Yup, I'm feelin pretty good now that I can keep up with the others on the road......the Pentastar engine is a beast at full throttle. I'm glad i opted for the bigger engine.

We have over 36,000 kilometres on our Journey and have only had the radio and navigation system replaced and weatherstripping on three windows replaced. No mechanical problems and the Kumho tires have been regularly rotated and still in good shape. We love our Journey as well. Best vehicle I've ever owned! By the number of forum members who are repeat owners I would say that says a lot about the Journey! Unfortunately you can get stuck with a bad product with any manufacturer and there should be a better way to resolve these problems. I feel bad for those who have been stuck with a vehicle that they paid good money for and can't get satisfaction. It also doesn't help when you have someone who posts a few times just to stir the pot.

Me loves my Journey!! Looking forward to an R/T to replace my SXT in a couple more years. Or the new Crossroad, that thing looks "sick"!!

My point was too him who said he was giving up on Dodge because of his ONE bad one. I would not go as far as to say "full of unhappy customers and crappy Journeys"...no more than any other automotive forum I belong to. There are good stories and bad. Some people make the bad worse with crappy dealer experiences, but that goes across all manufacturer lines as well.

I have owned a number of Chrysler automatics with the shift
lock solenoid and never have experienced its failure,this is
not a safety problem but would generate a TSB (tech service bulletin)
IF it were a persistent problem.

How did you not know about the acceleration issue before you bought it and why are you asking if its a good vehicle after you signed the papers? Isnt that something you check out before you make a purchase? Just asking............

Welll I gotta ask: Did you not test drive it before buying? That should have shown you the 4 cylinder is kinda weak. Believe me, we lived with one for 5 years. It was adequate once up to speed, it was just getting up to speed that was the hard part.....

Shocks should not be leaking with that many miles and should be covered by warranty. The 3 year, 36000 miles is bumper to bumper. I would argue this point with the dealer who is trying to say they are not covered. Unless you are like taking it off road and doing jumps and stuff.....

Just returned from a very pleasant visit to the local Dodge Dealer for the first five year warranty inspection. Haven't been back to this Dealer since the Journey was purchased there on Feb 14, 2009. This is the first vehicle that we have owned that came with a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, so I wasn't quite sure how to handle it. I have maintained it according to the Maintenance Schedule and kept all of the receipts for oil filters, oil, air filters and coolant. When I presented them to the Service Adviser he politely told me that they were not required! Cool! He asked me if I needed an oil change and I told him that I had just changed it in December. No problem! He then told me that the vehicle had an open Recall for the door wiring harness. I told him that I had already done the Recall (K07) myself, in November. He didn't even question me about that!! An hour later and I was out the door with the required inspection complete. No charge for the inspection and no pressure to add work.
This Dealer, Spitzer Autoworld is not one of the many Dealer chains that occupy this area and constantly bombard you with loud ridiculous commercials. They were here when I arrived here 38 years ago and I think they are part of a family of like named Dealerships, mostly located in the midwest.
I will, of course, continue to follow the Maintenance Schedule in the book. Six month oil changes seem like a bit excessive, but my wife doesn't drive the Journey that much, so it is probably for the best. Got 750 miles on the last oil!!

Think about it - you both have similar problem with similar aftermarket
product installed.

CANBUS is the propriety operating system that actuates all the electronics
via data signals over the existing wiring,when you introduce an externally
produced product to the system it has to be designed to work with these
actuating signals i.e. turning them on/off.
Yes the lights are already LEDs but this device is supposed to make them
flash/cycle.

I did not suggest anywhere in my response that there would be a charge for anything. The original poster asked "and will it be costly". Without more detail no one has any idea speculating any cost associated with a repair, if it is necessary and not covered by warranty. So I answered the question with "I have no idea if it would be costly". Thats it. Read the entire first post.

Welcome to the forum. First off, try to isolate where the sound is coming from. Engine? Under the dash? Under the seats? Where is the vent position set? Dash vents, floor, defrost? Is it dependant on blower setting? Does it make the sound moving? Sitting still? All the time? It's kinda hard to tell you if it will be costly without a little more detail.

Like someone else had offered, take it off, drive it around for a while, if it drives better, or you get better mpg's keep it off. Otherwise put it back on.
Personally, I don't think this will help any. Today, MPG means more than HP, and chrysler wouldn't have put a little noise suppression at the expense of even 1 MPG.

I don't know who this Paul is, but he is awesome. I have bookmarked his page. I am certain it will be invaluable for us DJ owners. Sometimes it is the simple mundane stuff that drives me the most crazy. Great Information. Thank you Paul!!!!

I stumbled upon this "how to" guide as I was trying to find out exactly what the felt tubes purpose is in the air filter box. Anyhow, replacing the engine air filter is a pretty easy maintenance job for a DIY'r but for someone new to car maintenance who wants to try and save some cash this step by step link should help:
