Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and am a new owner of a 2011 silver R/T. I have had it about a week and am liking it more each time I drive it.
 
I have a question regarding the information center on the dash. I like keeping it where I can see the fuel economy. I noticed as I drive a red bar moves up and down showing my current mpg. I had the opportunity to drive a 2016 SXT and noticed that the fuel economy gauge looked exactly the same except for the red bar. In the 2016 it is multi colored. Red when you are below the average mpg, yellow when you are at the average and green when you are above. I really liked the multi color bar and was wondering if it is a simple mod to make the red bar in my 2011 into the multi color.
 
I know its a little thing, but I liked the look of the multi color style.

www.techauthority.com is the official source for FCA manuals and they haven't produced a printed service manual in years, though nothing stops you from buying the disc and printing it out yourself.

Does a PRINTED service manual for the 2014 Journey exist...???
I've been driving for over 50 years and have owned many vehicles in that time.
I do most of my own maintenance and the first thing I purchase is the Service Manual for the car.
I've had manuals from Chilton, Haynes, Chrysler etc.
Recently, I acquired a 2014 Journey SVT with the 3.6 engine and started searching for a service manual.
So far, no luck.  I've seen some info available on a CD or DVD, but I want a printed manual.
I have the usual Owner's Manuals that came with the car.  Now, I need the service manual.
 
Have they stopped printing manuals? Or is the car too new for the aftermarket printers to make one?
I'd appreciate any help If you can lead me to a source.

Agree with the above. Depends on how long you intend to keep it. Even a small things cost a lot of money on cars these days. It's generally frowned upon by some members here, but we purchased an aftermarket bumper to bumper warranty through CarMax on ours with a $100 deductible. I've dealt with them before and never had a problem getting repairs approved. I take it to my Dodge dealer and they honor the CarMax warranty. Can't go wrong with a manufacturer warranty though. I highly recommend it. First time your radio or nav craps out and you are out of warranty, you will wish you purchased one. You have to decide if it's worth it to you to pay now or pay later. If you plan on keeping the car, get the warranty.

http://www.chryslerfactoryplans.com/ check out this site for mopar warranty i got mine from them and was a lot better deal then froma local dfealer...  just plug in your info and you will get a quote right away... as always it depends on how long you plan on keeping your journey i plan to run the wheels off my 2014 so i bought the max unlimited miles and yrs plan with a $100 ded. and at 40k my oil sending unit went bad while out of town so went to a dodge dealer and they said yes i was covered so they gave me a free rental car and took about 4-5 later they called and said its fixed they said it would have cost about 450 -500 with the rental car without the warranty.glad i bought it. i paid about $2200 for my warranty..

I just purchased a 2014 Dodge Journey R/T that was certified used from the dealer. It has 23, 750 miles so it still has the basic warranty until November 2017 and powertrain warranty until August 2021.
 
However, the dealer offered my an extended warranty for 84 months/100,000 miles (Maximum Care Mopar Vehicle Protection). The cost is $1985. I have to pay this amount out of my own pocket so I'm trying to figure out if the cost will be worth it. Or would it be better just to save the $1985 and put in savings and use it if and when something happens.

I'll have to tear into the center console but I wonder if the harness is already there to service the 12v outlet?

I can "hide" posts but not delete them 

PO302 is a misfire on cylinder 2.  Could be the cylinder head or the cam phaser.  Faulty head will fail compression testing.  Refuse to pay for diagnosis if it's the cam phaser or cyl head.  They are well known to Dodge.   A good Dodge service center will provide a loaner.  The job is about 12 hours of labor.  Straight forward job for a competent technician.  I've had both the phaser and left head replaced.   Good luck.

if my vehicle is having symptoms of this known cylinder head issue should dodge still be charging me for diagnostic?? Also what test should they Ben performing to check if this is the issue?? Anyone know if this is the cause for check engine light if they are required to get me a loaner for a fix they tell me will take a week..?? Thanks for any help

This happens to me all the time. All I get is the first post of the thread. Sometimes  refreshing works, most times not. Frustrating as hell. I've reported to Robert but not sure anything can be done. Don't understand the need to have to update the site everytime a new version comes out. I cant do jack shit moderator wise anymore.

The Bluetooth module is likely defective, as dhh3 suggested.  Yours won't be the first.  It isn't a cheap part, but maybe you can find one in a yard or on ebay.

Thanks for the feedback... I have tried disconnecting the battery... the radio stations work fine. the voice command, bluetooth, etc.. that don't work.

uConnect is the radio.  I assume that you are referring to the Bluetooth?  if so, what exactly doesn't work and in what way?  Is the Bluetooth grayed out when it doesn't work or does everything seem to be working (menus and so on) but you are simply unable to connect at times?  Have you tried other phones?

The actual inverter in the 2011 models was physically located in
the center stack by the radio module.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't know if it's necessary to replace the entire console, though I have not  been to a junkyard to determine if the consoles are different with the exception of the back panel where the outlet is located in the second row.
 
Does anyone know where the inverter is actually located?

The entire console? Don't think so. If you do, post some pics.

Angone have any experience swapping in a center console with the 115V outlet for the second row?
