!!! The rear bumper of the Journey scoops up soooooo much wind. That causes the rear bumper to shake and shimmy, which could be causing your problem, in addition to contributing to poor fuel economy and reduced road stability and handling. Get to someplace uncrowded, adjust your mirrors to angle down to your rear tires/mumper edges, drive at 65mph and glance at the mirrors; you will see the edges of the bumper flapiong like bird wings. If you happen to see a Journey passing you SAFELY and briefly glance at their rear bumper if you estimate their speeg to be >65mph, you will see their shameful rear bumper flapping and flopping. I found all of that out after having splash guards installed on my rear bumper by the dealer. Looks like our options are to lower the vehicle, mod the rear bumper, or do not drive >60mph... Dodge should recall the Journeys and apply a rear-bumper solution! Until then or otherwise we need to drive ,65mph.
  12. Added a metal/chrome fuel filler door; looks pretty nice. Will add chrome/shiny pillars and metal upper-lower grill next. Will post some ics in a month after blinging is completed.
  13. Hello everyone. I purchased front/back splash guards for my 2010 RT. Since I do not have a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts after removing the wheels, I deided to let the dealer install the splash guards. Front splash guards installed well. Rear splash guards, that's another story. Why? Problem 1. Ok, go to your rear bumber at the point where the wheel well meets the rear bumper. Now, using your index finger, pull up or outward on the rear bumper (do NOT pull hard enough to damage the rear bumpr).. See that? You can almost REMOVE the rear bumper with your index finger!! So we should know by now that snagging that rear bumper on anything is going to result in the loss of a rear bumper. Problem 2. Since the rear bumper is poorly secured, it can be pulled off and/or damaged easily, AND it also FLAPS and shimmies in the turbulence and catches air like a small parachute! After the splash guards were installed the mechanic did his best to explain to me that the splash guards WILL lead to the instabilty of the already unstable rear bumper, by catching even more wind. What could I do, but test it out. Hit 70mph on the read, aggled both side view mirrors down to see the rear splash guards, and marvelled at the lack of instability of the rear bumper ans the splash guards caught even more wind that the bumper alone. At 60mph, the shaking/shimmying of the splash guards stopped. Could there be more? Yes! There are quite a few Dodge Journeys in my neck of the woods, so I tailed behind 3 of them (all without splash guards) and was apalled to see that the rear bumpers are shaking from turbulance as they scoop up huge amounts of air at any speed >70mph (I live somewhere where speeds are allowed in excess of 65 mph). Verdict: The rear bumper on the Journey is a P.O.S., poorly secured, significantly increasing wind resistance, significantly contributing to poor fuel economy. Add splash guards to the rear, and you had better keep your speed under 60mpf for fear of your rear bumper being torn off by the turbulence created by the rear bumper. What to do: lower the vehicle, streamline the rear bumper (custom), and secure the rear bumper (custom). Anyhoo, the splash guards look nice. I won't be keeping uo with any other Dodge Journey's on the Autobahn though... Atavio Well, some of us like splash guards to protect our vehicles. If you drive >60mph
  14. Hello. I tried the Rain-X Lattitudes, which are supposed to fit the 2009 and 2010 Journeys; I have a 2010. Wioers did fit, but could not "snap" into place. So, no-go on the Rain-x wipers

Thanks for the reply DP. Yes, all lights activate to indicate airflow selection for panel, feet, windshield, but the air only bolws at the windshield. Guess I'll have to takt it to the shop... ... ...
