Brakes all the sudden go to the floor?? help?

Recommended Posts

So I ran my daughter to piano lessons and when we were done the kids were loading up and I started depressing the brake pedal, It made a swoosh sound and I did it a few more times waiting for it to firm up but didnt. When I started my car the brakes would brake but i had to keep pressing into to make it brake. After driving it from there to the stor and back home it now goes all the way to the floor before it brakes. I had no problems before I left for the piano lesson with it. Did me depressing the brake while the car was not running do something? Whats going on here. Its a 2013 Journey SXT with 38k miles.

What's the fluid level? You blew a caliper seal or something. You have the vehicle. Start checking for fluid leaks at each wheel and also the master cylinder. It would be helpful if you would state year, mileage, engine, etc.

As jkeaton stated, you are outside of the basic warranty from a mileage standpoint (3 years/36K), so unfortunately this will likely be out of pocket. Do you have anything setup at a dealership yet, Robert?
