Just hit 57000 miles on my 4 cyl FWD SE. This is also a 2013 so it shows how much it gets driven. Other than the trans clunk I've had since day 1 and the massive understeer in the rain, this is a great vehicle. The sticker on it was 24k. For 24k there's no other option out there to get all of the equipment I have plus sit as comfortably as I do. Now, this is a company vehicle so I'd have never considered a DJ unless it was given to me. I will say that the abuse this vehicle takes, it still drives as it did on day 1.

I purchased a 2014 DJ Crossroad 2 months ago. I never considered AWD, because as soon as I saw this Copper Pearl beauty, I knew I had to have it. This is my first non 4wd vehicle in over 20 years. I had a Bronco II, Subaru, 2 Ford Explorers, Jeep GC, Jeep Liberty, Dodge Durango (Lemon), Jeep Commander with QD II - wow! (forced to sell it because of my wifes health), and finally a Dodge Nitro that I bought new in 2011. So, now the Dodge Journey. Winter is coming - soon, I think because some of the trees are already turning here in NE Indiana. Will I be OK with FWD or do I need to trade it for an AWD? I realize that I will loose $ doing this, but I only have 1,200 miles on the DJ so far. Any advice will be helpful.
I did read it is better to start in 2nd. Thanks But a search of the internet provided nothing except cars for sale or reviews.

Found this thread. Now I see why you are partial to Copperhead Pearl when I posted the pictures of mine. The blacked out parts on the Crossroad make them look like entirely different! I have never seen another one in this color on the road. My Dealer just got in a new one identical to mine. Nice ride.

So what do you guys think? I'm wanting to do more red, possibly doing the plastic trim around the bottom and the front!

I believe the power button turns the auto dimming function on and off. The left green light will be lit when the function is on. The other one is the sensor that reads the intensity of light coming to the mirror, which makes it turn dark. Turn it on, and shine a flash light on the sensor - you will see the mirror turn dark.

Mine is Copperhead Pearl. As soon as I saw this, I had to have it! My last three trucks were silver, so this was a big change for me.

Welcome to the forum. Good of you to show patience for the service people. I'm sure the Tech will appreciate it. You're going to like the back up camera and wonder how you ever got along without it, I know I do.

My conclusion was that it allowed you slide back for quick access
to loose change/toll tokens in the little sliding shelf while driving.

bidstr got it right. If you open the lid, push the release button on the underside at the back, it allows the console lid to slide backwards. Then close the lid, and push it to the closed position. Then lift on the release button, but don"t pull up on the lid, and the lid will slide back far enough to fully expose that little tray that locks towards the front. This is what one of the salesmen told me today while I was having the camera installed.
Now, to the camera. I found one on ebay for $288, but my dealer will not warrantee it. Parts had one in stock; sorry, I do not remember the exact price; maybe around $340. It replaces the black piece where the license plate lights are. The book says 2 hours installation: $178.00 quoted for installation by my dealer! Well, I brought the Truck (?) (Dodge considers the Journey a Truck) in at 8 am, thinking 2 hours. Around noon, the Tech was at lunch; I snuck into the service area through a back door! The plastic storage box behind the third row was sitting on the roof rails, the left rear third row seat was out, all of the interior pieces along the driver's side were either loose or out. The heater controls below the 8.4" screen were out, the trim pieces on either side of it were out were out and there was a big silver box on the passenger side floor. When the tech got back from lunch, I asked him what the silver box was. it is basically the radio where the CD and SD slots are. On the back were the female connectors for the power, speakers, and antennas; just like the old Mygigs but without the screen! I decided to take the shuttle home. The shuttle brought me back around 5 and a little visual progress was made. The camera was installed. There were already wires up front that would plug into the camera socket, but they didn't work. Maybe they are for the back up sensors. Anyway, it is now Friday night, and my Journey is still in pieces in the shop. Hopefully, they will have it done Monday. The poor kid had never done one of the new Journey's with the big screen. My dealer has always been fair and treated me well, so I am not mad at all - just car-less for the weekend. I did not ask for a loaner; they probably would have given me one if I asked. To be continued! LOL
