  1. Nope. Unless you are below the cutoff line on projectors you can look directly at them with zero blinding. Your TL's were one of the best projectors available (IMO) and anyone who complained about being blinded was clearly high as a kite or an old bag ready to complain about anything. I agree, do what you want with your vehicle, but it doesn't change the facts...in a halogen housing HID's send light EVERYWHERE, the beam pattern is unfocused and scattered and the light output is horseshit compared to the proper installation using a projector designed for those bulbs. It is just a fact and sharing that information with people is exactly what forums like this are for...education. Anyone who has had a proper HID setup would never be able to go to a plug and play as the difference is just too great. Once again, I agree that we all have different tastes and that people should be proud of what they have done with their vehicles if it makes them happy. That beings said, pride doesn't mean that you have done something correctly. I won't bag on people for their choices, but I will share knowledge and hopefully every once in a while someone learns something from me and increases their knowledge base and satisfaction with their vehicle.
  2. first shot is low beam, second is high beam... No blinding from that setup.

    vegas bound

I have a buddy that lives there, so I go a lot. I actually prefer the local scene, off of the strip. Lots to do in Vegas besides hop from one casino to another.
  4. the 15 is the same as the 11-14... pre-2011 are able to be modified as the don't have the SRS system in the headrest. Maybe the listing was incorrect? All the headrest does is pop the front forward in an accident to help absorb the shock to your head hitting the headrest (whiplash??). I have only seen this done on the pre-2011 models. The add on ones don't look terrible if you install it correctly and don't cheap out. In fact, you could probably hard mount one to the plastic on the back of the headrest from the inside... If you do it, you best post info and pics!!
  5. Pearl White is probably my favorite (favourite) color (colour) for a vehicle... Looks high end.
  6. Seems common... I would be bitching about getting a new one. Not sure they are available though.
  7. This^^^ Consult a professional... if they screw it up then they pay for it. With a purchase that large I would look for reviews and opinions online, but the knowledge a pro can offer would be what I would use to make my final decision.
  8. When does it leak, with a light rain, or high pressure situations like in the carwash? Could be a different cause depending on the situation... Please provide a tad more info.
  9. My paint seems pretty thin too. It is very annoying how many chips show up in the black paint with it being so thin...
  10. probably stuck working with the mineral spirits then... I would wetsand and buff them. This would easily be the quickest and most effective method. EDIT: Why are you taking it off? Because it is patchy from the buffing? There is a system to getting a shine that starts with a light wetsand using a 2000 or higher grit wetsand sand paper and then moves on to a light buffing with a compound followed by a light buffing with a polish. The idea is to progressively make the scratches smaller. This should be pretty easy to achieve with a proper coating of clear.
  11. The DJ doesn't have a Citadel model... more or less, it is a fully equipped Durango with all of the bells and whistles.
  12. What he said...^^^ the headrests would have to be replaced with something else and you would then have made changes to the SRS system in the vehicle. If you ever got into an accident with changes made to that system you would likely get screwed by the insurance company.
  13. The way I read it, it isn't an FCA dealer and it isn't an FCA warranty. Don't think finding another is an option...
  14. This was not correct on the 2014... This was correct. Thanks. I ended up removing the door panel and looking at the speaker wiring as I was planning on tapping into it in the B pillar. Thanks! I built a sub box that fits into the floor storage by the rear gate. Finally getting around to installing it. Using the rear speakers to wire up my LOC.
  15. Thanks for reporting back. When you say you got the key cleaned, you mean what exactly?
  16. Make sure you get authentic ones... They will be slightly more costly, but you will get what you pay for.
  17. Not entirely accurate... The PWM (pulse width modulation) signal can cause flickering even with a relay. The reason that they flicker is that the signal to close the relay isn't always 12v (to be specific, I think that most relays need a minimum of 9v to activate). PWM creates peaks and valleys in the voltage signal sent to the headlight harness; if that signal dips below the threshold of that particular relay it will open the relay and cause the light to shut off. Since this happens quickly it can cause flicker. That being said, I don't believe this is an issue with the DJ. Perhaps the PWM signal is tighter and never dips below that threshold?
  18. Simplest way to find out would be to check part numbers with the dealer... Even if they aren't identical, they with likely have the same number with a different letter designation at the end.
  19. I believe you are correct. It is very easy to get the dash apart, take a look.
  20. I think it depends on the kit. I did a full projector retrofit and used a capacitor to smooth out the PWM signal that causes the flickering. Some newer kits have this installed in the kit itself. I have seen a number of your Canadian counterparts speak of a place that sells kits that are plug and play and flicker-free without anything additional, but I don't recall the name. I'm sure you've heard this before, so I won't go on too long about it, but I would strongly advise you to look into a full retrofit rather than putting HID lights into your OEM housing. The light scatter is blinding to oncoming traffic and is dangerous (rant done).
