  1. If after all test the problem remain the reason should be the catalytic efficiency is lower than 95%, you can try the P0420 eliminator with a small catalytic inside. P0420 eliminator
  2. After we got the 18 2.4 CrossRoad in 2019 I ran this test because our 13 2.4 AVP was doing it too: Start the engine then press the brake pedal steady with force ( I would said 80 lb of force), the pedal slowly travel to the floor. I can not duplicate this in other cars I owned. Both SUV have OEM parts, except the brake pads in the 2013.
  3. I read the replies but I was expecting to see more inputs, the thing that the 2018 2.4 we purchase in 2019 was doing the same, it makes me to think that this is a designing issue, however both Journeys brake fine, when driving to any speed the SUV stop with the pedal in the middle, but if the engine is running you can press the pedal all the way to the floor, with engine no running the pedal does not travel to the floor, even if you press hard. Thanks to all that replies to my question.
  4. I give up on my 2.4 2013, I adjusted the booster pin to master cylinder, so I have less play in the brake pedal, because the 2.4 2018 is doing it too I considered this a design issue, I would like to know if anyone with a 2.4 Journey with the engine running and steady pressure to the brake pedal, if the brake pedal does not sink to the floor.
  5. You can try replacing the oil pressure switch, My 2.4 throw some random codes, I do not recall the numbers, but after replacing the oil pressure switch it stop, I use a after market from ebay. I replaced it because it was leaking oil. oil pressure switch
  6. I have the P0456 on mine still on the factory warranty, dealer replace the purge valve, canister and update the ECM 2 or 3 times and the code always returned, after warranty expired I change the same parts again and the code returned, finally I replaced the gas cap with a OEM also I sanded the filler neck with 1000 sand paper and greased with brake pads grease. No more P0456 in the last 8 years.
  7. Is a 2.4? I got P0301 or P0302 code in my 2.4 and it was the fuel injector.
  8. Has anyone found a solution to the brake pedal sinking to the floor? I have a 2018 (2.4) and a 2013 (2.4), both of them have the issue, the 2018 is all original brake parts, brake system has never been touch, and does it less than the 2013 with new pads, new OEM vacuum booster, new OEM master cylinder and the ABS module replaced.
  9. Do you replace the sensors with OEM? How many miles in the Journey?
  10. Here is the info how to diagnostic the P0750 in a Journey 2.4P0750.pdf
  11. Go to youtube and search for transmission replacement on Journey, if no help, try the search for the Dodge Caliber, Dodge Avenger as those cars share parts with the Dodge Journey.
  12. Is better to find a used 2.4 and put it there, but there is a difference between the 2009-2010 and 2011-2018 2.4 in the intake, probably they use a different PCM, so you will need the intake of the 2009 for the swap, I have a 2.4 and I am happy, I just need a transportation no a race car.
  13. Is the fuel pressure OK? Are the injectors working? You can check the injectors voltage to see if they are receiving power with a test light, when cranking the test ligth shoul be flashing (connected it to the 2 injector terminals) I use a LED test light.
  14. Have you try resetting the PCM connectors? take one by one out, clean them with an "electrical contact cleaner spray" and put hem back. Do not forget to disconnect the battery before doing it.
  15. Do you put a OEM sensor? Here is all info for the P0335 P0335.zip
  16. Check the starter relay, you can swap it with other relays for troubleshooting.
  17. My 2013 2.4 no too long ago have a misfire and goes to limp mode, but the code was P0303 (I used WiTech scanner), after I change the injector #3 the problem was fixed.
  18. You can get a used PCM on Ebay and reprogrammed to your VIN, that way you eliminate your doubt about the PCM.
  19. Did you use OEM sensors? Most of the sensors in the Journey are hall effect and no OEM could give you headaches.
  20. If you decide to check the timing belt, here is the infotimingbelt.rar
  21. This all info I found for the codes you having, it may help you. P0172.pdf P0175.pdf
  22. Most of the problems with wiring is at the connectors, they oxidized or the pins get loose connections due to metal fatigue, clean the connectors witlh electrical contact cleaner, it may fix the proble. Once I have a Dodge Caravan that the dashboaard ramdonly dies and fixed it for good resoldering all the crimp wires that goes from the dashboard to the PCM.
  23. The fix in my 2.4 was the intake gasket, read my post here: https://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/12196-p2173-high-airflowvacuum-leak-detected-fixed/
  24. I had the P2173, red lightning bolt and the ESC light 3 years ago, the fix was to change the intake manifold gasket, you can try in yours it may fix the problem and is inexpensive and easy repair.
