  1. Added embroidered racing flags to the front headrests. I was going to go with the Dodge ram head logo, but I figured that would be too much "Dodge" on the car. It looks really nice when you are walking past.
  2. Sorry, but you may have to take it to the dealer. That problem sounds pretty dangerous. If you find a solution, let us all know what it was.
  3. 55 watt HIDs will be way to bright. 35 watts will be more than enough. That is one of the best things about them, less power, more light.
  4. I was very suprised how good they sound being set up this way.
  5. After seeing the video, I have mixed feelings. There are some things I like and some things i don't like.... ________________ I like the new driver information cluster I like that the radio is higher up I like the new engine ____________________ I miss the two tone seats and doors (unless it is just not shown on that model. However, I would think they are showing us the best it can get) I don't like that you don't have the extra dashboard storage The outside front and rear of it dosen't have the same sleek/smooth styling (in my opinion). The front has a GMC "Acadia" feel to it now that I don't like. The front end of the Journey (and almost every car) is made of plastic. To me, the 2011 LOOKS like it is made of plastic. The 2009/10 not so much. Don't get me wrong, it is nice. I would still buy one. I just like the 09/10 better if I had the choice.
  6. It is easy. What they said is spot on. You will need two screw drivers to remove the fasteners. I found that works best. BE CAREFULL! !! If you damage the fasteners, the dealer charges $20 for 5 (yes, you read right). All the car places I checked don't have our fasteners to replace them (autozone, advance auto parts, etc). I checked because at one point I needed a replacement and found out all this out.
  7. Only the infinity upgrade has the sub. The opening is there, but there is no sub. Check the other threads in the fourms. Some one else was trying to do the same thing. If I remember right, he gathered all the info he needed, but I'm not sure if he actually did it. Wait, I remeber some of it now. One guy tried to have the dealer do the upgrade with the factory amp and sub. The problem he ran into was his factory radio did not have the proper connections for the amp. So going that route turned out to be a dead end. I'm not sure if he/they solved the problem or not. It is in the threads somewhere.
  8. If you go to best buy or someplace like that, it should run you about $700 installed (depending on what screen size you choose). I had one installed in my wifes car. it is not a journey, but the price was a standard install for any car. She has rear climate controls in her ceilling too.
  9. Is it a 2010 or 2011 Journey?
  10. It is hard to say. There are so many brands out there. Just look for one with a 4 year or more warrenty. Lifetime would be best.
  11. I installed two 10 inch subwoofer in the cargo area of my journey. They sound great. The speakers I choose (ROCKFORD FOSGATE R1S410) are made for sealed inclosures, and that works best for the cargo area which is sealed (no air circulation). I was suprised to see that the trunk cover is made up of different materials on the inside. The cool thing about the speakers being installed this way, you still have full use of your trunk space with little to no bass loss. For deeper/better bass response, I added speaker insulation (quilt batting works great). It cleans up the bass and you can add more or less to get the bass range you want to hear and feel. I took as many pics as I could. Update: I need to get a higher wattage amp because after doing all the math, the amp I bought is putting out 60 watt per channel (but it says 350 watts, why?) . The stock system is putting out around 60 watts also, so it is hard to tell what is the stock system and what is the subs. Once the new amp gets here, I will test it all again. Latest Update: I installed the new amp, and all I can say is WOW!!! Installing the speakers in the trunk is the best way to go. These things sound great. I included a picture of the new amp I bought in the slide show. It is pushing a true 200 watts bridged. I have the speakers wired in series, so each speaker is seeing/using 100 watts each. I wired it this way because for some reason with most amps, when wired as regular two channel setup, you can't use the LFE (Low-frequency effect) fuction. Anyway, they sounds great. If you need your trunk space but want some extra thump in the trunk, install your speakers this way. Enjoy!
  12. Do it yourself. If the caliper is fine, buy some new pads (if you need some) and switch them out. If the pads are worn, I would just change both sides (left and right side). Inspect the rotor and see if it needs to be turned. Since you can see it, you would have to judge it. The rest of this does not matter much but...... That was not covered under warrenty? Even if they were not sure it was a warrenty issue, how can they charge you for making sure it was not a warrenty issue? You thought something was wrong with the caliper (warrenty issue) and they determined it was not. That should have been the end of it. If the car is under warrenty, they should not charge you to look at anything. Just a thought.
  13. I checked my air filter this weekend and it was dirty. Instead of going with the stock filter I decided to swap it out for a better one. Like everyone else, I had to mod it a little, but it all worked out fine. Of course, the real question is, is it a worth while upgrade for the smaller engine? Well, it does have a smoother take off, throttle response is better (when you push the gas, it responds faster), it feels like the engine is not working as hard to move, I get better gas mileage but only time will tell how much better, and it makes the engine sound deeper around 2nd/3rd gear. I would not say the upgrade is a must, but if you like messing with your car and/or you want better gas mileage, it might be worth it. Oh yeah, in the pics, I put a screen under the filter because the air flow is still travelling through there and when I changed the air filter there was some large debris in there (small leaves, helicopter seeds, etc....I have no idea how they got in there). Anyway, if you go with this upgrade, this is something to keep in mind.
  14. I agree with Germax. If you can afford to wait, wait. The dash in new one is sweet.
  15. I decided to paint my muffler too. It was hard painting the top of the muffler without talking the wheel off. (you can see the top of the mufflers in the rear wheelwells, so you have to paint the top of them) It turned out pretty good:
  16. Sweet interior!!! What is the price on it?
  17. I changed my own breaks on my journey and there was nothing to reset. Is it all the lights or just the 3rd break light? i'm sure it is a simple fix, but it is something the dealer will have to fix. You could take a look under your dash near the break padel and see if something is sticking.
  18. 127mm is the right size. make sure the offset is correct also. I believe it is 40mm or 35mm. If I remember right, both will work.
  19. When you say "back", you mean the area facing the front of the car? It is most likely from small rocks (and bugs) hitting that area when you drive. In the long run, it seems to happen to all cars with painted/color plastic side mirrors. At any rate, take it to the dealer and see what they say. They might fix it or they might claim what I said and not fix it. If they don't, I believe you can get the chorme or red covers off ebay for decent price. I can say from experience that touch up painting that area does not really work. It will look like someone took some finger nail polish and put spots on your car. Over time, those touched up spots will fade at a different rate than the original paint on your car.
  20. So after he came on here saying all those things about fixing your car, they are not going to fix it after all?! Quote: "Fortunately, just as it is in most cases, it worked out for the benfit of the customer." It sure does not sound like it did. There has to be MORE to this story. What exactly happened? Where/how did the talks breakdown? Was something found that proved it was owner error? Why exactly was it denied? So many questions.......I'm sure everyone is wonder the same thing.
